I'm east coast too been going to Tijuana for years 3 times a year. I'm making the move in summer I'll see how I feel after a year there but don't think I will get bored.

Guys from the East Coast, my advice is to move to Chula Vista because there are a lot of apartment buildings there (around $ 1500 per bedroom) and it's cheaper than San Diego. Sign a contract for half a year or a year and if you don't like it, then look for an apartment in San Diego but rent is more expensive there. To rent an apartment you must show your income and your bank account balance. Chula Vista location is good because lots of shops, supermarkets, restaurants the city is generally clean and safe. (Of course this is not Beverly Hills) Everyone here speaks English or Spanish. You park your car for free in the trolley car parking, take the trolley and in 30-40 minutes you are in Zona Norte. Also 30 min. To the beach (Coronado or Silver Strand. Imperial Beach is closed now because pollution), 30 minutes to downtown San Diego, to CBX airport Tijuana, also close to San Diego airport SAN domestic and European connections. There are Indian casinos in the area as well also close to LOS Angeles and Las Vegas. You can meet chicas regularly in Hong Kong, Adelita or at the Mansion motel (4 hours room rental) or at the Cascadas hotel (70% discount on Monday, Tuesday with VIP card). It is important that prostitution is legal in Tijuana Zona Norte and you cannot be arrested and no sting operations. If you smoke then cannabis is legal here in California. Rosarito, Ensenada and Valle de Guadalupe on the Mexican side are also nice. Southern California good sunny climate and good destination for single, divorced and retired guys!

Well with such little info on your relationship with her it's hard to offer up much advice. I think with the writings of KB and how things have progressed with his girl you can see the things to do and not do. If you plan on living in Tijuana with her you have a better chance as compared to just visiting her from time to time. Like I advise anyone that looks to get involved with a bar girl is to not make yourself poor trying to impress them or do things for them. If you want to give her an allowance since she's no longer working that's up to you but just don't take advantage of her as well since she is giving up making money to be with you. Got to agree with Rambo San Jose and Silicon Valley are boring with little recreation, ridiculously expensive real estate, extreme climate and bad air being in a valley with no ocean breeze, industrial pollution released into the air and the bay, food selection is poor, quality very bad, prices high, people mean, rude, aggressive, greedy, shady with life time devotion and aggressive drive to pursue money and fame the like of Theranos' Elizabeth Holmes. People in the bay area are uptight, stressed, uncoiol and no fun.

One bright sunny August I went out the the empty beach near Big Sur, noticing people going out in padded clothing wrapped heavy blankets, sitting on the beach not getting into the water. Then I found out, bone chilling wind from the ocean would quickly freeze swimmers to death. Despite all these inviting promotions, woody camp sites in Big Sur area were damp and bone chilling cold at night, had lots of rattle snakes hiding under dead wood, rolling down the hill to campsites at night hunting for food. Damn disgusting, still raise the hair on the back of my neck. We had to pull up camp and move to Carmel for food and hotel..

Damn right. I used to lament never settling down. Then I see half of my friends splitting up their wives, getting remarried, splitting up again. And the remaining guys that remained with their wives are more married to their mother figure than the girlfriend they fell in love with years ago. The San Diego area is pretty ideal for an aging bachelor. I took nearly a 50% pay cut to get the fuck away from the East Coast and its fat grumpy women, and get back to so cal. My work colleagues could not understand why. And it was unfortunate that I could not fully explain. Maybe I'll wait till their divorces are final first before I try to explain.

As someone on the East Coast who loves going out to San Diego / Tijuana. I feel like I would get burned out on that scene pretty quickly if I went on a weekly basis LOL. I'm good with the 3 or so times a year I go out there (for a few days at a time). Feel like the Tijuana scene would get old. Not too mention expensive. If I was frequenting those clubs on weekly, or even multiple times monthly, basis like that. So it might seem nice in theory to be out there by Tijuana but don't be too surprised if you get tired of it after a while. Though San Diego is a great place to live anyway and not too far from LA so there's that.
