Most hotels will need to see a passport. I have no idea if that information will somehow get into a data base. There has to be alot of information sharing between both sides regardless of what the headlines read.

Don't sweat it. Do what you are supposed to do (buy a visa) and cross back with a clear mind.

Hotel Ticuan did not ask me for a passport. Just a photo ID (like Drivers License). Honestly, I dont think they know at the border how long you spent in TJ, its what you tell them. If you stayed only for a few days it really dont matter.

I will make it a point to stop by to say hi to Lucy, she seemed like a really nice woman. And I knew once you bought her a drink, you would be out of service for a while.

BTW, I now have a "BJ" distance when I sit at one of the dance stages at HK. No, BJ does not stand for blow job, but for Big John. Because I remember well when you got kicked in the head from that dancer!!! Yep, I keep my BJ distance!

Yes,try to get there in November .I like TJ!Lucy trying to get out of business you might not find her there.She is realistic,46 is too old for most guys.I frankly know better than to start reltionship with a woman who has worked too much heartache.Yes,hope to see you again envy places you have been!

Had been with Lucy a couple times one time the first night in TJ the great guy Tom Jenkins met her!she works the Topical part time also has job in a maquila!Not for everyone.Little English,older,46,very old for business but great personality,excellent BBJ she swallowed once LOL somewhat gordita great lover lots of fun for this 66 year old monger!She tries harder as likely few customers.In looks maybe a five,skill 8,attitude 9.First time jokingly offered her 200p in jest but she countered at 350p gave her 400p!Wonderful sense of humor.Saw her in Mercado de los Todos on day off Central TJ street clothes jeans!I bought her lunch caldo de res!She wanted to go to a placepast Playa Rosarito Potula,i think!It is about 5kms past Rosarito,a collectivo to there only 16 pesos apiece!Reminds me of Mexican fishing villiages way further south like San Blas,Nayarit or Progresso ,Yucatan.run down,all Mexican,no English cheap you buy fish from boats and pay cookshacks to cook up the product delicious.We ate seafood,watched the waves,had way too many caguamas of Tecate we bought from a tienda and sat on sand.At most spent 400 pesosfor a great day!This old sucker almost forget she was in the business!Sadly that night 10pm had to work at Tropical!I was staying at Hotel Leyna she got her work clothes showered in my hotel and guess what unzipped my pants of course resisted she not not want money for this pop just thanked me for a great day..shit emotions starting but logically old man knows better.Big John 1

Thanks for the report. I will need to try a meal at ceasars hotel. Were all the single rooms facing revo ?

The young lady at the desk told me there were single rooms off the street and quiet. But she also told me I could reserve rooms on their Web site; which I'm unable to find. I might stay there just for the hell of it cuz of all the tequila I consume in HK. So, I will be able to give you better information before you come. Looking forward to mongering with you again!

I'm talking of course that you're LEGALLY allowed to enter the united states. How do they know how long you spent in mexico? It's not like they check your passport when you go INTO mexico. So whats to stop you from staying 5 or 6 days without the tourist visa?

If it worked this way, why would all the people sneaking across the desert be a problem? They would just stand in line, and when they got to the front of the line they'd say, "HA! Fooled you! We're technically in the USA now, so you have to let us in!"

After spending a few hours in HK in the late afternoon and early evening, I decided to check out a couple of hotels that were mentioned on this board. The first place was Hotel Nelson and it seems to be in a great location for popping in and out of the Zona. The desk clerk told me the rooms were $40 a night with AC, and $35 without AC. I asked him about the noise level because all the rooms seemed to face either on Revolution or on First, both busy areas. He said that it is usually noisy in the evenings and early mornings. The place has two bars, one inside with no windows, and a bar/restaurant with plenty of windows and outdoor seating. I bought a margarita for about $5 and watched the outside crowd for a bit.

I then headed up (or down) Revolution to Hotel Caesars. The single rooms are $33 (two people), they also have Master Suites for $55. The young lady told me they did have rooms off the street that were not noisy at all. I stopped in the restaurant/bar and had an excellent margarita for about $4. Apparently this is the place that invented the Caesar salad. I heard from others in San Diego that the food was excellent; however, I was still full from the street tacos, so I just checked out the menus. They have an impressive wine list menu and the food menu was also impressive. A full page of pasta dishes and I noticed they had beef wellington for less than $18.

Revolution was blocked off in front of the hotel for a Jazz and Blues festival, so I thought I would check it out. Ordered a plastic cup of white wine and the guy behind the bar said I needed to buy a ticket, and I asked from whom, and it turned out to be the guy standing next to me. The ticket was 60 pesos; which I thought was over the top for a little cup of wine. But I guess some money went to the band; which was good.

Started getting nervous, needed to get back to home base. When I returned to HK, the crowd picked up quite a bit. Hung out with my favorite school girl looking ladies; Manzaniita. The sausage festival was now in full swing; so it was time for me to bail. I looked at the time and realized I could make back to Jack in the Box before the 8 hour mark; I was proud of myself. But it was not to be. On my way out I ran into Captain Solo and I still had plenty of pesos & dollar bills; so what the hell!

We hung out at the bar near the front stage and discussed the beauty that HK presented on a daily basis. There was a hottie at the pole on the bar; whom I never saw before, but then again, I usually don't stay that late. She told me her name was Datoka, found out her real name was Sadi and she would turn 22 at midnight; which calls for a drink! She proceeded to give me about a fifteen minute lap dance and Captain Solo got to enjoy the goodies as well.

Shortly after Sadi said goodbye, Alaska took the pole at the bar. If it was not for the swivel seats, I swear I would need treatment for neck pain. Alaska has put on some weight since the pictures were taken for the HK Web site; but she is still fucking hot! And she does smile, especially when you break out a dollar bill!

I talked to Captain Solo about a possible Zona bar crawl. Hit all the bars in the Zona that people try to pull you into, and do a big report on the findings thereafter. Yeah, I would need to bring a small note pad and pen, just so I could remember the places and details. Who knows, there might be one or two gems in the Zona that many of us don't know about it. One drink per bar; how many drinks could that be??? For me, it would be an overnight trip, but I think it would be well worth it. Anyone else interested, send a PM.

Guys,just a few tips from 66 year old Spanish speaking gringo on Social Security!For safe out of zone family run hotel try Hotel Catalina 200p nightly one block off Rev 8 blocks zona internet lobby English speaker owner clean safe do not bring girls here corner Zapata y Madera!Spent week in Hotel Leyna next to Chicago Club got one week 110 dollars much haggling second floor room you can bring girls up just tip parking guys!Spnish helps here no ac nor heat no Internet convenient to all zona.El Norteno locals bar two dollar litos de Tecate same for women mostly 3 to 5s here but much fun!Around corner from HK!Cops protected me handed them burritos and tacos cheap insurance zero hassles!Only real hassle declaring 18 ays in TJ to USA Customs!I love TJ,many great flea markets,regular markets,great for mngering an non mongering on the cheap.Hats off to Tom Jenkins for intial introduction.More real soon.Big John 1

Does it matter how long you stayed? I know that mexican law states if you're staying longer than 72 hours you need a tourist visa but if you're crossing back to the border wether it's 73 hours or 4 weeks...you're technically in the united states right? so you got away scot free!? right?
