    Passport

General question. Does everyone carry their passports with them at all time, or do you store it in a hotel safe?

    La Villa is good

It's not fancy like the Ticuan; it's a 2 star but it's safe, has hot water and aircon and cable TV. It's all I need when I'm in Tijuana for a few days. Never called an escort over but I've read others have. Pics are below. Might not be nice enough for some, though.

I'm actually curious about all the cheap hotels in Tijuana, if they're safe, what their weekly and monthly rates are, etc. Next trip I'm going to do some recon on the cheapies and report back.
I used to stay there about once a month before the drug wars. The guy at the desk was always helpful even helping me call my girlfriend. I like the secure parking and I always tipped the guard when I came in. He was always right there when I was ready to leave to help maneuver out of the lot and thru the alley.

I recently net over there and the guy at the desk remembered me from 10 years ago. I don't stay there any more since I now live in Tijuana but I would not hesitate to recommend it.

Same here. But also a pillow case or towel

I like to bring my own clean blankets and pillow or pillow case and sleep above the Cascadas sheets so I do not touch the sheets there. When I return to the USA then the blankets and pillow case go in the washer. If I forget a pillow case then I use a clean Cascadas towel to cover the pillow. I think the Cascadas staff is very good about cleaning the linen but you can't be too careful. Also bring a small bottle of spray disinfectant or disinfectant wipes- $2 from Walmart, to wipe the door / shower handles. The disinfectant wipes are also good for when the water isn't hot and you don't want to shower in cold water. The wipes are the substitute for disinfecting yourself and you can give one to your chica.

Thanks for all the hotel replies, especially cascades. For Marriott my rate is $100 or $109 to the person that replied and I would do at least 4 taxi or lift. So it does add up and no rooms were avails LE last Sunday. I stayed at Tucuan again but this time I got top floor center. It was extremely quiet all night. I usually get a room around 10 or midnight so an expensive hotel Seema like a waste for one o e. I am able to walk to HK from Tucuan.

Parking- this time I tried the $8 parking which is no longer 24 hrs but for $2 more than the insurance parking I got another 2 hrs. Its not well lit and with them cutting in to the ground, I got a cloud of cement dust on my just washed car.

Well, I got my papers. Talk to you guys in a year.

I tried Hotel Ticuan which is now $84 (up from $67 on their web site). It had hot water (yes!) And the bed was comfortable. I doubt they change sheets daily but the looked clean. Free. Breakfast with menu. I had to ask how to turn on the lights. My only complaint was my room was next to the construction of the new building next door which started at lime 5 am.

Can someone post their hotel reviews since there is no separate thread?

I don't think there are many. I passed by that area and decided to go in a couple of bars there to see the show inside for the experience. One I think is a gay bar and they left me alone when I told the person who approached me that I like real girls.

You're willing to stay in the Marriott, a hotel that is routinely between $125 - $150 per night, and you're worried about the taxi fare to Centro? It's maybe 2 miles, but what difference does $6 or $8 make at that point? Personally, I'd use Uber. But if the cab fare is going to be a deal breaker, you'd best be looking at other hotels.

Haven't had any issues so far, knock on wood, but other members (or should I say Eskimo brothers) have reported issues, as documented here on the forum.

Good point about Uber, haven't tried it (usually leave my phone in the US, crossing over to Mexico without it; may get a local SIM card down the road), but there are some reports here where folks have had a good experience. More data needed.

    Hotels

The hotel Velario area is very sketchy with numerous reports of choke holds and policia shakedowns.

The 'girls' hang out in that areas are big and tall, some may have bigger dicks and balls than yours and mine.

Hotel Hacienda de Santiago and Leyva may be better and safer.

The only common ding it gets in it's reviews is that the neighborhood it's in is full of prostitutes (LOL! You can book it on normal hotel sites like Travelocity, Expedia, and TripAdvisor. Typically around $40 a night plus tax.

I've always want to use Uber and Mexico but I haven't had the balls too try to. Would you say uber is decently safe to use in Mexico over a cab and where would you normally pick the ubers up from? I was thinking of going to Rosarito sometime next month would you say that that is a good option just Uber it?

Again, another way is to take the collective, which I have taken both directions, many, many times between Marriot and downtown (4th and Constitucion), with a one-way fare of 12 pesos (can be 15 pesos late at night). One of the many benefits, besides cost, is that you are safe from a situation where a taxi driver may have colluded with the police to stop you to shake some money off you, which can at times happen late at night.
