Yes the vans are located near 4th & Madero st. Not really sure which ones go to the border. One problem is that taxi van and bus routes are poorly documented in Tijuana.

Here is the report on my recent bombing run. I got down to San Ysidro this past Sunday around 3 pm. Due to other circumstances, I had a rather expensive rental car on this trip. I was reluctant to take it over the border, so I decided to get a room in San Ysidro, keep the car there and walk over to Mexico. Once the car was secure at the hotel, I walked over to Ped West, exchanged some cash for Pesos right there and crossed. There was no wait at all. Although it looked like there was a bit of a line to come back into the USA. My last (and 1st trip) I used Ped East. On this trip using Ped West, it wasn't as clear to me on how to walk to the Zona so I hopped in a cab instead, flashed a 5 and said Hong Kong and we were off. This was my first time using cabs in Tijuana. I have been in cabs in major cities all over the USA. But the cabs in Tijuana make the US cabs seems like Rolls Royces. Seriously, it felt like the front wheels were about to come off at the slightest bump, brakes were metal on metal, etc. Anyway, on to HK. I got a room at Cascadas even though I wasn't planning on spending the night. Just walking from my San Ysidro hotel to the border and across, I worked up a pretty good sweat so it was nice to shower off. I did bring a small bag with a change of clothes, etc.

Once cleaned up, I headed out the front door (approx. 4:30 pm), around the taco cart corner, then through the alley. There were lots of girls out, but I wanted to survey the whole scene before making any choices. Headed to Chicago next. Stepped inside, sat at the first bar, had 2 for 1 beers. It was a pretty low-key scene. Maybe a couple dozen customers, maybe 10 girls milling around. Nothing seemed terribly interesting to me.
