I've done it numerous times in less than 1 minute.
Sometimes there's a line, and then it might take as long as 2 or 3 minutes. I would pass on a long line since, on my walks, there are always other cambios with tiny or no lines.

Posts: 15908I just crossed over into Tijuana. After I was processed, I went right to the bathroom as usual. But this time the cleaning lady said I had to leave my backpack outside. I said since when. She said that has always been the case. I didn't argue and was uneasy about it, but I did it. I would hate for something to be put into my bag before going through that xray machine.

I remember when the exchange rate was 10 pesos for $1 USD. Back then chicas went for 100 pesos or $10 USD in Boystown. When the rate rose you could get a chica for less than $10 USD because they still quoted 100 pesos. Those were the days of the 100 peso chicas!

A good place that is convenient if you ride a shuttle van in is on 2nd street, North side between McDonalds & OXXO you can see their sign from Revo and it is between Revo and Constitution. They give you little candies too & a easy to read receipt with plenty of dark ink. The kind fitting for a corporate expense report. I hate receipts that have faint ink prints as if the ribbon needs changing.

Posts: 603PESO RATE 20:1 Again = GOOD TIMES
Where else can you double your money for outdoor chicas but in Tijuana if you hit up a cambio to exchange US $ for pesos? Many still accept 200 pesos as equal to $20 US dollars. So why pay double in US $ ?
ABC exchange in San Ysidro was 20.008 to buy and 20.009 to sell Monday when I was down. Amazing the thin spread between buy & sell at times. Also it is a hit miss flip flop between cambios in Tijuana vs S. Why. To get the best rates. Some days Tijuana is better, other days S. Why. Is.
Enjoy it while it lasts.
