Depends on where you invest. If you invest in property that becomes a locale where illicit activities such as drug dealing is facilitated they will offer to buy it from you but at a price that you can't refuse. Be careful where you invest. Due diligence is key.

Basically it's not really "investing" . As you kind of need to accept that your money could be gone when you buy something. I am thinking anyone who does buy down there probably can afford to loose the money if all hell breaks loose.

I have always loved that part of Mexico and going to out and seeing how the people acted towards one another is one thing I genuinely miss. I'm happy that you can see the difference so quickly and in smaller cities it's even better. It's how I imagine people are in small parts of the south and the so called southern hospitality.

So I'd imagine since she is so tight with family and her age that she has talked to you about having a kid, with your past and age I'm sure you have thought about this and my guess is that maybe you not wanting a child would be the downfall of your relationship. Just talking from experience.

I returned to Tijuana Sunday night and currently at Playas getting a car stereo installed. I grew up in the south and people are more hospitable in that region compared to SoCal. I think SoCal people are too busy to make small talk and have to work to keep head above water or just a large transient population. Hawaii has very hospitable people on the island as long as your friendly and not stuck up. She mentioned kids prior to us dating, but she mentioned in 8-10 years which is kind of scary as I would be early grandpa age by that time.

Mexican friends told me villages in rural areas each has a strong man who can take your properties, rape your daughters, do whatever as he pleases. Nobody can do anything about it. Policias are afraid of them and mostly work for them.

In drugs producing and transporting regions, the cartels are kings. They would do whatever they want. Central and local government officials work for them to benefit from the profits. That's how lawless Mexico is.

Who would want to own properties or get involved with anyone long term in Mexico? We are lucky to be able to play in La Zona then get our asses back across the border to safety, law and order.

I had a taxi taking me to playas de Tijuana. When we got along the. Beach side, I was a mile from destination and he demanded more money or be dumped off in middle of nowhere. So I told him dump me here. Taxis are to be avoided unless desperate. For me, best way to HK is the 10 pesos bus that drops you off near revolution.

Sounds like it is best to take HK Limo to get to / from border. , and Uber for other trips. Unless you are willing to get on buses.

Bus from border to Central can work if you don't have luggage (but I do have luggage).
