Anyhow, I walked to the corner of the alley and Los Ninos.

A couple of white and blue police cars came up the other side of los Ninos. The driver of one got out. I couldn't see clearly because of phone poles so I started walking up Los Ninos. A big one called out to me and stopped me. A second and then two more showed up too. They put me against the wall and searched me, asking for I'd. They missed the big pack of smokes in my shirt pocket though. Anyhow, looked at my passport, saw my money and handed it to me while still searching. Then they found half of my vitamin V I was saving for later. Yes, I have a prescription but in the US and no paper copy.

They put me in the backseat, told me it was illegal in Mexico. They drove me off. My Spanish isn't good, neither was their English. They said Ticket a lot and Judge. Then said what I though was jail for 36 hours!

I asked if I could pay them the ticket. I showed the passenger cop $60. He took took it thru the metal screen. I was half afraid I got in deeper by offering a bribe. The guy gave me back my V. I promptly threw it out the back window. They drove me somewhere isolated down by where the foot bridge comes over and let me out. Then they drove off real fast. Sucks. I just wanted to GTFO at that point. But nooooooo, I had a mission. One involving firm sexy women.

I walked back up past the arch and along behind McDonalds. Then dropped back down to the alley. I ducked into a store each of the two time I saw another cop car or truck.

Contraband Vitamin V seems to be one of their favorite scams. I don't think it's really illegal to posess viagra (but I'm not a Mexican lawyer). But they take full advantage of the gringo's uncertainty, and the fact that nobody wants to [CodeWord140] away several hours of his day in the back of a car or in the Judge's office.

Sorry to hear about your mishap. I anticipate the same thing when I am down there. My situation is different. I use a medication that needs to be kept on ice. Therefore I cannot take the script bottle with me. I do however carry a copy of the prescription and my doctor's business card along with my I'd. Does anyone know if this would be an issue? The meds are usually sitting on ice at the hotel.

Glad to hear you didn't let it ruin your experience. Tijuana cops hurt the entire economy when they pull these stunts. It's a shame.

The best deal I have found is use your Bank of America card at any Santander ATM and there are ZERO fees and a GREAT exchange rate. I have been doing it for 2 years now and it is true. It might say there is going to be a fee but there isn't. Has to do with an agreement BofA made when they sold Santander.

There are very few banks that do no charge an extra fee for using their debit card in a foreign country. I spent a lot of time to find one. Most charge 3 to 5 percent. Some charge a flat $3 to $5. I am using Pacific Western Bank. They have several branches throughout Southern California.

HSBC does not charge American account holders to use their ATM cards in Mexico. You can open an HSBC account online.

Early September the rate at the combo was 11. 20 to 11:50 buy andsell 1, 5 pesos more and changing in the evening by. 5 to 1 pesos.

Hong Kong uses 11 to 1 for their exchange rate, Chicago Club uses 12 to 1 for theirs. I don't know what it is at Adelita but I am sure it is somewhere in that range. If you can buy pesos at 12. 5 at a casa de cambio and ask for change in pesos from the meseros (not maseros) you are ahead of the game. My bank does not charge a foreign transaction fee for ATM card useage (some banks do which can be as much as 3%). Right now from the ATM, I am getting pesos at 13. 5 to one. This means that when I buy an 88 peso ficha drink ($8 at 11 to 1) in Hong Kong it is costing me around $6. 50. Or if I buy an 84 peso ficha drink at Chicago ($7 at 12 to 1) it is costing me about $6. 22. But be careful, if your bank charges a foreign transaction fee, this could take away all of the advantage. I searched for a bank that does not charge a foreign transaction fee just for this reason.

Even if the girls insist on 12 to 1 exchange rate on their in room services (most do but some still go at 10 to 1 which is great) 720 pesos for the $60 service fee is only $53 at 13. 5 to 1. And at the end of the weekend, if I have any pesos left over, I cash them in at a casa de cambio for between 12. 5 and 13 to 1, which means I get back more dollars than I paid for those pesos through the ATM machine.

As an example, last Thursday I purchased new tires and a front end alignment in Tijuana. At the exchange rate at the llantera it would have been $832. I used my ATM card as a credit card and it cost me $683.

Now is the time to use pesos!

There's so many people and police around that it's not overtly dangerous but still, it's a magnet for the derelicts of Mexican society and the chances of you getting assaulted / robbed / threatened / intimidated are much, much higher when you're alone vs. When you're in a group.

I had texted my GF / BG last week to try to arrange for my Humanitarian relief effort. In a previous report I had mentioned I was feeling kind of bad about how on my last trip she had taken me all over the place, spent three wonderful nights together and had shown me remarkable hospitality without ever holding her hand out wanting anything in return. So once again she was lost trying to find some Frontera College place. We finally found the place and she did what she had to do. She does have a good personality and struck up a friendship with someone else who was waiting in line at the college, so next thing I know the lady and her little boy are in the car and she is taking them somewhere. I kept telling her she needs to get her groceries to the freezer but I don't think she understood.

She finally got everything put away and I told her I needed to get to Caliente so I could put a bet in for Monday night football. So we headed to the Zona. On the way we called our translator friend, he said he was off work and we made plans to meet him at the bar he is now employeed at to watch the game. On a side note he did recently lose his job at a different club, rumor has it he was part of that conspiracy to charge more for ficha's and pocket the difference. I let her pick the team we would bet on, and she picked the Redskins. The translator dude wanted the Cowboys so it made for an interesting game. The only problem was I had this bright idea that everytime your team scored you had to drink tequila. This is the first time this guy has taken advantage of me everytime I turned around he was ordering Tequila and I was getting the bill. But everyone was getting good and drunk and having alot of fun. That is until he threw up all over the place, and then got into an argument about not wanting to tip the guy who cleaned it up. I hope this incident doesn't cost him his job.

I had never been to the Zona on a Monday Thursday was always my night of choice. But I have to say it really does not seem to matter what night you choose. The streets had many beautiful ladies working and the bars although not as busy had many ladies to choose from.

Anyway after heading to another place to sober up for a bit it was time to go since I have lost my overnight Privileges. No wait at the border and I was on my way home. So this ended up being the most I have spent in Tijuana probably around $350 and no sex, but I will always have memories of this trip.

On the way home the chica texted a bunch of Te Amo's and called twice and this morning there was a text from her.
