Security is a joke. Why do they require papers for walking across, but not when driving? And that's just for Tijuana, no other entry point requires papers, just walk right in.

I am thinking about heading down to Tijuana for the first time after reading all of your great reviews. However, the one thing that has me concerned is the effect that Trump's border policies will have in regards to crossing back and forth? If any? Should I not be worried? I am a citizen and am planning on bringing my license + passport, of course. Thanks! Please forgive me in advance if I'm being a little paranoid!

I go about once a week, mostly driving, but often walking, and if anything, Trump's antics have scared off the faint-hearted, resulting in shorter lines for the rest of us.

If you are a USA Citizen holding a valid passport, then what exactly are you concerned about? Unless you have outstanding arrest warrants, you are being extremely paranoid about nothing.

If you are talking about a 60 day pass going into Mexico someone is bullshitting you. At ped entrance as long as you are going to Tijuana and staying less than 7 days just fill out the free form each time you enter. If you find that to be a pain and you go often then pay the $25 and buy the 180 day pass so you can walk right in.

Went, again, Thursday night. Crossed just as a shift chane occured, and walked right past. Great security Mexico.

Kind of hard to meet up since you can not except PMs unless you pay the $20 in order to have that feature. I will be around Saturday afternoon and into the night. You could always stroll into Gold Palace bar (located in the alley across from hotel cascadas) and ask the DJ if Hugo Sanchez is around?

I believe early afternoon we will be conducting a tour of Tijuana's shitty bars. But most likely be back in Gold Palace around 7 p.m.

St time in Tijuana in a yr. I'm staying at Roadway inn. 1st time in yrs. Room is still a dump, but no parking issues, and short walk to border. Bud shop right across the street. Walked to border at 800. Realized the slightly changed how to get to the entrance. Only 1 line in. Asked if I was usa, LOL, and passport. Told me next time ide need a 60 day pass. Taxis are on both sides now, not just the line.

Coming home, l used ped east. 130 am, no line at new bldg. Asked where I was going. Couldn't remember hotels name, LOL.

Much easier return tonight.

Just take Uber. Uber is about half the cost and have never had problems.

If you go to Chicago Club across the street you will see Blue and White Taxis. There should be 3 Moises / Miguel / or Coco are the drivers. They are the most trustworthy in the zona. Tell them a friend from Hotel Leyva recommenced them to you. Many guys use them.

Much safer than random Taxi Libres.
