If you are there on a weekend morning, the brunch at the Pueblo Amigo hotel is fantastic.

I tried the NY steak in the restaurant that belongs to the Chicago club. It was terrible.

I kept inspecting it and wondering if it was horse meat since it was so tough that it almost pulled my teeth out.

Worst 10$ spent. I can't determine whether this is worse than the Adelita restaurant. It was close. Should have went to Mc Donalds instead.

Could you guys recommend some restaurants down there that would NOT require a stomach examination thereafter?

I will definitely be in the Zona this coming weekend. I am thinking about being there on Saturday night, sunday day and evening, Monday evening, and Tuesday daytime.

Any suggestions on specific Chicas that are giving good service right now. I really don't care too much about the price only the quality of service 1st and looks 2nd.

Interested in any good SWs as I typically stick to AB and CC but will try the alley sometimes. I only get to TJ a few times a year so I always look for guidance from the veterans.

Also if anyone is going to be in TJ on those days let me know and we could hook up for a beer. You can PM me.

So can somebody please tell me how to get from say Revolution to the Otay border crossing?

The San Ysidro crossing is ridiculous during the day. Too many tourists right now.

Bluenose....nice to share that beer with you at Aztec. It took so long to spot you because Adela was blocking the view (intentionally I think). Anyway, hope you had a great session with your girley. Trip report? Did they re-open Rio Verde yet?

The Zona is NOT set up for sleeping unless you are knocked out anyway. I tln'd at Cascades for quite a while with by then fav and never got much sleep. I wondered how she got any sleep.

You'll have to move up to Nelson if you want to get ANY sleep. Good luck.

Try La Perla restaurant. Per OWL's quote below, the food is excellent and very reasonable priced. I have eaten there many many times and never had a single problem. It is also very close to the action: come out of AB and go left to the stop sign. La Perla is the building diagonally across from you with the palm thatch roof.

Fri. night (12:30 AM Sat. morning) border wait time: About as fast as you could get. I stopped before walking up to the agent for less than one min. I asked how he was doing tonight. His reply was a very dry, stern, "citizenship?” More like a statement than a question. I said, "US" and was on my way in seconds. More to follow…

Keep in mind that I did mention that it is the ones on contract. If I am correct, Selma used to work at Adelitas, and hence, was not brought here by Hong Kong so she is not on contract. They must make the money back that the bar spent to get them to TJ

I guess I'm confused then. I stopped by at HK last night early (8PM) met a cute gal named Selma [sp?] & we went next door - no problems. I had only bought her one beer & paid no bar fine. She had mentioned thast she had just gotten to work so it's unlikely she had a dozen tickets yet.

I have not been able to make it down the adult playland in the south for around 8 months due to other commitments in the US.

I am planning on heading down between 3/4-3/8 with 3 nights planned in TJ.

I have read almost all of the posts here and had a few questions for the more frequent visitors:

1) Is it really 2h wait at the border? Is this only on Fri/Sat or other days and in the early evening (return around 10-11pm).

2) I assume just a US drivers license is still all that is required to get back? I don't like taking my passport as they scan it and I am concerned what informaiton could leak out to others in the US. ;-) In the past I just brought a photo-copy of my ID even though I never needed it.

3) Any recommendations on top new talent at AB or CC or on the street.

4) I was thinking of staying one night in either AB or CC so I can use the room with Chicas and then sleep after drinking. I did this one other time but the noise at AB was so loud it was hard to sleep. The room was safe and all but they play loud music all night. Do all of the CC/AB rooms do this or was it just that one night. I thought maybe they were trying to get me to check out early.

The wait at the border depands on when and how you come back. On the weekends, if you drive back, 1-2h wait is the norm. Walking back, the wait is rarely longer than 30 minutes, even on weekends and sometimes it is very short.

For now, all you will need is your driver's license. You could always take a photocopy of your passport also. Generally, when you drive across they do not scan your passport (because your license plates are automatically scanned) and they may or may not scan it when you walk across.

Hotels at AB & CC will tend to fil up quickly on the weekends. I recommend you stay somewhere else as the noise in those hotels makes sleeping next to impossible. In the zone itself, there are plenty of hotels. The Nelson Hotel (corner of Revolucion & Primera) is OK, though pricey, and there are some hotels on Calle Coahuila, just west of AB & CC (Come out of AB, turn right and walk straight - there are a few hotels along there that are OK and less noisy).

Ok here is the 411 on the fiche cheit!. I got the lo down this weekend. Obviously, many/most of the girls are recruited from other parts of Mexico. What happens is that the club puts an ad in a paper in another city. The girl calls and agrees to the Job. The club then sends her a ticket and puts her in a hotel. For this, she must sign a contract for a certain amount of time. In the case of Hong Kong in order to take her out of the club before her shift is done, one must pay the equivalent of 20 Fiches. so If she already has 12 pieces of paper(fiche) with her name on it, then you must pay for the remaining 8, or wait to the end of her shift. Can you believe that... 20 fuching drinks!!!! The ones that are not on contract, or have already fulfilled their contract, the normal bar fee is 20- 30 bucks. or so it has been in the past. Hope this helps clear it up a bit. They are pimps first and foremost!

A friend said that he read that a passport will be required to return to the Staes from MX next year. I remember hearing that they proposed this last year but it got shot down. Any info on this one?

I was returning from TJ Monday evening & asked that specific question of the US officer since I had met a couple who wanted to visit but did not have passports. His answer: they are implementing it in stages with the TJ crossing to be implemented in 2008. I didn't ask if that was January or December.

I was really interested in the return times on Sunday->Thursday around 10pm -> 2am. I strictly avoid TJ on Fri/Sat night unless I was planning on going for just the revo drinking clubs. The zona is too crowded otherwise. I have never had to wait very long in the past. I was only interested in walk across times as I never drive to TJ.

Return times depend on whether you are walking or driving across so I am not sure which you are going for? I can tell you that 3 weeks back I went on Friday and when I left to go back, it was around 5 am, the fucking line was back to where the taxi drops you off! I would definitely bring your ID but not a passport because it isn't required and it would suck to lose something like that. Not sure about staying at AB or CC and I don't frequent those enough to recommend any girls. There are plenty of girls though in AB so I don't think you would have a problem finding a good looking girl. On my last trip I didn't check AB out because I don't like the crowds and for non-gfe why put up with it? Then again if you want to best looking girls it seems like the spot to be.
