Given the reports of violence, by taxi drivers attacking Uber drivers, it would probably be a good idea NOT to have your Uber pick you up right at the taxi area.

Walk a block or so. It will give you a bit of exercise. (If you don't get mugged.).

I'm bringing my large roller bag, $1200 cash (oops just gave myself away) and lap top so don't want to get mugged. I'll just haggle with the taxi driver to get me safely to Ticuan.

I post this trip here since I know a lot of guys in this thread.

I want to do a leisurely road trip of Europe, driving a round circle in about 2 weeks in September when weather is cool.

We can fly LAX to Barcelona RT nonstop on Iberia A330 11 hours for about $500, rent a car for $50 a day and drive around to big cities, major monger spots, about 200 miles apart, booking hotels at the best spots where we want to stay. With hottest girls, the most fun, the best food. Google maps makes everything easy.

I kept a room at Leyva for 3 years. I never heard of anyone getting a bedbug infestation. There are definitely roaches though and mice in the hallway. I have never seen a mouse in my room. I would have been out of there in 3 seconds if I did.

The way to enjoy the Leyva is as a longterm resident. Staff treats you better and chances are you will have a better room. Short term people get short term service.

It isn't the Ritz Carlton but many residents are very happy there. When you have your own room people tend to fix it up and do what needs to be done to make it feel homey. The only thing which grossed me out was the fabric on the chairs. I covered them with blankets. My mattress pad was DOUBLE WRAPPED. It was all good after that.

Leyva Definately has bed bugs now, maybe some American Traveler brought them down. I know a chica that has them in her room too.

This is a very serious health problem. If you bring them home you will never get rid of them. Damn Leyva and the stupid guys who operate it. Hotel Hacienda de Santiago on Coahuila is under the same owner, so it likely also has bed bugs. Damn these stupid guys.

Any bro having these problems with hotels in La Zona please post.

When I used to travel more frequently in USA And stay in various hotels the first thing I would do is pull back the bed sheets and check around the outsides of both the boxspring and mattress seams. If an infestation can see both their live and dead bodies or anywhere on the mattress. Even top rated hotels get them time to time but in low end puta hotels as evidenced in Leyva much more common. This kinda stuff and HK craziness and puta killings I will stay in Ticuan this trip. I'm sure I will make my way into HK but not overnight.

This is one of the reasons why I stay in the nicer areas of Tijuana instead of Norte. Not worth taking bed bugs or roaches home with you. Always check the mattress and pillows for blood stains when first checking in to your room. I also recommend keeping sanitary vipes and wiping down every inch of the room.

Last night a bro met me in Chavelas, showed me his arms full of nasty red bumps of bed bug bites. This is a very serious problem as you can bring the bed bugs home, spread it everywhere to others, and really get crewed with trying to get rid of them.

Last year another bro reported cock roaches invaded his room, got into his shoes, clothing, lap top and luggage. The bro said Motel Diaz on Revo near the Arc was nice, clean with aircon for about the same price.

Leyva should be avoided unless you want to risk infected with diseases and bring bed bugs and cock roaches home with you. Any bros confirming bed bugs / cock roach problems at any hotel in La Zona, please alert us.

Thanks for warning us Capitan. I tried to see a room last Nov. And all occupied. The deskman not real friendly either so that a warning sign the place is a dump. Next weekend I am booked 4 nights in hotel Ticuan. Not staying in San Diego this trip the hotels are so expensive. Even crummy $108 rooms at 32nd St. Naval base are booked up.

I asked Border Patrol last time I crossed PedEast and I was told that it should be "soon. " It had been closed but it's opened up recently to be used exclusively for Ukrainian refugees. It might be opened up for the general public once that demand is over.

Well the Pedwest hasn't been used for the Ukrainians for a few weeks now since the law changed for them and now they need special paperwork before being allowed to enter. The problem is nobody knows what's going to happen with Title 42 and if it is removed what kind of s show the border will become. They already have more migrants arriving daily to be ready when it expires on the 23rd. If they aren't let in I already know of some that will just cross illegally. They've been in Tijuana since Sunday. Now they just wait and see.
