That border line on foot returning is my biggest pet peeve in life right now. It significantly cut into my budget as I can't sleep in Tijuana any more, can't pursue many tinder opportunities in Tijuana. Its important to make clear, how bad that line is now. Last week a Mexican guy on line next to me with papers to work in USA missed his flight. We were on line 4 hours. I told him from the get go expect 3 to 3 half hours. He was not allowed to use that bus to cut the line since thata only for Americans or at least not Mexicans. Since its supposed to be for medical tourism. Anyway the line goes very bad by 6 am. Before 6 am its probably 90 minutes. By 730 its generally 3 to 4 hours till 6 pm at which point it decreases. From around 8 pm to 330 am is the window to go and have no line or hour and less. The issue is the line cutting. Between the medical pass bus, and people who walk to the front on the disabled line. If you look over 55 you can just walk on that line and get through in 25 minutes as there's nobody in charge. If you have a cane at home bring it. What you will see is hundreds of 40,50 year olds with canes running to the front of the line while you are standing inside for 4 hours.

This is one the main reasons why I avoid driving to Tijuana. 1 hour is about the longest I have had to wait crossing the border in 4-5 years now. These days there is almost no line or a 20 minute wait on most days. I usually walk down and take the taxi van back. This way I don't have to pay for parking and worry about being hassled by the cops. This also means that I don't have to insurance as well. In the end walking across the border is really the better choice.

I drove through the border this weekend. Was in town for non mongering reasons. Looked like they were stopping about half the cars driving through, but I wasn't stopped so very easy cross. Had friends with me on the way back that didn't have SENTRI so had to wait four hours in the car line on the way back. Saturday night. Brutal.

The parking structure AT the Ticuan looked fairly respectable. I applied for my vehicle to be on SENTRI. Unsure how long that will take.

I always park at ticuan even if I'm not staying there. Seems very safe to me. If you already have SENTRI then adding a vehicle won't take long at all. A couple weeks if I remember correctly.

I usually stay at Hyatt Place. But it is about $120 / night when I'm planning to go there. I see they have a Hampton and Fairfield Inn. Are these girl friendly, I. E. No fee, no registration, etc. ?

How is the wifi at Ticuan? I may try that place again if they have good wifi now.

Assuming some degree of consistency across Mexico, the Hampton should be girl friendly. I've often stayed at the Hampton Centro Historico in CDMX and they were downright cool about the 2-3 chicas per day I had come visit me. Even after she departs my room and gets her ID from the front to leave, the front desk would call me to ensure I was okay. I've often stayed at Ticuan and have never experienced Wi-Fi issues.

Wifi seemed fine for me, I could use Plex from my home server on a Roku stick on the TV pretty well. Different times of day led to different results. So its not great, but functional for work / browsing and 20 hrs a day, Roku.

Bar girls are the worst option IMO. I get the infatuation over a trophy lay. But paying more for less time and questionable service is terrible value. 30 minutes is basically 25. Not enough time to really enjoy yourself.
