Made my first Tijuana trip on Wednesday.
It was around 7:30 PM and no line at all and was a breeze. No FMM, no questions, nada.
I came back Friday early morning and again it was very swift in the US customs check with my Global Entry.

I personally recommend ALWAYS filling the FMM out online and printing it out before your trip. In my experience it seems to reduce the likelihood of hassle / questions / potentially facing a bribe situation as it gives the Mexican customs official a signal that you're not just some naive border crosser.

This is very good advice and almost ensures a hassle-free crossing because as the poster indicated, it dispels any hint that it's your first rodeo and hence an easy mark. It's also convenient compared to manually filling out the form there.

I have been researching the forum as I am planning a return trip in January to Tijuana.

Can anyone explain their experience with the boarder crossing and FMM? If you do need it what hotel do you normally put and do they verify?

Usually I was waived across with my passport and there was no mention of a FMM. I said I was going to the casino so maybe that's why.

Appreciate any help you can provide.

I'm no expert on border crossing but as far as I know an FMM is always required when crossing into Mexico. The only times I've ever NOT been given one was twice last year when they made me pay the $30 bribe when I attempted to cross with an expired passport. Those two times were the only times I've ever had to pay a bribe and only times I wasn't given an FMM card (I guess I didn't get one because they weren't supposed to let me in without a valid passport in the first place LOL). The FMM is that small white card with green and red lines on it. If you don't fill the FMM out online they always, to my understanding, give you one and stamp it when you cross the border.

If you don't fill it out online the Mexican customs official is supposed to complete one (during which point they'll likely ask you a couple questions like how many days you're staying and why you're visiting) and stamp it for you. For my FMMs I've ALWAYS put Hotel Caesars on it (which they never actually verify). When the border was "closed" for non-essential travel, I always used the "dentist" excuse and had the name / address of a dentist as well as a fake e-mail I sent to myself confirming a dental appointment ready. Now that the border is no longer closed your reason for visit doesn't matter. You can say casino, bars, tacos, whatever.

This process usually isn't an issue, as long as you have proper and valid documentation (I. E. , a valid passport). The ONLY times I've ever had issue were the two times I explained above when I tried to cross with an expired passport. Even then they still let me through (though I had to pay a bribe).

Is there a way to enter Mexico and re enter the us without a passport stamp using only a passport? Thanks.

Flew down to SAN airport, the Buss 922 and Blue line took 1 HR 20 minutes to reach the border. Total expense $2. 5 + $2. 5 ticket to reach there. Changed money and walked through the Pedestrian bridge.

Isn't there a secured parking lot by the border that's $15/ day? I'm planning on parking by the border and walking across.

I park in Otay and cross there on foot and then take an Uber for $6-$7 to Centro. There are several secure lots with a cost of $10 a day Sun-Thu and $15 a day over the weekend.

Finding free parking in southern Cali is not equivalent to most of the USA. For starters there's no program or operation in place to prevent anyone from driving your car into Mexico after stealing it. In Dan Diego a lot of dudes with 15 year old cars use the club under the assumption someone will steal it. I've parked rentals near the outlets At the san Ysidro border but I was not aware of the the crime situation. At the very least, to park in San Diego streets, nothing should be put in the trunk when you park. If seen they will break into your car. And. Nothing should be visible in the car. Not even 25 cents. If you really care about your car unplug the car battery. Or pay for parking.

You can pay in the paid lots for $18 or more a day. Or there is a $8 per day lot that will shuttle you over about a mile from Tijuana Airport on US side.

There is not much $ saving flying out of Tijuana to Colombia. You would lose 2 days in Tijuana, going and returning.

A few airlines are flying from LAX to Colombia for about $350 RT. Look in FLIGHTS. GOOGLE.COM.

$350 is a great deal, how long is the layover though?

By any chance, do you know how the rates to fly out of Tijuana versus LAX to Colombia?

I've always done well using the CBX bridge into the TIJ airport. Heading for San Miguel in central Mexico, we took an Uber to the USA side of the bridge. Saved a bundle.

Likewise, we dropped a bunch of relatives there, headed for Lima. Again, good savings.

And then, one other time, headed for Mexico City, we left our car in the CBX lot, and their fees put a big dent in our savings!

Used my Visa card to pay for my Cascadas room about a week ago. Gave it to the lady clerk at the south entrance. She told me the card reader didn't work and I would have to use the card reader on the north side. She walked my card via the stair and I took the elevator. Got to the other side. They ran my credit card but forgot to give it back. Next morning, checked my bank and someone had made 2 charges to a Shein.com shopping site for $258 and another for about $200. Filed a claim with my bank and cancelled my card immediately then went downstairs to the desk, who then gave me my credit card. Take care. Do not make my mistake and let your credit card out of your sight! If you are told the credit card machine isn't working, pay cash rather than let them walk it to the other side! Also, only let one person handle your card. This way you know who stole your info. The bank will likely eat the loss but it is still a pain to go to the bank and replace your credit card. . . Side note, have never had this problem in Rizo.

Also, after Captain Solo's warnings in the past, I have avoided using the local ATMs and outside bank ATMs and walk to the nearby Soriana's or Calimax supermarkets inside ATMs. There are no dudes hanging around waiting to rob you there and I've never had my ATM cards hacked there. Seems safe and secure. . . FYI.

What cities would you suggest we visit I am interested in going.

In my hay days, the roaring nineties Brasil was the best! But with all the foreign homeboys invasion and word of mouth, the garotas bedroom play in general has declined a bit, or costs much more to obtain. Because I'm fluent in Espanol and my Portuguese is pretty good, I do pretty good in Latin America and Brasil. To answer your question, my favorite country to indulge in is now Colombia, you get more bang for the buck, specifically Medellin. But really you can have fun anywhere in Colombia, a lot of available Venezolanas and they have very lax Covid entry requirements to fly in! Luvchicas.
