MEXICO CITY (AFP) - More than 600 human bone fragments were found in a mass grave outside the Mexican city of Tijuana near the United States border, officials said on Wednesday (Aug 16).

Baja California state's Missing Persons Association said the mass grave was located, not far from the city, south of the US city of San Diego, after a tip from alleged drug traffickers now in custody.

The site is in the same area where, years ago, the authorities found a mass grave of Santiago Mezas. He would dissolve bodies in chemicals, at traffickers' request, before relocating remains.

"So far, we have found between 600 and 700 (human) bone parts. Forensic experts are saying it will take at least a month to complete work at the site," Mr Fernando Ocegueda, the group's director, said on Milenio Television.

Mexicans, going back to the Aztecs, and Latinos generally, have always been a most bloodthirsty, most pugnacious, bunch. The Aztecs, as most of us know, held mass human sacrifices, and butchered the losers of their sporting events. More Latinos, of any ethnic group, are winners of the Medal Of Honor. Latinos field the largest number of prize fighters of all ethnicities.

Other news outlets are reporting this site was recently discovered but that the remains are up to a decade old. I think several reporters are confused between the new find and previous finds.

I knew him personally. He was a stand up type of guy. I also trusted his advise in the zona norte. He help so many from getting in trouble and he always keep his eye out for corrupt police and shitty rateros. I had the pleasure of chatting with him on several occasions.

BUT, some assholes, got their butt-hurt on the other site, so they decided take aim at his death 6 months later!

It is a fucking shame there are so many angry clowns on this great site!

Contrary to what others might say R1 was very well liked by the chicas and people in the zona. He did a lot of kind deeds for people.

His character came across as rough to people he didn't like, so I can see where some people might be offended by him. I don't blame them.

He was very kind and considerate to me. We had several long talks on the street over the few years that I knew him. He was kind, compassionate, and extremely intelligent.

R1 was a character, some might even call him a con man. Regardless I liked the guy, even for his quirks. He had an intense passion for mongering and the community. Mongers were his family and the zona was somewhere he felt appreciated.

He died alone. Many of us here have the same future.

I had spoken to R1 on the sidewalk numerous times in 2014 and 2015. But we hadn't spoken, just nodded to each other in passing the last couple of years-beginning when Zambuggy and I started having some issues with slurs he was allowing on his site.

Thanks, all. What little interaction we had was confined to the other board. But he was always ready to provide information, answer questions, etc. I don't recall ever having any issues with him.

While the blogger in question is a known a-hole, I do appreciate the time it took to ferret out the information about are's untimely death. When you strip away the editorializing of the blog post you see a guy, more than likely with some sort of mental illness, at the end of his rope, bereft of friends or family, and feeling utterly hopeless. Regardless of anyone's personal animosity to the deceased, that's something nobody should have to experience.

And we most certainly didn't have the same taste in women or sexual proclivities. I always suspected he'd offed himself but didn't know until I popped into that other blog several days ago. It's really quite sad that somebody gets to the stage where suicide looks like a good idea.

There are MANY of us out there. Long before Rodrigo I knew of R1 demise the week it happened from several of my PUTA favorites. Chicanet is powerfull.

I knew he was dead shortly after it happened. What I did not know was that he and Hellboy were one in the same, and that he had actually killed himself, as that was info which the other venue had kept hidden. That said, I'm done talking about him, unless some other poster wants to keep going after me here, in which case I will reply in kind.

This is now the 3rd and final time I have suggested that there be no further discussion about R1 on THIS board. It is not Jackson's intention that we clutter the board with stuff that 95% of the members could care less about. (gossip).

You have PMs, Email, face to face in Tijuana or Rod's topic on the subject where he Encourages Comments and you need not use the same handle you use here or anywhere else so as not to create more board enemies. Almost regret having posted this however I know the deceased had several friends and a lot of foes who were curious & the subject was not put to rest.

The fact is, Rodrigo's blog entry was a revelation to me, as I was one of the people who was directly a target of R-1's extremely biased persecution complex in his persona as Hellboy the moderator in that other site. It was highly informative to hear, after the fact, that I was dealing with someone who was clearly mentally ill but yet had been put in a position of power in that other venue. Even after Hellboy / R-1 is deceased, I still suffer the ramifications of his actions on that site. So I have no sympathy at all, and in fact, I feel vindicated knowing what I know now.

It makes no difference because when they scan your card it records that you crossed. Occasionally they will ask why I cross often. I usually just say tourism or visiting. If you are not smuggling or carrying contraband you have nothing to worry about.

Don't think hes worried about the govt. Think its someone peeping his passport.

I read what you actually wrote, not what you intended to write but botched the grammar in doing so. It's called a Freudian slip, when your subconscious causes you to inadvertently state the truth rather than what you intended to say. What you ACTUALLY wrote was that I should respect the dead asshole. And I simply pointed out that the dead asshole in question didn't deserve my respect, based upon how he carried himself in life, and the fact that he himself had ended his particular worthless life. That said, to R-1's credit, killing himself was the most useful thing he had ever done in this world.
