On the Foreign Exchange money charts they're saying its 12 Mexican Pesos to the US Dollar. Is that what the exchange cambios giving in Tijuana? Anybody know.

At the cambio at San Ysidro McDonalds on Sunday at 3pm the price was 11. 85 to $1 or 1180 pesos per $100. 00 (I exchanged $110 Igot change"$" and 1300pesos. On the Mexican side the cambios at the border (before the turnstyles were selling pesos at 11. 60. In the zona it was 11. 50. (the good news if you want to buy American dollars it is cheaper! Hahaha)

From my visit yesterday, the exchange places had about 11. 7-11. 9 pesos to a dollar. I knew it was going to be low because I google the exchange rate before I make a trip down. The rate has been getting low gradually since mid last year. But in a short run, it isn't too much of a difference IMO.

For example I like to pay the gals 700-800 pesos per arriba, depending on circumstances. A year ago with 12. 5-1 ratio, the converted rates for that were 56-64usd. But now it's 59. 3-67. 8usd with 11. 8-1 ratio. I know that may be a lot in the long run, but I'd rather not stress over it for a short romp. We can't do anything about the rates, it is what it is.

Also, for anyone that has BoA debit cards, try using the ATM next to AB. With my BoA debit card a couple times, I didn't get charged anything. I was worried about after-charge, but later I found out that that ATM machine (scotia) doesn't charge fees on BoA debit withdrawals (not even after-charge of 2usd for using different ATM machines besides BoA). Also it gives out much a better rate than the exchange kiosks.

That machine was down yesterday so I used the one in hk, it charges a fee of around 90mxn. And there will be a few after-charges for me.

Anyway, try not to use the ATM machines unless 1. You really need cash or 2. You have BoA debit for AB ATM machine.

For a 1st time use, choose the amounts in pesos. On my first time I wanted to withdraw 150usd so I pressed 150, but it gave me 150mxn, which is like 12usd. LOL. Luckily I used the AB machine without fees. It was a weird experience for me. LOL.

I see that you travel all the way from phoenix, how often do you make trips to Tijuana? Is that worth the trip?

I made the trip 3 times so far in the last year. I think it is worth it. First, Tijuana has so much many more girls than the closer towns (Nogales, Los Algodones and Mexicali). Nogales is a rip off and a shit hole and I will never go there again. Los Algodones is OK but it does not have a 24 hour border crossing and there is only 2 places with about maybe 10 girls a piece. Mexicali probably comes the closest to Tijuana but it is not very tourist friendly. I do not speak Spanish and in Mexicali it is hard to find anyone that speaks English. Tijuana caters to Americans so practically everyone in the town speaks English (I remember the first time I went there with another friend from Phoenix and we joked that in Phoenix there are places where you can not find anyone that speaks English but in Tijuana everyone speaks it so I think Tijuana speaks more English than Phoenix. LOL). Once and a while you will get a girl that doesn't but there are plenty of meseros to translate for you. Of course, Tijuana is legendary so I like that about it. I just think Tijuana is the best of the border towns.

To each his own.

If you don't go down enough, don't even sweat about this and let it get in the way of having a fun experience.

The little 'extras' that you end up paying will end up just being a few bucks anyway, certainly not worth you overthinking about it.

Besides as a n00b, you are going to overspend, anyway.

That is the experience, that is the fun.

Once you start going down there enough, maybe you want to use pesos to create the impression you are local, or maybe you want to do it for better rates, hell, maybe you do it so the chicas will be impressed, but ultimately, your negotiating powers come from what comes out from your mouth, rather than what comes out from your wallet

I crossed the boarder on foot on a Thurs for the first time since the new port was opened. *At first I thought it would be great to both come and go on the same side, as if *I were going to save walking time and distance. *It turns out, as most of you know, that is not the case.

As I walked though the new entrance, I remember it being described as reminiscent of the entrance to Auschwitz. *I must concur. * Not to *trivialize one of the most horrific tragedies *of human history. *But I digress.

I walked past the yellow cabs, *not knowing where the Taxi Libres were. *I walked up to a *cab, I forget the name but it wasn't a *Libre. *I asked,"Tres? Holding up three fingers. *He nodded and I was in my way.

I have a pretty lame routine that I vow to break out of every time I go but I find myself falling back into the same ol' rut. * AB, HK, then into *prowling down the alley looking for chicas with as close as I can get to that *FOB look.

After a quick lap around AB, avoiding the cute little puta that I ficha'd last time, I was off to HK. *I checked out the shaving cream show. *They were not that hot, but for a couple bucks, squeezing some tits and dropping a digit or two on some naked girls was worth it. *There was a girl on the bar that had an okay face but a great body. *I sat at the barand felt up her damn near perfect tits and very nice, firm young ass. *I made a couple rounds but didn't see many standouts. *I had no desire to socialize with any putas, I wanted sucky-fucky with a cutest, youngest, leanest little FOB type street girl I could find.

I prowled up and down both sides of the alley, also looking along *the adjacent street, Constitution I think. *It didn't take long for me to narrow my focus down to a couple of hotties. *After walking back and forth a few times, my choice was Katia. *I know many of you know her, she has her own thread, but for those that don't, she is relatively tall, very thin flat belly, young looking face and has something I have a bit of a fetish for, braces.

It is funny, I have found it is more difficult to use pesos down there than dollars. I am serious, at HK if you have pesos and you ask how much your drink costs in pesos the waiter does not even know. He has to go back and ask him manager. It is literally very difficult to get the HK to accept pesos, they want dollars!

I agree that 20s are fine and are easily broken in HK and other bars. The waiters are very good about giving singles as change because they want you to have them for tips. I still recommend bringing about $20 in $5 bills plus about $10 in singles. The small bills are used for the cabs, food along the street, and various tips. Never be caught at the end of the trip without at least $5 in small bills to pay for your cab ride to the border.

One of my favorite ways to spend about $3 is the freshly made juice on Constitution just south of school girl corner. The sanitary conditions are questionable at best, but the juice tastes great and it helps prepare for the next round.

20's are safe and simple to use in Tijuana. But hundreds I would break at bank before going south.

Also I am headed to Tijuana next Saturday April 20th. If any regular from the board wants to meet for a drink I be happy to meet yea. I probably get there between 3 and 5 pm.

Why don't you break 20s instead?

You would be getting 20s anyway directly from atms, and breaking 20s in Tijuana bars are quite simple and straightforward.

Normally if you had 100s, you would have gotten them from a bank, at which point you would ask them to break it for you anyway.
