    Nice post

Can't wait to read about the juicier details in HK!

Surprising that the $5 you paid for the border crossing service was worth it, I tried it before and found it to be a scam especially if it is early traffic and many cars are trying to pass through those lanes as well, that time, I actually got dropped off just before the turnstiles back into US immigration, apologized to 3 angry looking tattooed dudes and told them I was really in a hurry, good thing they turned out to be really nice guys who let me in front of them, hehe.

I sort of joked with the other two that my mongering trips keep getting farther west. I started out going to Nogales two times and then some people on this board convinced me that that was not a good place to go because it was so expensive. Some other mongers convinced me that I should go just a little bit futher and go to Los Algodones. I went there and liked it but then some people on this board told me how Mexicali was so much better because it was bigger and had so many more opportunities so I should go there and I went there and liked it a lot returning there several times. Tijuana was always on my mind because of course it is probably the most famous place in Mexico, maybe the world for mongering so now I have went there. The problem is now of course there is no where further west I can go! Tijuana has to now be the final frontier. LOL.

The trip definitely did not get started off good. It did get better though. I had read all the advice on this board and other mongering boards about parking north of the border and I even had the address of the UETA parking lot programmed into my Garmin GPS which everyone on both boards seem to say is the best place to park if you are going to spend at least one night in Tijuana. We got there and drove right to it but it was full. We drove around the area and each and every freaking parking lot on the border was full. We did find one that would take us but they wanted $27 a day so we told them to go to hell. We drove around the area for 2 hours in and out of every parking lot to find out they were full. At this point I was getting frustrated and I was at the point where I was going to just buy the Mexican auto insurance and drive in and park at Pepe's parking in the Zona which the Hong Kong Club's website had told me I could park at for free for staying at their hotel. I really did not want to drive into Tijuana especially on my first ever visit and of course with the reputation Tijuana has for car jackings, muggings and whatnot but at this point we were tired of looking for parking spots for 2 hours and I was going to do it. Granjefe and 2nd Chance were not crazy about the idea either. I really did not want to risk driving my fairly nice, sporty, bright red flashy looking car that had the word "Gringo" written all over it with personalized license plates on it and American bumper stickers into a place that was known for trying to do things to American cars but at this point I thought I had no choice. I figured full coverage Mexican insurance would cost about $25, the cost of parking at that crazy expensive spot so what the hell. We pulled up into a place that was a combination Currency Exchange and insuance seller that had a drive up window to buy the insurance. As I was in the drive up lane and after I had gotten my registration and American insurance documents out. 2nd Chance notices and open parking spot right next to the place for $5 a day that had been vacated. I quickly drove through the drive through and into the spot and took it as quick as possible. It was a very small lot so we were extremely lucky to get it as the opening appeared precisely at the right time. We got it, paid for the spot and exchanged some money and we finally walked over the border. I have read many posts on this board and another board about parking spots and I have never seen a report of someone having troubles finding one. From reading these posts I was under the impression that parking was plentiful down there near the border and that I would not need to worry about finding a spot. I found out wrong. When I go back to Tijuana in the future I am going to have to figure out some better way of getting a spot instead of driving around for 2 hours looking for a spot. Anyone have any ideas for the future?

I had a coupon for a free ride to the Hong Kong Club. I had called them up just like they had told me 45 minutes prior and they had said to go to the McDonalds that was by the border crossing. I waited and no one showed up. I called again and all I got was a messaging service and told them to send the shuttle and she said she would leave a message. We waited and waited and they never called back while we were waiting. I was getting a bit upset as we were sitting there in the middle of the most famous city in the world for muggings, pickpocketings and theft with our luggage waiting for the shuttle using my expensive Android Smartphone right in the middle of this. We finally got angry and said fuck it and got a cab for $5. The cab took us right to the Hong Kong Club where I had discounted reservations. We go there and immediately jumped out of the cab and went to the reception desk and said we had reservations. They then sent us to a different reception desk because they could not find them. We went to the other desk and they could not find them. I had booked them under my name. They looked and could not find them but said they had three rooms they could give us. I told them that I had a special, internet reservation rate that I expected to get since I had these reservations. They finally gave us the rooms for the special rate I had been quoted. We finally got all of this shit done and then the good part of our Tijuana trip began. You can read my reports about the rest of the Tijuana portion of my trip in the individual clubs forums (Hong Kong, Adelitas and Club Chicago) as this is where the action occurred. We met ClamSlammer while at the first club. ClamSlammer and I had exchanged phone numbers before the trip as he was going to be in Tijuana too so we kept texting each other until we found each other.

Leaving Tijuana Sunday Morning was a little better. 2nd Chance and I got up and we could not find Granjefe. We knocked on his door and he was not there. We were a bit concerned. We started going around the zona into each club and looking for him but could not find him. One of the security guard from Tropical was concerned too when we told him we were looking and he said we should check the local jails and he offerred to call. We politely turned down his offer because we did not think Granjefe would have done anything stupid like that. He said to come back if we decided differently. We then went back to the hotel room and knocked again and sure enough Granjefe was there and he said he was occupied. At 8 am He had gotten up and found a lady and was having an early morning snack. LOL. We laughed and then 2nd Chance and I hung out at the Hong Kong for a couple of hours until Granjefe was done and came down and we hung out for a little longer and then finally went back to the border catching a taxi libre cab.

When we got back to the border the line to walk in was about 3 hours long. We were not crazy about doing this but we all needed to get back home so we paid a shuttle guy $5 a piece to take us directly to the inspection point in about a half hour saving us a couple of hours. I got through to the immigrations person and it was a really young, sexy lady that was a feminazi that knew exactly what I was there for so she purposefully tried to embarass me in the line. She asked me what I was doing in Tijuana and I said I was partying. She asked me what kind of partying and I told her we were at night clubs. This lady was determined to get me to say in front of all of the other people my true purpose of the trip. She then asked me what kind of night clubs and I said ones with women in them. She asked me what kind of women were in them and I said sexy women. I was getting angry at this point. She asked me how long I had been in Tijuana and I said one night. She asked me if I had friends or family there and I said no. She asked me what hotel I stayed at and of course at this point there was no way around it so at first I tried to keep it low key by saying "Las Cascadas" which is the name of Hong Kong's hooker motel. I am sure she knew what it was but I was hoping the people in line, many of them women and small children did not know. She asked me where the Las Cascadas was and what type of hotel it was. Finally, at this point I got angry and I said "OK fine, you really want the details, I went to Tijuana, partied and fucked prostitutes in the Zona Norte at the Hong Kong Club which is a brothel." I think she was a bit shocked when she heard me get this detailed but when I said that she finally said to "go on" and let me through.

We found our car and then drove to a Chinese Restaurant that 2nd Chance had found on the internet on his Android phone that had Dim Souk (not sure if I spelled that right). I had never been even to San Diego before so I programed the address on the Garmin GPS and drove there. 2nd Chance bought both Granjefe and I this meal (thanks 2nd Chance). Again. 2nd Chance ordered everything as it came of the cart in Cantonese. The meal was pretty good.

I would avoid any unregulated apartment type place. Stay with the places where everyone is legal, and you don't have to worry about being kidnapped. There are enough places to get laid, you don't have to go looking under rocks. Hell, the escort agencies are good too.

they exist but are usually more expensive and several have been busted for housing **** girls. just this past may there was a bust at a casa in the el cacho neighborhood.

i was also told by a local that they are used mainly by high profile clients who don't want to be seen in the zona or pulling into a love motel. hence the higher prices.

other towns in mexico do not have such an elaborate set up as the zona norte so casas naturally spring up.

Would not mind having one or two more people tagging along to split the cost of gasoline and possible Mexican auto insurance if we decide to drive in (We have not decided yet). If you live in the Phoenix, Az area or somewhere in between let me know if you are interested. We have never been to Tijuana (We have all been to Mexicali numerous times) so if there is someone that has been to Tijuana many times and knows the place well so they could like navigate or maybe even drive in it would be nice. Be nice to have someone that speaks fluent Spanish too as none of us do (I use voice activated translators in Mexico).

I have been down here since the 17th. I don't cross back until I return home on August 9.

It does seem like some wall fixtures are not there anymore. Maybe it is part of the normal zona cycle.

The exchange rate is 13 Mexican pesos to the US Dollar. Real favorable. There's even exchange casas right in the Zona in case you need change to give the chica and can't break a large dollar bill. Most businesses give both prices when you buy something; in pesos and in dollars.

  11. #6686

    Quantity Of SGs

Compared to May I notice a few less SG's. I haven't seen my two BBBJer's who are like fixtures at their posts. Maybe they just took a few days off.

It is OK down here at the moment but I've seen more action in the past.

The good news is the exchange rate has been holding steady in our favor. That to me trumps anything.

Me and my friend did a lot of talking in the 7-11 close to the Zona Rosa. Anyway, at 10:30pm I went back to the hotel and he went to the Zona Rosa for his late night thing.

Theyre selling the generic Viagra for $5 a pill. Its ridiculous, I believe they sell it for much cheaper down in Central and South America.

    Bayboy, out
Sounds like a fun trip. I am glad to hear there were many street girls. The last time I was there it seemed kind of empty and the pickings were slim. I have not been down in several months but want to get down there very soon. Maybe this weekend I make a trip.

I like Google translate too. In fact I have that app on my phone too. It does work better but the only issue with it is the data connection. In Mexicali, if I am really close to the border where I can pick up an American cell tower, I use it. Usually that means I can use it in the Zona and the Devil's Triangle region. Unfortunately if I venture out to Bar San Diego or El Establo I get out of the American cell tower range and I am then roaming. Roaming data charges are incredibly expensive. I am with AT&T wireless so maybe other carriers do better. So then I must use Jibbigo which works very well but is maybe a bit slower and its voice recognitition software is not quite as good as Google. Of course, when I am in BSD or El Establo the music is blaring fairly loud so the voice recognition does not work anyway so I have to type everything in so I guess it does not make much difference other than it is slower. I have not been to TJ so I do not know if my AT&T phone will be able to pick up an American tower in the Zona Norte yet.

Yeah, I have joked before on the forum that I should have made my handle "Android Man". It takes ingenuity to do this if you do not speak Spanish at least in Mexicali. Technology has made it so even non Spanish speakers like me can monger in Mexico. LOL. Of course, believe it or not I actually sometimes have to use it in Phoenix. There are areas of Phoenix where no one speaks English. It sounds like from what I have read on here that Tijuana is maybe a bit more bi-lingual than Mexicali so I may not need it as much. I think from what I have read there are more people in Tijuana that speak English than there are in Phoenix. LOL. From what I have read, most of the ladies in Adelitas, Hong Kong, Tropical and Chicago all speak at least a little bit of English.
