I recently finished an 8-day mongering binge in Tijuana. I had a great time but am too old for so much all at one time. It started the really rainy Saturday (Nov 12?) and finished a week later on Saturday (maybe two hours before the Hong Kong shooting). Overall the trip went as they usually do.
A while ago this board had some exchanges regarding prices for street girls. It seemed that I may have been paying more than other mongers and I also wasn't always getting the 10:1 ratio for US:Mexican funds. Early in my trip I was wearing office casual clothes but later switched to used Dickies from a thrift shop. There may have been a small benefit financially to wearing old work clothes with SGs, but it is difficult to tell. In all but one case I was able to get SG service for $20US (one insisted on $30US) but only two of those were sin ropa. Typical SG sin ropa was 300 MX for me, which converts to about $23 US. Some mongers have reported lower prices, but I couldn't find it from any of the SGs that I wanted. There were 2 or 3 really aggressive girls who would boldly offer things like "$15 for me, $5 for the room. 45 minutes, anything you want, anal, kissing, everything." Those girls were older and not looking good, I moved on to the youger, hotter stuff.
After the binge was over, I had a pretty bad headache that wouln't go away with aspirin, Tylenol, or ibuprofen. Perhaps it was related to 8 consecutive days of Viagra. Next trip this long will include a day of sightseeing in the middle.

It's the overwhelming superstition that everybody displays. I'm not catholic, but I grew up around a bunch. Several friends attended Catholic school. I don't ever remember the Americans doing nutty stuff, like crossing themselves with money, or swooning at the sight of a department store dummy dressed up like the pope.
So, is this a Mexican Catholic thing, or more of a religious peasant thing?

Posts: 202First time back in the Zona in a long time
I used to head down to Tijuana a couple of times a week back in the late 90s / early 00s. Back then a different board had the best info, Chicago Club and Adelitas were going strong and Hong Kong was a notch below. That was a fun time but I started doing a lot of work in Asia and having fun there and I stopped doing the Tijuana scene except for a few trips over the past 10 years or so.
Well tonight I headed down after reading upon the current scene and had a really good time. I grabbed a cab at the border and it's still $5. Things are cleaned up a lot in the Zona but it still has more or less the same feel except its better lit and not quite as seedy. I hit 4 bars: Trop, Chicago, Adelitas and of course Hong Kong.
Tropical seemed almost exactly as I remembered it. I went in and ordered a Dos Equis and the masero brought 2 bottles but it only cost $4. I guess there's a 2 drink minimum but for $4 total I didn't mind. What I did mind is that I felt sort of invisible in there. I know I could have just walked up to one of the girls sitting in the row near the stage, but I was trying to see if one would show some interest, but none did and none were particularly attractive, so out I went.
Chicago used to be my favorite and even after reading about its demise I had to take a look. I actually went in twice, having a beer the second time. There was a really unattractive, pudgy, small breasted, oddly shaped girl dancing. There were maybe 20 girls in there total, and maybe 2 or 3 reasonably attractive ones. If you did meet up with a good girl though, I think it's a nice place to hang out if for no other reason than the music isn't blaring and it's a bit quieter. I think it was their 40th anniversary or something as they had a bunch of balloons and other stuff decorating the place.
I had a few beers in Adelitas too, and it hasn't changed that much except for the nice back room bar but hardly anyone was in there tonight. There were many really hot girls in the main bar though, but the place wasn't as crowded as it used to be on Friday nights. Just because I'm spending so much time with tiny Asian girls, I decided to go for something different and sat with one of the mega-voluptuous girls with humongous tits and the big bubble butt, a body type that you never get in Thailand or the Philippines. She was nice and promised all kinds of pleasures and I almost took her up on her offer to go upstairs.
Hong Kong is the place that really blew me away. Wow, it's way bigger and better than before and I had a lot of fun in there. I had some fun by the stages getting some $1 gropes. I finally hooked up with an older girl from Acapulco with an amazing ass. I bought her a drink and she was grinding that terrific latina ass into my lap and rubbing my crotch and letting me suck her little tits and even doing some LFK. So she had me sold.
The one thing is that the masero tried to convince me to take her to the Miami 'private room' or something like that (it was definitely associated with Miami). He said the cost was '10 drinks' and since I was paying $8 a drink for her, I assume that meant $80. He said I could fuck her, and I'm pretty sure he said watch the show too which I didn't understand. I asked, why would I pay $80 for that when we could go to the hotel for $60 and he said because I'd get a whole hour instead of 30 minutes. I didn't ask if I had to give the girl extra though. I assume there's no shower too, so I don't think it's something I want to do. I knew most guys on this board use the hotel so that's what I opted for.
After we had a really great GFE session in the hotel, I grabbed a cab for my ride back to La Linea and walked over the new pedestrian bridge for the first time.
Overall I had a really good time. For less than the price of a 1-hour session with an escort on our side of the border, I had 3 hours of fun in the bars and 30 minutes of extreme fun with my girl. In fact I think I'm going to head down again tomorrow / Saturday night!

Posts: 118Religious Devotion in La Zona Norte
Interesting FR, Phordphan, and you aren't the only one left baffled by the religious ironies of the 'Ladies of Tiujana'. It reminded me of something I observed on my day-trips to Tijuana as described here recently on this thread. On two occasions I saw two different chicas accept payment from me after a session in Cascadas, only to immediately make the sign of the cross and kiss the back of their hand holding the money.
This act of religious piety right after some deep, and I mean DEEP, 'carnal knowledge' of 'yours truly' seemed a bit odd and out of place at the time. But I figured what-the-hell, who am I to question someone else's belief system?
Monger safe, Fellas, and remember to bring along those 'rain coats'.

Phordmhan thanks for that humorous report but my question is what escort service gave you a mid day overnite service?

I have known several in Mexico and still don't understand how a "devout" Catholic can be a prostitute. Lots of time in the confession booth or what?

After we left that church we shopped some, and she took me to another church a few blocks away. This church was also operating, and easily seats 1500+ persons. My squeeze stopped and chatted a robed gent, who spoke no english. She translated that he said the church runs 5 masses a day. 6 days per week, always full, and 7 masses on Sunday. This church also had an anteroom with plexiglass case containing papal stuff, and a life-size cross / jesus (upright) , with another large line of poor pilipino dropping a few pesos in the 'contribution' box.
This thing of lining up to get into church, or to pay / pray at the cross, by the thousands, was my first real insight into the devoutness of roman catholics. Given the large number of (physically large) catolic churches in Manila, its probably an understatement that tens of thousands of filipinos (possibly many times that number) are making their way to church on any given day. So THAT'S where all those asians are going!
I'm guessing the mexicans are in the same mode.

Posts: 3192I need my head examined
I'm a lazy bastard, and have been lax in posting TRs. So, I'll try to catch up.
I decided to to an overnight a few weeks ago, when it was raining so badly. I wanted to cancel, but I'd already booked the Ticuan, bought train tix, etc.
It was clear and a bit chilly when I left, but by the time I got to SAN it was raining pretty hard. It let up by the tmie the trolley got to SY, but picked up again about the time I started to cross that f*cking bridge. By the time I got over I was pretty wet. I was kicking myself all the way for forgetting a hat.
Just past the old overpass entrance there were a bunch of jackbooted faggots, in cool-ass sunglasses and doing their best to look like real hard-asses. Obviously looking for dangerous persons, but more obviously afraid of geting their snazzy uniforms wet. So, they were all crowded under that overhang.
Finally got to Ticuan, my TLN was waiting for me. Got the the room, got my wet jacket off, and started to warm up a bit. I'm getting revved up when she tells me that there is something she absolutely, positively has to see at the church. She says it's there at 4:00, and that it's some stuff Pope John Paul II used to own. I'm not too thrilled, but she promises it will only take a little bit and we'll come back immediately. Then she drops to her knees and starts administrating a very good BBBJ, with promises of more to come. Had I known then. But it sounded like some sort of historical collection of interesting artefacts.
She then says she needs my coat, as her giant furry one is too long and she trips over it. Lucky for me I brought a nice warm pull-over sweater, just in case. So, we go out and grab a cab. Of course, the TJPD has like a 3-block area around the church cordoned off, so we have to get out and walk in the pouring rain.
Surrounding the church (and inside) are all manner of trinket sales people, selling giant photos of JP2, rosaries in little boxes with his picture on it, etc, etc. And they were doing a brisk business.
Of course we get there at 4:20 and whatever we were supposed to see is gone. I see a poster on the wall, and deduce that this traveling show will be at the new cathedral at 5:00. So, I tell her that we should go there and see it. What a huge mistake.
After a long-ass ride in the rain (where she tells the cabbie she's thirsty and insists he hop out and go into an OXXO to buy her a soda) we get to the cathedral. It's about 4:45-ish and there is already a long line. So, we get into said line. Thank God the rain stopped. But a wonderfully cold sharp wind came up.
The line started moving at 5:00, just as advertised. It moved a fair amount, thens stopped dead at 5:15. And we stood in that fucking line, wet and freezing, for almost another 90 minutes. All the while vendors worked the crowd, selling these huge posters, suitable for framing, of JP2. You got to be kidding. You're going to hang that where?
I was getting seriously pissed off. My back was tightening up, my feet hurt and I told her if we don't start moving by 6:30 I was going back to the hotel and she could meet me there. But it started moving at exactly 6:30, and we were inside about 6:45.
The line wandered down the stairs, through some under-construction parts of the cathedral, and into a wide area. OK. Finally going to get to see this neat-o collection of stuff.
In a wide spot was a funeral bier, made of fancy metal and porcelain, with JP2 painted on the porcelain ovals on the sides and ends. On top was a plexiglas box with a fucking statue of JP2, wearing the papal robes, or some shit. And people were crowding around this creepy-assed thing, touching the top, muttering to themselves, and practically swooning. What the ever-loving fuck? She's all excited and starts taking photos and hanging around it. One of the ushers is trying to get me to move along, but she's dawdling. I figure the good stuff is up the hallway a bit. But NOOOOOO!
We walk up the hall and suddenly I find myself outside in a parking lot. I lost it. I turned to her and said is that it? We stood in line for TWO FUCKING HOURS to see that?
She looked very hurt and I was sorry I lost it. She said she was sorry, I told her that I thought, based on all the hoopla that it was something a LOT bigger than a fake pope in a box. But the fun wasn't over. Then we had to hoof half-way around the Plaza Rio area untile we could catch a cab to the PR shopping center where I made a beeline to Starbucks.
After some hot coffee, and a movie at the VIP, I felt better. Took a collectivo back to Centro, had some delicious tacos in front of the Ticuan, and off to bed for some debauchery and sleep.
Next day, another round, shower and out the door. The line at noon was all the way around the corner and then some. I just whipped out my SENTRI and bypassed all of it.
I always laughed when I read stories of Mexicans (and other Catholics) flocking to see the Virgin Mary in a water stain under a bridge, or some other nonsense. I had a hard time believing people were that gullible. But, if nothing else, I got a good education thsi trip. They are! And I got to see it up close and personal. Wow! Added bonus. I DIDN"T get pneumonia!
