Now is the time to use pesos

Hong Kong uses 11 to 1 for their exchange rate, Chicago Club uses 12 to 1 for theirs. I don't know what it is at Adelita but I am sure it is somewhere in that range. If you can buy pesos at 12.5 at a casa de cambio and ask for change in pesos from the meseros (not maseros) you are ahead of the game. My bank does not charge a foreign transaction fee for ATM card useage (some banks do which can be as much as 3%). Right now from the ATM, I am getting pesos at 13.5 to one. This means that when I buy an 88 peso ficha drink ($8 at 11 to 1) in Hong Kong it is costing me around $6.50. Or if I buy an 84 peso ficha drink at Chicago ($7 at 12 to 1) it is costing me about $6.22. But be careful, if your bank charges a foreign transaction fee, this could take away all of the advantage. I searched for a bank that does not charge a foreign transaction fee just for this reason.

Even if the girls insist on 12 to 1 exchange rate on their in room services (most do but some still go at 10 to 1 which is great) 720 pesos for the $60 service fee is only $53 at 13.5 to 1. And at the end of the weekend, if I have any pesos left over, I cash them in at a casa de cambio for between 12.5 and 13 to 1, which means I get back more dollars than I paid for those pesos through the ATM machine.

As an example, last Thursday I purchased new tires and a front end alignment in Tijuana. At the exchange rate at the llantera it would have been $832. I used my ATM card as a credit card and it cost me $683.

Now is the time to use pesos!

I used pesos for drinks for quite awhile, but stopped because I never seemed to get the proper change back from the maseros, even the ones that I knew didn't seem to be able to convert the exchange rate worth a damn. So now I use dollars for drinks, but tip in pesos. And I always use pesos for the bar and street girls.

I think it might be because I have been going down there for so long, I kinda play their game. I don't like it but, I guess it becomes part of nature there.

I try to use peso's whenever I'am in Mexico. Doesn't matter what city.

Quackup it may help save you time if you tell them what you're going to pay, that is if you know the rates. Otherwise they think you don't know. I've never had a taxi driver tell me no that's too low it's more. I have gotten some cheaper rides by saying if you want I would pay this but I prefer to walk but in the end it's a few pennies really.

On a side note are any of the guys that go often using pesos more now. I heard today the exchange is 15-1, that's a huge change in a short time.

    Okay, here are my thoughts:

Thanksgiving isn't a holiday in Mexico so it shouldn't be too crowded. It is a border city so they'll probably have some minor Thanksgiving promotions and stuff going on. But overall it shouldn't be much different from a normal weekend.

I'm almost certain public transportation operates on Thanksgiving. I would definitely take the Blue Line trolley to / from the border. $5 vs. $100 cab round trip. That $95 could buy some fun in Tijuana. Would you rather have $95 in your pocket or the taxi driver's? The answer is obvious for me. Make sure you buy a ticket-I've seen security officers on board checking for tickets. Also, the 992 bus sometimes takes forever to arrive, especially with the reduced schedule on holidays. The wait can be up to 45 minutes. Here's a tip. There is a major rental car company, whose name will remind you of the city of San Antonio. Hop on one of their shuttles and it will take you within steps of the Middletown trolley station. Whatever you do please do not pay more than $3 + $1 tip for a taxi to / from border / Zona / hotel / Plaza Rio. Do not get in a cab (sit in front seat) until you've been quoted $3. If you're quoted $5 walk away and find another one of the 5000 cabs in the area that will take you for $3.

As far as budget, everyone is different. I'd say a minimum of $150 / night for food / drink/"entertainment"/temporary housing. I usually go out with $200. $250 and come back with $50. $100 although I almost never session with chicas at all.

I would recommend just bringing all you anticipate spending in dollars with you at the begining, and an ATM card as backup. I would avoid ATM's if possible (fraud / currency conversion fees, etc.) For a newbie, don't worry about exchanging for Pesos. It's a pain in the ass too but I suppose it can save you a couple of bucks. But not worth it to me. Especially if you have Pesos left over at the end of your trip. You can't use them in USA so you just end up giving them away to homeless / maid / girls anyway so there goes your savings.

As far as hotels I would recommend Ticuan hands down. It's equivalent to a 3. 5 star hotel in America, like Hilt*and or Doubletr. Has in-room safe, flat screens, restaurant / bar, quiet AC and decently reliable American cell phone signals on higher floors on NW side of building. Plus you can walk to Caliente, Sanbourns, Amnesia and Las Pulgas. No pool / fitness center though. Some people walk to the Zona from Ticuan but that's way too far for me. I walked down just to the arch once and it took like 30 minutes. You don't want to stay in the Zona. Although fun, it is filthy and full of con-men and drug addicts.

Don't worry about sourcing Viagra and the like. Pharmacies are everywhere-expect $8-$12 per. Your flight leaves at 5 AM or PM on Sunday? I'm assuming AM. Expect 1:15 trolly / bus ride to airport, :30 wait in line, :15 ride from hotel to border. These estimates are generous-it shouldn't really take you that long. So assuming you have to be at the airport a 4 AM, you should depart the Zona around 2 AM. There will be a large amount of girls available at 1 AM.

I'm actually going to be there for Thanksgiving weekend too. Can't wait to check it out myself.

Walked first to H / k. Not sure what it is but H / k wasn't doing it for me. I actually got bored after a while and left for another club. Maybe it was like when A / be was the shits and so crowded with people you couldn't even walk. But back then, I got tired of A / be and had more fun at L / see and T / be, and the old H / k. Hopefully it just a phase I'am going through.

I walked over to L / see. Went into T / be. So left to A / be. Will write about that in the A / be section.

After A / be, went over to C / see where I had a great time.
Yeah I hate being scammed too. The only thing I do different is if I get quoted $5 to begin with, I just walk away and find another taxi. I don't even give the first guy a chance to come down to $3. I think it might teach them a lesson on trying to rip off Americans. If more people did the same, I think we'd see a lot less $5 quotes.

And Quackup, with all due respect, what the heck do you mean by "H / k" "A / be" "L / see" "T / be"? I imagine "H / k" means Hong Kong but the others I can't figure out. Adelita? Tropical?

It isn't a holiday in Mexico, of course and many mongers will be home with their families that weekend. Then again, some mongers will make a run for Tijuana to escape their families. So I've noticed it to be a typical weekend. Note that everyone in Baja California with a visa to visit the United States will be in San Diego shopping for Black Friday weekend deals. So the line to get back into the US might be longer than a typical Sunday. None of these things are deal killers though.

My second question is if this is a good weekend to go how much should I budget for. My eyes may be bigger than my libido but I would like to session two to three times a day with girls while I am there.
There should be a full compliment of girls since it is getting close to Christmas and many girls will go back to their home cities for the holiday and will want to make as much money as they can before they leave. I budget $100 / session which includes the bar girl (HK or AB) , room, my drinks, her drinks (I tend not to go upstairs w / o having a drink or two to ensure I'll have a good time). Some guys only bang $15 street girls. You'll need to budget according to your tastes and how much extracurricular activities you indulge in (extra drinks, food, etc)

Third question should I exchange my dollars before I leave and take all of the money I will need for the weekend with me. Should I take all of the money I will need for the weekend with me and exchange it once I get to Tijuana, if so where. Or should I just take enough for the first day and then get the rest from ATMs, is so what ATMs should I use, where are they located.
Dollars are widely accepted in the big bars in Zona Norte and there's not much of an advantage of using pesos at the moment. Most ATMs in Tijuana only dispense pesos (some will ask if you want dollars). For me the big thing about ATMs is although their exchange rate is great, many banks will tack on international currency fees. My bank has an agreement with HSBC in Mexico and I can use the ATM next door to Adelita Bar w / o paying a surcharge (well, HSBC does charge me a few pesos to use their machine, but it is cheaper than using my bank's competitor banks in the US). Check with your bank.

Fourth question if Thanksgiving weekend is a good time to go I would like to stay in Tijuana for the weekend, In my researche I have narrowed it down to the hotel cascadas the one used for the Hong Kong club, the hotel RIzo De Oro which I believe is above the Tropicana bar, the hotel Leyva which I believe is next to the Chicago club, or the hotel Ticuan which is the most expensive one. Which one would you recommend.
Cascadas is the nicest hotel in the Zona but it isn't that nice. When I would visit Tijuana on weekend trips I'd stay in Pueblo Amigo (walk to the border for the trip back home) or the Marriott. Today, I'd probably add Ticuan to the list. In my mongering I prefer to sleep in a nice hotel away from the action and didn't mind taking a taxi to / from the zona.

Fifth question where can I get Viagra preferably kemagra (sp?) in the zone and what would the price be.
I'm only aware of the generic Viagra branded as Maxifort being sold. You can get them for $2-4 depending on the farmacia and quantity. The pharmacies just off Revo tend to be a little cheaper than the places on Revo.

Sixth question my flight leaves San Diego at 5. M on Sunday, I would like to have one last session early Sunday morning before I leave. Will any one be available Sunday morning, if so where.
The Zona does not close. However it does slow down so the quantity and quality of girls are limited. There tend to be only a few alley girls and club girls working that shift so expect the second or third string squad. Having done what you've done in the past, I know how you'll want to get one last one off before heading home, but before moving to SD, I decided I'd rather have my final session the night before when there are the best options. But I'm a stickler for looks and your tastes may differ.

Seventh question does the bus from the airport and the trolley run on Thanksgiving day.
Typically the bus / trolley runs on a Sunday schedule on holidays. As the date approaches you can confirm this on the MTS website (

    http://www.sdmts.com/

    ).

If you get to the pedestrian line on the morning you're leaving and it is really long, you'll find guys offering rides in their van / bus for $5. This can get you to the head of the line for 2+ hour wait times. I did this once on Memorial Day weekend when I got to the line and it was nearly all the way to Pueblo Amigo and I had a flight to catch from LAX. Made my flight (barely). Most of the time you spend doing this is waiting for them to sell out the rest of the seats. For me it was about 20 minutes from the time the guy came up to me in line and I was talking to the CBP agent.

I walked over to L / see. The live band was playing and it was to loud for me so left there to get something to eat. Went back to Cheripan. Got my fill and went back to the zona.

Went into T / be, I couldn't find the chica who I had a great time with last time. Had a drink, nothing aroused me so left to A / be. I will write about that in the A / be section.

After A / be, went over to C / see where I had a great time. You can read the adventure on that thread.

    OK. In no particular order.

The border wait is hellacious on Sunday. Give yourself 2 hours to get across. It may be less, but it shouldn't be more. The trolley takes about 45 minutes to get from San Ysidro to America Plaza (I assume you'll be getting the trolley there). Not sure how long the bus takes, maybe 30 minutes? And 1. 5 hours at the airport. So, you may need to start your trip back around noon-ish on Sunday. This is a worst-case scenario, but better to be a bit early.

Thanksgiving is not a holiday in Mexico, so there will be plenty of opportunity. Of course, there may be a lot of customers, too. Prices will be same as always. This is Mexico. Negotiate a bit. Tijuana is never crowded with gringos anymore. Haven't you heard? Narcotraficantes lurk around every corner, waiting to kill unsuspecting turistas. So, except for a couple of clubs, on weekends, you will find no crowds.

Why anybody wants to sleep overnight in the zona is beyond me. If you must then Cascadas is probably the best of the ones you mentioned. Ticuan is nice and comfortable. Also, Hotel Espana and Caesar, both on Revu, almost opposite one another. Not as nice as Ticuan, but clean and comfortable, and a bit cheaper.

Budget $60 per session. You can get them cheaper. In some cases, much cheaper. Don't know how much you drink, and if you like chatting with the ladies before and after. But it can be easy to blow through the better part of $100 in ficha drinks in a long afternoon / evening / night. And whatever you like to drink. So, $300 - $400 per day might suffice.

An ATM is better, but if your card gets eaten, you're screwed. Because it won't happen in the middle of a weekday, but on Saturday night. Take a bunch of money, and an ATM for a backup.

Lots of ED meds all up and down Revu. Just ask. Many have prices posted. It's not expensive. Avoid the men's room viagra. Maybe it's real, maybe not.

Plenty of street action on Sundays. The clubs will be a bit slow before noon.

Can't help with the bus on Thanksgiving thing.

    Good luck

  13. #5608
First answer is. I think I'll answer them all in general. Just like anywhere else mongering in the world there is no good or bad time, because each day is different. So my first question for you is, why would you fly to San Diego and put yourself on a budget for mongering? Lots of guys can drive there, myself I fly there like you. I do not think budget when I visit because I do not know when the next time I will be there is. In a weekend fri-Sunday I would normally spend around $1500 you could do it for a lot less and a lot more because you can pay $10 for a girl or $250, same with drinks, food, hotel. Very broad range. I personally would take a taxi if I was you, it's only $50. Why dink around with all that other stuff wasting valuable time? I've never purchased viagra, but if I did I would get it only from a pharmacy I think it runs around $20 for a couple pills, but you can buy it in the bathroom at HK so it's easy to find.

If there's one thing I recommend more than anything is not to stay in the zone, I love Ticuan but there are other hotels to pick also. I'm not saying mongers don't do it but I can not in a million years figure out how it's possible I have a hard time fucking in those nasty beds let alone sleeping down there. It is going to be loud, Tijuana never sleeps so for your last question you can get a girl at anytime. But I think you are under estimating the wait at the border you will probably have to leave the night before to make it to the airport in time Sunday and Monday morning are some of the busiest times. Also the train I think stops running from like 3-5am, could be wrong though. The money thing I personally would bring the cash with me, but you need to stay at a nice hotel with a safe then. The reason I say that is if you go to the ATM and it keeps your card (this is mexico not US it's very possible) you are most likely screwed. Well I would be I only know one of my cards pin numbers. There's a couple hotels on Revolution that are pretty cheap like $20 / night but I think they'd be really loud. Ticuan is $50 and they have all the bases covered you will be safe, feel comfortable, they have back up generators, it's a good place and only 10min walk to HK with viagra all along the way. Also a rub and tug across the street and amnesia and New Body within 4 blocks. Happy mongering, it's really a much better mongering destination than people give it credit for.
