I've been there during New Years Eve. The bars are noticeably slower but not with customers. AB was wall to wall with customers towards the night. I remember the ratio being something like 4 guys to every 1 girl. And there where like only 5 girls that where bang worthy. It was pretty bad. Also the thought that any of these girls would already have 10 customers before me was a real turn off.

Things started picking up around 10pm though when the new shift of girls came in. A whole bunch of girls started showing up so it became more like 2 guys to 1 girl. I picked up a fresh girl so I was her first customer.

They didn't do anything special for New Years except do a count down. But I was only in Ab so I don't know what the other bars do.

Yes they all take dollars. Everywhere in Tj they will accept US currency. The bars will quote everything in dollars including the hotels and the girls. The majority of their customers are Americans after all.

IMHO the best exchange rates are given "outside" the revolucion area. If you venture away from the tourist areas you will see them. Some offer a noticable difference. Even san isidro had a slightly better rate.

Also keep in mind that some supermarkets "sonriana" and restauraunts offer you a much higher exchange rate so dollars are preferable.

You WILL want a stack of singles(maybe 5's) for HK club (don't leave home without them!). I prefer to use dollars to buy beers in strip clubs and pesos for local establishments. That way you dont get into an exchange issue when you are partying.

Just so you know there are several internet cafes on revolucion. There is one open 24hrs a block from las pulgas nightclub. The others are open rather late until 10:30pm.

Prices are very reasonable.

If all you are basing your hotel stay on is internet access I'd go for a cheaper room and use the internet cafes. Just my two cents.

The weather has been warmer so I made a quick run down to TJ this afternoon, crossed over at about 2-30, cab to HKs and started what will be my last trip of 09. HK was flat, a few girls dancing, various hags clawing at the guys, begging for drinks and dollars. You can get an hour massage on Ave Rev at either Viva or Aztec for 300 pesos. You can get BG for 30 minutes for 600-700 pesos. Yes they are above normal prices. Is it worth getting both services for a higher price? I really dought it but YMMV.

You're probably right. However, I got an hour and 15 minutes with a pretty, responsive girl for the MX$1250 with no rush at all. No knock or anything, even when we went on after the allotted time.
