Surfer, you can get around the 30 minute rule with a chica and go for a TLN session if you play your cards right. You sound like you have a lot of experience with this in Columbia and Peru, so I won't bore you with what I think is the best approach. However, I will tell you that your best chances for TLN in TJ is to go off the beaten track a bit into the clubs that are rarely or never mentioned on this board.

If you want TLN, forget about AB, CC or HK. The real TLN gold in TJ is mined in the clubs where the locals hang. There, with few gringos, you will be a bit more of a novelty and the girls will likely be semi-pro or even amateurs working for a few extra pesos. Many will leave with you for TLN for quite a reasonable (by TJ standards) price. I rarely pay more than $100 for a TLN session, and even then I could probably bargain lower, but my guilty conscience does not allow it. My advice is to have a good hotel room lined up in advance so you have a place to go, and go early so that you can spend some time evaluating and getting to know the girl. She will feel more comfortable with you, and more likely to go TLN, if you have chatted a bit with her and had a drink or two. TJ isn't South America or Eastern Europe, but it is still possible to have a really great time for relatively cheap. Have fun!

I can remember reading this message board 5 years ago and people were saying absolutely don't walk alone to and from the border at night. All I'm saying is it seems safer now, and I'm not taking taxis anymore.
I bought some Viagra last week, and no way was I going to walk around with it at night. I stayed overnight and walked back to the border the next day.
China, you are absolutely right about the cops in TJ. Yes, they are all crooked, but since you were smart enough to read this forum before going over, you also know what you should and should not be carrying. As long as you have photo ID and are NOT carrying any kind of drug or weapon, then you should be fine. I say should, because if you are under the influence of too much alcohol or drugs or if you are a beligerent asshole then they can and will detain you and even throw you in jail. I have been stopped twice now, and while it was a bit scary I just stayed cool and tried my best to act respectful. I was frisked, but after they checked my ID and determined that I was not carrying anything they just let me go.

In general, I think it's best to avoid the police in TJ, and this is definitely true at night when, under the cover of darkness, the police really take advantage of gringos. It's best to avoid walking by the cops at night if there is nobody else around, since in that scenario they almost definitely will stop and frisk you. For my take, I think you're totally fine walking during the day, but at night, especially late at night, you may want to consider taking a cab to the border just to avoid the hassle of being frisked. As long as you're clean, nothing will probably come of it, but why bother with hassle as well as taking the risk of them planting something on you. For $3, it can be avoided.

A VERY reasoned and calm response, thanks CJ.

For the record I was NOT referring to your responses to Steve (more it was Rookie51's posts to which I was refering). You obviously have paid your dues in TJ so you get the best it has to offer.

While I have been going there on and off for 30 years (I was literally 14 on my first trip and will NEVER forget seeing the streetwalkers and HEARING about the infamous donkeyshow), I have never really gotten that deep into it. I did have a regular at the long defunct 5th Avenue Massage (up on the hill), but TJ was always a "filler" for me inbetween trips to more exotic venues.

I find it erratic; some nights I have a GREAT time and think "this aint so bad", but other nights I leave thinking "why do I even bother"?

Cheers CJ; I'll report back next week on how this weekend goes although I doubt I will run into you (as you no longer go to the Barrio Norte). I have gone to the Clubs near Aguas Calientes Race Track, La Cueva del Peludo is the one I remember, and there are VERY few gringos over there, yet it is still ST based and I MUCH prefer the all nighters I get in South America. There is NOTHING I hate more than the dreaded knock on the door to announce your time is up (often BEFORE the 30 minutes has expired, especially on busy weekend nights-I now state the time, in Spanish, when we arrive so if the knock comes early I start screaming at them in Spanish that my 30 minutes is not up until X o clock. )

There is still a lot to like there, and when you find that one gem among the rhinestones (as it sounds like you have) you really need search no further.

Hello Surfer and thanks for your input. I'm not sure "flaming" would be an appropriate characterization in the responses to Steve's posts.

What I got was not an "opinion" as much as an attempt to present the uninitiated with a factual reality when in fact the reality is somewhat in contrast. This is what was pointed out to Steve by myself and I beilive a few others with a bit more time on the street.

Certainly TJ is not for everyone but those of us who have "tamed the beast" through hard work and dedication to the hobby have discovered that, when you turn the thing over, it's got a real soft and tender side (if you know what I mean).

I read Steve's TR with great interest. I'm always interested in the opinion of others with much experience in other markets. While I am no globe-trotter, I've mongered far and wide but now have a house in TJ where I've settled in well and experienced mucu of what others miss on a short swing through.

I don't want anyone to mis-understand or mis-interpret an opinion expressed incidental to a short term visit as the gospel truth when there is so much more to know.

    Be safe and be nice

    Everything is Relative

All this flaming of Steve for giving his honest opinion about TJ is unfair. Hate to break it to mongers who have only the US to compare it to but TJ is very mediocre as a mongering destination. NOT because there are no hotties, IMHO there are lots of hotties, but because:

    1) ST is the norm;
    2) paranoia about posting of nude pictures on the web and getting STDs from giving bbbjTC is high;
    3) supply and demand (too many gringo sex tourists comparing prices to the US!).

What I find ironic is that Steve compares TJ to "Costa Rica and Panama, where I do most of my mongering". While CR & Panama may be a bit better than TJ, they are still "latin lite" (i.e. for guys without the Spanish skills or the cojones to go to the REAL MONGERING PARADISES FURTHER SOUTH). I went to Costa Rica once in 1988 and it was filled with non Spanish speaking ugly Americans EVEN BACK THEN! Been to Panama a few times in the early 90s to surf, and got my first taste of Colombianas (this was the Miami Vice era when Colombia was much more dangerous than now), but once you taste Colombiana in her natural element the overpriced ones in Panama City and San Jose will lose all appeal.

Guys go to CR and Panama because they are perceived as safe, you can get by just speaking English, and flights from the wasteland are numerous.

Peru & Colombia are SO MUCH BETTER that to compare them to Costa Rica or Panama is an exercise in futilty.

I quite enjoy TJ for what it is, a very convenient place to monger for a weekend or so that blows doors on the repressed wasteland. But for guys taking an actual vacation for the purpose of mongering, GO SOUTH!

I would not usually admit this on a forum read by so many American sex tourists but the cat is out of the bag so to speak. While I still love Colombia, as a mongering destination it has lost a LOT of its appeal over the last 4 or 5 years due to the influx. Read ISG's Colombia folders, Medellin and Cartagena in particular, and you'll see what I mean.

Everything being relastive, however, the number of gringo sex tourists on the ground is less than 1% of the number in TJ on any given night.

    SENTRI pass

My as yet unprocessed application is already 10 months old. It used to be that you could call up the SENTRI office there in Otay to check on the status of an application. But now they have a voice message with no option of speaking to a Border Patrol agent. I did leave a message.

I can only hope that government agent who listens to it is in a good mood and determines from the sound of my voice that I am a decent person worthy of the basic needs of human life such as stale breadsticks and moldy drinking water. If that happens, maybe they'll decide to call me back and tell me just what the hell is up. If not, I'll have to go there myself and inquire in person.

I hear that the new online system may not be up and running until early 2007. That information is heresay, and not verified. If that is true, anyone aspiring to obtain a SENTRI pass will just have to wait until then.

Unless they've changed their message recently it says they're IN THE PROCESS of going to an online system.

Your tax dollars sound asleep. Sentri passes are running between 8 and 12 months. The best way to check status is to walk up to the booth at the crossing and ask the nice guard to check for you. Ask in a polite way, like you're kissing his ass. They love believeing that your happiness depends on their charity. Mutherfuckers.

Anyone have any current SENTRI pass info?

I applied for my SENTRI pass many a moon ago. Today I called them up to find out what's taking so long, and I was unable to talk to a live person. That was a first. I've called a ton of times in the last few months to check on the status of my application, and I was always able to speak to a Border Patrol agent.

    super-hot bleach blonde in Adelitas

[QUOTE=China 69]super-hot bleach blonde long haired chic surrounded by several other hotties. I saw her turn down or blow off at least 8 other guys and she kept looking at me and smiling as I stood 10 feet away. I know the rule not to go for the hottest girl in the club but I went up to her anyway. Her name is I think Aileen.

I saw her this weekend and I swear she had a look on her puss like she was weened on a pickle. My cousins were all over her giving showering this braod with attention, but I could see that this one was colder that the ice in my drink. I wound up talking to this other girl that was sitting at the bar next to the dance floor. Really cool chick. Went up stairs with her and had a great time. GFE all the way.

Oh, and most of the hotter girls do have C-scars. Fucking road map to ED. Next time turn her around or doggy style it, or just keep the light off.

China 69, the reason you were treated light-handedly is because you did not fit the profile of a stoopid drunkin Americano who has no respect for Mexico etc.

    Sept TJ Report

I have not been to Tijuana in a few years but I finally made it back recently. I just moved to S.D., and I have been to Zona Norte about 6 times in the first 2 weeks I've been here.
I found that it has become much safer to walk to and from the border. At any time of the night it is well lit and there are police posted along the way. I felt perfectly safe walking alone back to the border even very late at night. It's only a 10 minute walk so I won't be wasting money on taxis anymore.
Anyway, I went straight to CC the first night and met Tania, a 19 y.o. from Mexico city with a smokin' hot teenage body. Really nice, kind of shy girl, but spoke no english so we had to get by with what's left of my high-school spanish. She's fun and sweet and even guided my hand down to play with her for a while before we started. I have never had a CC or AB girl do that before. The only thing I didn't like was that she jumps out of bed and runs into the shower and cleans her pussy out for 5 minutes right after I finish. Oh yeah and the other thing I don't like is her long untrimmed pubic hair. Yuck. I told her she should shave or trim it but she says doesn't want to.
All of the worst girls I've ever had in Tijuana have been at Adelitas but I decided to give it another chance. Went in there on a busy Friday night and hung out and there was a super-hot bleach blonde long haired chic surrounded by several other hotties. I saw her turn down or blow off at least 8 other guys and she kept looking at me and smiling as I stood 10 feet away. I know the rule not to go for the hottest girl in the club but I went up to her anyway. Her name is I think Aileen or something that sounds like that, and she doesn't speak much english. After about 30 seconds of small talk she asked me to go upstairs and I agreed. It was the absolute worst experience I have ever had. Turns out she wasn't quite as good looking in better lighting. She had a Cesarian scar and stretch marks. She would not take her bra off. Her friendly attitude disappeared. She was annoyed that I wanted to take a quick shower first. She refused to do any position but mish. When we started fucking she put her fingers down around her pussy so I couldn't go all the way in! And she wouldn't open her legs all the way and she's like pushing me away. After about 60 seconds she's like "hurry up and finish" and I'm like how can I finish with you doing that? I could not finish with her hand down there and pushing me away and I got really pissed so I just stopped and rolled over and she got up put her clothes on, didn't clean up at all and said goodbye and just walked out leaving me there in the room still undressed. I suppose I could have complained and b*tched about it but I didn't. If you see a hot bleach-blond long-haired girl name Aileen DO NOT GO WITH HER!
After that horrible experience, the next 2 times I went back to Tania at CC and had a good time.
The next time in TJ I checked out AB again. I was going to find Aileen and stand next to her and warn guys to stay away, but she wasn't there. Instead I met a totally cool sexy girl named Lucia from Ensenada. She had large fake breasts which I don't like but she was a great time. She speaks excellent english. She likes all positions. She says she is bi and has a couple of girlfriends. After we finished she said "why don't you go back downstairs and have another beer and pick another girl, I'm not jealous". I said no thanks but how about next time I come, you hook me up with one of your friends and she said ok.
Maybe I've written too much so I'll end the report now. If anyone wants to meet up for a whoring trip to TJ, give me a PM.

Morditas are not a "problem" in Mexico, they are a "way of life." This is also true for many other countries of the world. You really should re-consider your position.

For about $20. you could have continued on your journey if doing so was worth $20. Perhaps it was more efficient and ecomonical for you to return to the USA then attempt to re-enter. You shouldn't blame the Mexican government because YOUR paperwork was not in order. I've lived in TJ for a year with expired registration, the car is still not registered. Total morditas paid: $38.80. My girlfriend doesn't have a license to drive. When she gets stopped by TJPD she usually talks her way out but once she paid a $15.00 mordita.

Riddle me this: What is the ticket for driving on expired registration in California?

It's no secret that cops in TJ are probably the most underpaid civil servants anywhere. The guys at the border are similar. When they take these jobs, they know the pay is low but the rewards can make up for that. One way is to be able to grant access, another is to "decline to enforce or cite." You see, you're not guilty until you accused.
