Good point. I had a Tijuana GF grab my phone one time and run into the bano. She was clever where did she find the dirt. ? She went into my google translate history. So remember to delete your translate history if you have a GF who might get into your phone. I learned the hard way.

Ah I see. In that case idk if that is even worth the trouble. At 2000 pesos, I'm saving like less than $4 as opposed to just paying $100 USD.

I guess over time it could add up if you frequent enough. But then again, you're not really getting the exchange rate you see on google so its likely even less.

I too am not pleased with the price hikes.

BUT, the good news is exchange rate has moved in our favor so paying for many services have not gone up when paying with Pesos.

Example: paying for the girls is constant because their peso prices have gone up 20% but the exchange rate has gone up 10% - so the net price increase is 10% in pesos.

I pay for hotel Cascadas in pesos and the gals in pesos.

If the prices keep going up I am sure they will start loosing business. Example: I may reduce my frequency or length of hotel stays.

Towards the end there's a fairly big surprise on the nature of the murder that even I didn't know about (and I was in Tijuana literally the day after it happened and know a couple of girls who were friends with the victim). Made what was already a sad story even sadder. Also, dude who wrote the article met up with Luke Powell, who apparently showed him around the club and Zona Norte a bit.

I don't think they are hurting for business. Every time I go down, they always have packed tables of dudes getting buckets of beers and bottle service. I don't drink in the clubs and only for touch and feel. I went to a bar / restaurant in Tijuana with other locals and the bottle service for Don Julio 70 and misc. Food came out to $220-250. We were both wasted and she couldn't remember what happened the night before. I could recall details better than when I'm on weed, but alcohol killed my performance.

This is pretty much the whole ballgame, I think. There's still plenty of people that flood down there on the weekend, who think that even the raised prices are a steal. Unless you've got serious game, there's nowhere in SoCal where you and your bros can go get blitzed and bang a stripper for about $200.

I remember going to an out of state Strip Club like 10 years ago, getting completely smashed with a few friends and buying random people drinks, and then laughing incessantly when the bar tab came back. We each dropped $100, and the next night, when we went back to get drunk again and watch naked girls dance, the waitresses got into an argument with the hostess about who's rotation it actually was to serve us. We did this trip four more times until it became a scheduling nightmare for everyone involved. Wish we had known then about what was available just south of the border.

So if HK ever wonder why they are selling less drinks, someone explain it to them. Some HK fuckhead in management came up with the idea of telling girls they can get $100 to lure more girls. Well, the same fuckhead forgot to realize that it leaves us guys with less money for drinks.

Maybe they should have dynamic pricing like Uber and if it is super busy charge more for drinks. Also what the ladies charge is totally negotiable and if parties don’t come to agreement walk away. When I first went like a decade ago, I used to tell all the ladies $60 and when they didn’t bite, I sat down and watched the performers. Eventually a lady walked toward me and I said $60 and she said sure and we went arriba. I’m sure they all talk and know which marks are willing to pay for services. They all have bills at the end of the day.

They already lost my money on bar girls. When it was 60 it was doable. For the 80 to 100 it is now I'd rather keep my money.

Definitely! The key is paying with pesos, I pay for everything in pesos, but I live here so its as easy as withdrawing money from the ATM. I guess the only downside of using pesos is that it feels like play money and its easy to lose track of how much you can actually spend. It's not a huge difference, but it does add up over time, especially if you hit the bars often (I go once or twice a week).

Before CoVid there was always a steady stream of HK girls going to the hotel's front and back doors. In the last 3 months I noticed a serious decline of girls taken to the hotel. A few of the hottest ones like Frieda, Lydia, Sasha, Suki ect start work earlier and stay longer, but are still not doing much business. CPB standard procedure is to run them through secondary if they use a expired passport. I had a passport card that lost & I found later. I applied for a new passport, but did not know if had been cancelled. The CBP did not hassle me. They just checked my info. If is your first time they will simply let you go. But you can be fairly certain that it was recorded. So chances are they will hassle you if you try again Your best option is to go to a passport center. UCSD has ones and apply for passport is quite easy their. Just take your receipt of application and they will accept it with a drivers license.

No, you'd never get fined for trying to cross with an expired passport LOL. They'd just put you though additional procedures to prove you're a citizen. I've never been through it myself but have heard it can take anywhere from a few minutes to perhaps a couple of hours or more.

Yeah, my passport expired just last spring (2020) during the height of COVID which was a real pain. But I applied for renewal late last year when processing times got back closer to normal and had the renewed passport back in time for my next trip. So maybe if you don't plan on going back for a long time, try to re-apply right after you come back from this trip. Worst case, if you really want to go to Tijuana during the processing time, take your driver's license, explain that your passport is in the process of being renewed (which is actually the truth), and just pay the bribe. They'll still let you in from what I've heard.
