    FMMs

    PlayPlay.

The 7-day FMM is free; 6-month FMM costs about $30.

By laws visitors don't need FMM within 100 Km of the border, but must have FMM when travel 100 Km past the border. Before CoVid I drove all over Baja CA and nobody ever checked. Dickus Maximus reported last week that soldiers checked his FMM when he drove past Ensenada, which is 114 Km from the Hong Kong Gentlemen's Club.

If you fly out of Tijuana, it's easier to buy the FMM on line than dicking around Tijuana airport to buy one.

I park in the Ticuan hotel parking structure. 100 pesos overnight. Easy walk to La Zona or cheap Uber. They have guards patrolling the structure and I've never had a problem with my vehicle.

I can confirm it lasts until the date stamped. They made me pay for one back in the Summer 2020. I do not remember exactly how long the stamp lasted but it was months.

Good thing about it was I came down about a month later and they told me there is no waiting with the visa. Told me to go through same path that Mexicans were going. Had to wait for my wingman. He did not have to buy a visa.

In fact I have crossed 7 times June 2020 thru March 2021 and only once was I or anyone I was with told the visa is mandatory.

There is a stamp on the visa on the day until the visa is valid, e. G. Today is April 1, then the stamp shows October 1. This means that the visa is not valid after October 1. With this visa you go to the crossing for Mexicans (not for foreigners) and just show this visa to the Mexican border guards. Meanwhile, the 7-day visa is free, but one entry only and you can get it in the foreigners' window. This is how it is in San Ysidro, the 'Pedeast' border crossing.

    Parking in La Zona

    MichaelRN.

Libra Parking is on Consitucion, directly East of the alley. From here you can see street girls lining up in the alley.

It's owned by HK, guarded 24/7, nice, clean, 3 concrete stories, cost averages 90 pesos for 6 hours. There are lots of room here. I never got a ding on my car.

You can also buy HK's $60 3-month VIP card and have free valet parking, but valets takes more time to retrieve your car, you would still have to tip them, and Pepe parking is so tight they put a couple dings on my doors and fenders. Damn.

My understanding (and I could be wrong) is that by law it is only valid for one single entry (FMM documents are supposed to be turned into customs officials upon leaving the country) but in practice they've always let folks get away with using the FMM until it expires, whether that be 7 or 180 days. I've used the same 7-day FMM for multiple entries into Mexico numerous times with no issue. They just waive me through.

I bought liability insurance from GNP via AAA website, allegedly one of the largest insurance companies in Mexico, only $125 a year.

The policy lists a 800 tel number, but when called it has been disconnected. Don't know who to contact if I have to file a claim. Mexico's insurance must be a joke. If anything happens and GNP fails to cover the claims, I suppose I can always sue AAA for breach of contract.

One was on purpose, for purposefully extended period.

The other was on demand surge problems, neither by design or structure.

Context is important, even more so when you use ignorance as a platform.

It's called El Chapparal, it's there.

This shows a $99 fee, but gets you a FMM for 2 years (or duration of passport, whichever comes first). They guarantee the FMM or your money back.

Yes. They were date stamped with the date paid.

Actually the last one (in Otay) was was cash. I was kind of pissed the credit card machine wasn't working, but hey, you learn to live with that in Mexico.
