If I recall correctly, Rio Verde is more on the edge of the zona, close to the tourist area with the restaurants and small stands selling soivenirs. If so, I have been there once or twice, but never sessioned with a chica.

Then write some. You said you've been in Rio Verde once or twice, then write about your experience. You've written many posts but I'd like to see you evolve into writing some with original information, not stuff that's simply recycled from reading the threads.

If you're going to get news from websites like "zero hedge" or extreme left / right sources like Epoch times, you absolutely cannot just read their heavily editorialized headline. From the article itself, it's not a "zero interest home loan", it's a secondary loan for the down payment on a regular (high right now) interest loan, and you then pay 15-20% of the appreciation of the home when selling. In California you nearly always have significant appreciation on real estate, which is why they found (again, from the article) the program had a neutral or even positive effect on the budget. So it is not taking away tax dollars from citizens. For obvious reasons, California is trying to get as many people into homes and off the street as possible.

I wasn't the one who put the link up and I never even clicked on it when I made my post. Now if you want to discuss details of the bill that's fine. Yes it's an interest free loan for the down payment of a home that will be paid back when refinanced or sold. Only if that home appreciates in value and many in the real estate community think that homes are over valued now and expect a bust so then what? They could sell the home for less or just walk away like many did with the last housing bust. Even if this goes as planned the people could live in that house for 20 plus years and then sell it and the value of that original loan will be worth far less due to inflation.

I understand what they are trying to accomplish with the bill but IMO this just keeps housing prices high which doesn't help the overall issue that they need to build more homes to keep up with the demand. Unfortunately CA is controlled by the environmentalists so they make it difficult and expensive to build anything.

It is taking away tax dollars from citizens because they have to set the money aside for this program because if it didn't use tax money why wouldn't they just make it available to everyone? The state can't print money like the Feds so they have to rely on tax money.

Well I think most of us understand why immigrants come here and most likely we would do the same so it's nothing to get angry with them about it's the government and many corporations that is using them. We could also have a discussion about who's land this really is.

In the case of this bill you could have two brothers that have come to this country, one the legal way taking many years and lots of money. Something I'm very familiar with. After getting here that person takes the time and effort to become a citizen. Now to complete the last part of his dream he would like to own a home but has trouble with the down payment. This bill gives him the opportunity to make his dream come true but only so many people can be helped.

Now you have his brother who decided to just come to the country by crossing illegally, also something I'm very familiar with, he's gotten a fake SS number and is working and he would like to buy a home as well. So the new version of this bill gives him the opportunity also so you essentially now have two brothers but only one house.

Which brother has more rights to that house?

That was a different time back then. It was survival of the fittest. I'm not saying the slaughter of native Americans was good but the world was a pretty violent place back then. Genghis Kahn murdered half the world in his day. Mao from China killed over 40 million. Idi Amin killed half a million. This concept that only European were mass killers is laughable. The difference is when we take over a country and slaughter everyone in the area, we develop the place and make it better, USA for example. Japan would be another. Germany would be another.
