I am wondering if thr customs US vustoms officials are actually preventing people from. Leavimg the US. Why aren't the customs officials using infared thermometers if they want reduce Covid spread.

If anyone has any more info please post.

I drove into Mexico on Friday, 9 pm, without being questioned as usual. Infared thermometers are not effective in detecting covid cases in their early stages, which is when a person is most contagious. As a side note, the first time I went to Rizo a couple months ago, when the guy scanned me, the temperature gun screen showed red. He then scanned me again. It scanned red again. He just shrugged his shoulders and told me "pasale."

When you come down, do you plan on renting a room and staying overnight? Depending on whether you patronize SG's or BG's, you should be good with $150-$300 per day, most likely less. Come on down, if you are already in the area, you'll regret it and wonder about it for a long time if you don't. Just be aware that the underground bars are a covid haven.

Thanks for the advice Clam. I did make a very short trip Saturday afternoon. Visited HK and tried to a oriented with the surrounding area. I wasn't too brave and it was also a bit on the warm side so I didn't go too far from HK. I did see a multitude of SW standing in front of a variety of locations up and down the road that HK is on and around. The furthest I ventured was to intersection of Coahuila and Av Revolucion. I was not sure if it was smart or even necessary to venture out any further. As I mentioned in my initial post I wouldn't mind linking up with a more seasoned bro to get a really good guided tour of the do's and don't's and good and bad locations of the enitre Zona. Hopefully I can make another trip before I leave the area.

I crossed Friday for a quick non-mongering visit. The Pedestrian line back was the longest I've ever seen. The Auto SENTRI lane seemed very long also. I crossed on foot with SENTRI and it was very fast only 5 people in line.

I am looking for a bro who might be interested in showing a relative noob around the areas of interest and I am also looking for a bit of advice on how much funds I should either have on hand or available at my disposal if I am able to make the trip. Any advice or assistance any of the bros on the forum can provide would be appreciated.

Zona norte is easy to navigate.

Take a medium range hotel on revolucion like hotel espana if you don't like roaches and noise.

Now lets see what the CBP comes up with to make the transit worse.

It was staffed with six CBP on this occasion. This pre-Mexico by CBP staff. I kept walking. No surprise.

I get asked question by CBP on return. Standard questions. Last time told not to visit under current health orders.

That is the pop up room which folds back into the wall. It isn't open all the time. They open it unexpectedly. Maybe they are using it more during Covid?

They WILL search you and have you put your hands against the wall for a Zona Norte style police search if they feel the need to. It has happened to me twice. This LEAVING the USA going INTO Mexico. They kept asking me what nationality I am and asking me if I had family in Mexico. I am not Mexican nor do I have family in Mexico. My crime was not looking white enough for them.

I would be happy to show you the bars and street scenes in Tijuana, potentially pick up any intels you have about Korea and Japan for post-CoVid travel. But also Tijuana's La Zona Norte is small and very visitors friendly with mostly self-service offers. You can easily do it yourself and have a safe, good time any day of the week.

Read the forum to get familiar with the rules and geography. Stay around the bar block for girls, bars, food and safety, may be a short walk to the trinket alley next to hotel nelson and tourist traps on Ave Revolucion. For noobs, other places should be accessed by UBER. Don't walk around by yourself at night or you may risk being robbed.

From San Diego Just take the Green Line trolley South to the end of San Ysidro Blvd and follow the crowd walking South to enter Mexico via PedEast. You don't have to pay for a visa to Mexico. Insist on a free temporary permit.

Follow the crowd South to the taxi stand, tell them Hong Kong club and pay $5 max, or call UBER.

After getting dropped off in front of HK / Cascada hotel, walk in Cascada door and climb up to reception on second floor. There is an elevator that takes you to 7th floor where you can party with HK girls and take them to the room. Security guys will direct you..

That us border patrol desk wasn't there today, Friday. No questions asked on way in. Revolucion is making progress on reopening. Some bars are even open but not the bars we go to. But some defiantly open. I think coronavirus is on the decrease and progress is being made. Many many street girls. Like a 150 easily. Yeah 80% are overweight but they could be good in the room and there's a lot cute girls and almost no gringos. Come support them before they leave.

Thanks for all the intel Solo. I would very much appreciate a tour of the areas of interest if you are up for it, might even make it worth you while with some street tacos and a few beers if you feel so inclined. Although I have been out and about in the areas such as Japan and Korea I also have some great intel on Europe that has yet to hit this forum and again would share with anyone who might be interested. I will say the following, in those other areas I was in them for a longer period of time and got really familiar before I ventured out and about so that is why I would prefer at least a guide the 1st time out and about in Tijuana. Don't hesitate to reach out I'm not in the area for long and wouldn't mind getting my feet or something else wet. LOL.

Damn, I already got my $30 Visa, I was thinking next time I go I can just walk in the Mexicans line, I don't want another stamp in my passport.

Do you think I could get in trouble for just trying to walk in like that? I would have my visa and passport if questioned.

If you have the 180 Day FMM (aka $30 Visa), you can use the Mexican line but be prepared to flash your passport / passport card.
