Thanks, I spent some time researching and ended up applying for the GE. I was discouraged by my research of the costs of parking at the border. Online it says 24 hours are now $50 to 80 at the close San Isidro lots? With a 2 hour rate of like $20-25, crazy if that is true (that's almost a hotel fare for your ride). Now, add on $75-90 for a spot to rest your head (Honk Kong or hotel on Revo. Tucan / Cesare type. Even some of the other budget offers are in the 50-70 range. For parking and a crash pad. That's close to $200 for basically no action. WTF has happened to this place? LOL.

Perhaps a drive across that 90 freeway to Otay Crossing is the way to go to skip crazy line back ups, and maybe the parking is not crazy $$ as well. I'm just trying to get in and out like I used to and not spend hours in a line and not waste money on short stay parking and hotel. I did register my car on the GE application but still a bit paranoid to roll in as I usually would be solo. Since I hate lines I'm going to hold off this weekend and give it a shot next weekend.

Tijuana is becoming like LA now. I remember when parking was 7. 00. Soon the girls in hk will be asking 150 for 30 minutes.

If it's 150 pesos from otay what are the taxis charging from the San ysidro side to revolution nowadays. When you cross to Mexico from the otay side, is there a place to buy a SIM card so I can Uber to revolution. An oxxo maybe.

I'm thinking the only way to avoid the crazy lines is arriving early in the morning. Perhaps before 12 pm latest to cross and leaving very late as Hargow stated, past 11 pm. That's a long day, too long for me. Which means a hotel. Which are also getting more expensive and harder to find. HK has stopped the 1 night stop in guy like myself. I reserved a 1 night room there in advance think I saved $10 on the reservation. So it was $70 for a cat nap or kill time spot. But wasn't fun because they put me next to all the short time rooms. So not only was I inside club HK when I was trying to doze off for a few hours. I didn't even get to benefit from my personal extra time room as when I took the HK chica back she looked at it like a short time room as we walked 3 yards down from the door knock guys. I think even a dude asked her if he wanted a knock and she said no, she had the clock in her head it wasn't needed. Was not happy. LOL.

If you have a child in Mexico as a foreigner, it is important that you know about the child support laws and the newest amendment that came into effect as of April 16,2016. Going forward, anyone who is overdue on their child support payments will be stopped by immigration when they attempt to leave Mexico.

With the increasing support of technology and better tracking of debt owed to custodial parents, it will continue to become more difficult for parents that do not make their child support payments to avoid them. More and more children are born into dual nationality families, and the enforcement is increasing to include both countries to ensure children are financially supported.

Regardless which country you live in or where your child lives, you are obligated to pay child support. Ignoring your obligations will lead to legal problems and travel interruptions. Whether child support payments are late due to lack of communication, job changes or health issues you will need to rectify the problem. If you are unable to keep up your obligations to your child, you may seek legal counsel and request different arrangements for support.

Mexico's new amendment to article 48 of the Federal Immigration Law was created to help enforce the collection of overdue child support. If you are a foreigner or a Mexican National who is two months overdue on your child support payments and there is a court order regarding the child support filed, this new law will affect you.

Mexican lawmakers are following the trend of the United States, which does not allow citizens who are in arrears of child support to renew their passport and have even confiscated passports, prohibiting them to leave the country until their debt is paid. Canada has a similar penalty, your passport will be suspended and possibly cancelled along with certain federal marine and aviation licences if you are in arrears of child support payments.

The Mexican government has had some issues with the new law, although they say it is not a detention, you will need to pay your overdue amount before you may leave the country.

My guess it is probably best to cross no earlier than 10 pm if you want to avoid the long lines. I used to walk back late at night. But these days it is I believe t believe it is best to err on side of caution & take the a cab, Uber or the Taxi vans. I you do choose to walk back at it is a good idea to try & walk near other people. My only regret about Tijuana is that there quality and variety of good looking SG's & SW's has really dropped off. There is some good looking girls in HK. But it is ridiculous that they are charging $100 min for anything.

I'm 90% certain on a weekend TJ taco trip, ie celebrate Murica en Mexico . Idea is to head over Sat / Sun. Afternoon (flexible) perhaps both afternoons. If anyone I have chatted with in the past decade will be around I'd be glad to grab a taco with ya.

Question? On past visits I was usually very safe hitting the walk back border crossing from 11pm - 1 am but would like to head back earlier.

If I was trying to leave TJ between 7 -9 pm? Would I be setting myself up for a hellish possible 1-2 hour wait in line?
If so, I would much rather find a chill bar to post up at for a few hours and leave at 11pm...too bad AB is closed, that was my only idea for killing a few hours in peace and happiness.

And just had to add my .02 with Dodger Downer just joking I'm usually that guy. I have been going to Tijuana since I was in college at age 18. At that age I had access to many local SD college girls as did along my friends. We still enjoyed Tijuana and the dancers of AB or even more awful strip clubs like "Peanuts" Going in little closets and banging out hot strippers for $50.
As I get older, TJ and all other P$P looses some shine. The novelty factor wears off and the hurdles are more taxing. Yeah, I'm defiantly not saying good looking fit guys aren't in Hong Kong. Whatvim saying is, I personally, would much rather bang single moms, eperated moms off tinder. Take the Saturday night 10 pm crowd at hk. It's full of the LOS Angeles guys. They are well dressed in shape 25 to 35 year olds. I've seen 22 yo looking guys with their dad's LOL. I am not a local but go to Tijuana when I can. The last several times I was there the walking line was clear back to the taxis or further. I have Global Entry so walk right past everyone else but if you don't have it it could be a couple hour wait.

My current plan is to arrive Sunday afternoon. July 2 and leave Wednesday.
