    Updated once an hour? BWT

CBP raw BWT updates once an hour at best. Others project Prediction of BWT on various web sites.

I use the Bordify app and the GaritaCentral website to tell me lies about the wait times for each lane. They usually have the exact same numbers, but if they don't, Bordify tends to be closer to the actual time.

They almost always understate the wait times, but they understate San Ysidro a lot more than Otay. If they say Otay and San Ysidro are the same, Otay is really shorter.

The bigger the numbers, the less accurate they are. If they say 15 minutes, it's likely to be 18. But if they say 70 minutes, it's likely to be 105.

But if my apps say that the Otay Ready Lane is the shortest, I believe them. And that's usually what they say.

Lifestraws do not filter industrial contaminants

The reason I purchased the Epic water bottle is because it is one of the few that advertises it filters industrial contaminants like asbestos, lead, fluoride, Chromium 6, PFOA and other bad stuff. My understanding is that the lifestraw is for hiking in rural areas and preventing infection with guardia from mountain streams and springs. My guess is that Tijuana tap water is far worse than guardia infected mountain streams. Research the portable filters yourself, but I haven't gotten Montezuma's Revenge from drinking Tijuana tap water from my Epic water bottle. . .

Though in all seriousness thanks for the filter recommendation. I've been looking at lifestraws and the such recently.

CBP. Border Wait Time. BWT app free.

    Does it predict correctly? No.

I thing it under predicts waiting period line by factor of 3 or more for wait period of 20 minutes or greater.

CBP 20 min wait period is 60 plus.

    30 min reported. 90 plus.

    1 HR reported. 3 HR??

Not accurate. No Line at 15 min or less prediction?

    For less than 15 minutes.

It is a constant moving with short wait for CBP agent initial declaration request and document review..
I find the app or website unreliable also. I've gone at 630 am weekdays stuck 45 minutes in line. 10 am hour and half. The other fifteen times in July August two to 22 minutes. I generally go back in the morning. Border patrol told me at night I wouldn't have a wait. I try ask border patrol questions so they hear my voice. It cuts down tremendously on the questions they ask of what I do, why I'm in Mexico, where I live.

    Leather car seat repairs

The car was parked outside last summer. 4 leather patches on front seats were broiled with residual body grease in a couple days of the high heat. The leather blistered, cracked, exposing rubber filler, looking ugly. Could not drive any dates in that car as they would probably laugh at the blistered leather hehe. Glued on leather patches would just peel off. The 2 seats have integral side airbags; used seats with additional side airbags would cost $1600 installed. I was looking at a very high repair bill. Damn.

Brought the car to an upholstery shop on Calle 4 corner O'Campo. The owner Jose said he could take the leather cover off and sew new leather patches on with his machine. I was incredulous how he could peel the tight leather off the seats with all sorts of sensor wires embedded, guessing he was going to have to hand sew patches over the old ones. He was smiling, saying it was his job, and he knew how to do it. He wanted $50 for 4 patches on both seats, but agreed on 500 pesos or about $28.

He carefully unzipped the leather back, disconnect a few connectors and peel the leather covers off the frame, took the torn patches off, cut a few leather patches to size and machine sew them in place. Took him about 1 hour for both seats. The flat patches fit well, looked flat and good. The curved bolster looked a little rumpled, but was good enough, far better than torn leather and messy rubber filling underneath.

You can prevent lots of damages to paint and interior parking cars indoors. If not try to cover and ventilate the car on hot summer sun or residual grease on leather will get super heated, crack and break the leather. Or you can pay the leather shop in Tijuana to repair, while you spend time with chicas in La Zona bars hehe.

Just 2 nights ago, I was getting water from a hotel near HK that will go unnamed, and I noticed a light brownish yellow color as it poured from the faucet (Toilet to tap? Well I was wondering in the case of going out to eat and if asking for water is a bad move. I was thinking of just buying bottles and filling up my insulated bottle with it.

I have been visiting Tijuana for about 15 years. In Tijuana hotels I use the tap water when brushing my teeth and washing. But I don't use it for drinking water. So far I've had no problems.

Many locations in Tijuana to buy bottled drinking water from. And when in Tijuana I buy purified water and HP (Oxygena I think it's called) at the grocery stores to mix 50% diluted Hydrogen Peroxide solution for clean-up after raw dogging chicas.

These are also my general practices while living in the United States, but in the US I've drunk tap water without worry or regret occasionally.
