Pesos are not required in the Zona and unless you are really good with math and pay attention to conversion rates you won't save yourself much for the hassle. The bars peg their prices to the dollar and change their pesos with fluctuation, so it is rare to be able to screw them over. Right now you can exchange 18.5:1 or so, and the bars set it at 18:1, so by using pesos to buy a $5 drink will save you about 10 cents paying in pesos. If you are a good negitiator you can offer pesos to girls and they may take less, but they may want more. It's easy right now to do a 20:1 conversion in your head, so a girl who wants $80 may ask 1600 pesos (bad for you), and may take 1400 (bad for her). But she's just as likely to haggle in dollars. To me it's not worth the hassle in the Zona (outside the Zona is another story). But for you it may be worthwhile -- or even a game if math is your thing.

Ubers are cheaper but you would have to have internet access, which may not work when you enter Mexico, depending on your carrier and plan -- it may take some time to reset. Taxis are plentiful and safe and if you just tell the guy Hong Kong and hand him $5 at the end of the ride you'll be fine. Yes the experts will tell you to pay with pesos save $3 or that you should haggle with the guy, but it's only $5. Just pay and be done.

Master suite is great on a Monday or Tuesday with VIP. Other days I don't think it is worth it. The girls won't care about the Jacuzzi tub, and I've never been in a Master with the stripper pole or sex swing and don't miss it. Yes, there is a bit extra room, but it's a lot more expensive. The good thing is that they don't have a problem with you moving rooms. So take a regular room and if it's not good enough, upgrade the next night! If you are a light sleeper, be sure to bring earplugs. Some rooms can be very noisy from the club, or from other guests.

Is the quality of girls that much worse during Monday / Tuesday? And if I go that route, would I be able to get a VIP card upon arrival, then use it on the room I've already booked? Or is it a I can only use it on my next visit type of deal?
Saturday is VERY busy and you can easily be overwhelmed. If you are in the zona on those days, you might want to check out Chicago Club or Bar Tropical. Hong Kong and Adelitas will be very busy and very crowded. Girls are less likely to spend time with you and more looking for trips upstairs. I avoid the Zona on Friday and Saturday nights if I can. Days are OK though. The absolute hottest girls are less likely to be working on a Monday / Tuesday, but you won't have a problem with who is working. Even the see-shift girls are great (and usually cheaper).

Hong Kong VIP is worth it if you are staying there, especially on a Monday or Tuesday. Paying $11 for an all night room that you would normally pay $55 for is great, especially when you take a girl up and don't have to pay the $19 room charge (yes, a 30 minute room is almost double your whole night. And a Master Suite for $22 (versus $110) is great! Also, one free drink a day is good. I never bother with the other stuff -- one half-price lap dance isn't a big deal, the "private waiter" is nothing. No cover is good on Fridays and Saturdays, but as I said I avoid HK on those days anyway. Yes, you can book the room online without VIP, then buy the VIP card at HK when you arrive and get the discounted rate.

As far as getting girls while in HK, seems the general idea is to buy them a drink (what is the avg price?) get a feel for them figuratively and literally, then if I like her take her up to the room. If I pay in Pesos it's anywhere from 1200-1500, so roughly $60-80. And if I pay in dollars it's around $80-100. Street girls are $25-35, or 300-400 pesos. That all sound right? Anyone ever pay for an overnight with a girl they really liked? How much would an HK girl charge versus a street girl?
You invite them to sit down and buy them a drink -- $9 is most common, but some girls may take advantage and ask for more expensive drinks. Feel free to say no, or send her away. Buying her the drink means she will sit with you until she has finished it, and how long that takes is another indicator of if you want to be with her. If she chugs it in 5 minutes and asks for another, she's not likely to give you great service in the room. You may still want to fuck her, but don't keep buying her drinks On the other hand, a great girl will sip the drink for 20 minutes, during which time you can chat (translator apps help if you don't share a language), and she will try to encourage you to go upstairs, by rubbing on you, dancing for you, smiling and laughing and flirting. It can be the best $9 you ever spent. How much she wants to go upstairs will vary but $80 is the most common ask right now. Hotter girls are asking $100 (or even $120 now), and some girls ask $70. You can bargain a bit, especially during the day or on a slow night. Paying in pesos is unlikely to save you much (see my first response). If you go up to your room she will stop at the desk to give her name, and you will be asked if you want to buy condoms and lube -- you should bring your own, of course.

Street girls will quote you $20 for 20 minutes, plus $5-6 for the room. Some of them will go to your room in Cascadas, but most won't. They are affiliated with the hotel they stand in front of and many will not go anywhere else. Some of them are as pretty as any girl in a club, and can be very sweet. But that $20 rate will likely be for them to pull down their pants and for you to stick it in them (covered, of course) in one position. If you want them to get nude, suck you (covered), and switch positions, they will add on enough that the total will come close to a bar girl's rate. But it can still be fun to walk the alley and look at who is available. If you speak some Spanish it will help a lot, and these girls will actually give you better rates in pesos generally. Often you can get 200 pesos ($12) for basic service or 400-600 for a session with the extras, so you can save some money if you are good with the negotiating.

An overnight (in TJ we say TLN, toda la noche) will really depend on you and the girl and how you click. If you ask a HK girl to stay all night she will quote you a high rate, to cover her expected wages for the night -- probably $300+. But that can totally change if you click with a girl. It's not enough of a regular thing that there is any rule of thumb, and if you don't speak Spanish you probably won't be able to pull off anything but paying for her time.

You'll do fine at Azul and the various taco trucks. Tijuana has some AMAZING food and if you are there for a few days you may venture away from the Zona for a few hours. Revolucion Ave (the big tourist strip) is not far and an easy walk during the day. Or a $5 cab or a $2 Uber to a number of great restaurants on Revo or elsewhere in town.

Checkout time is 1 pm. Late checkout would require another night as far as I know, although a tip to the desk clerk may change that.

PM me if you have other questions.

Been lurking on the board for awhile and I'm now finally getting the chance to head on down to Tijuana. Been reading through quite a few pages here and I just had a few questions I was hoping someone could help clear up. I'll also lay out my plan as well, so if anyone has some improvements to suggest you are more then welcome too. Hopefully this plan will be useful to anyone else considering making the trip.

To preface this, I'll be making this trip solo and am looking to minimize as much risk to myself as possible. Never been to Mexico in my life, so I'll pretty much only venture around in the immediate area around Hong Kong. From reading here its seems if I don't venture too far out, wear nothing flashy and keep my mouth shut I'll be fairly safe. Also don't plan on drinking much, if at all. Should also mention I'm not the biggest guy, so like I said safety is a high priority for me.

    1. Seems the best way to get your bang for your buck is to use Pesos down in Tijuana. Is the best course of action to exchange dollars near the border, or should I look around OC for an exchange place? Also, do you guys bring your credit cards with you to Tijuana? I'm assuming everything can be paid for in cash there, including the hotel (staying at Cascadas). If you guys say it's safe I may bring 1 card with me, but as of now I'm unsure.

    2. Is border security pretty tight? I'm just planning on bringing an overnight backpack with toiletries, change of clothes and other essentials (condoms, lube, tadalafil) down with me. Thing is I'm also considering whether its worth the risk to bring down a weed oil vape pen with me. It's small as hell, and I've brought it through airport security, but I don't want to cause trouble for myself if it will be an issue. I know cops in Mexico will try to fuck me over if I get caught with it, so I was strictly planning on using it in my room at Cascadas. If you guys think it will be an issue I'll drop it entirely though.

    3. So I'll be making the drive down from OC in the early afternoon of Saturday. My plan as of now is to park my car at one of the San Diego Trolley stations overnight and take the Trolley down to the border. From what I can gather, 24 hour parking is OK at Trolley parking lots correct? It seems to the be the better option versus parking at a paid lot near the border, but if I am wrong or you have another suggestion please let me know. Also if there is a trolley station you recommend that is less busy and / or safer I would love to know.

    4. Is there a specific border stations that's better than the other? I think I read something about Pedwest (idk if that's the right name) being better, but I can't be sure rn. I'll reread through the threads later as well.

    5. After getting through the border I'll be immediately taking a taxi or uber straight to Hong Kong so I can check into my room. Do you guys have a preference between taxi's or ubers or does it pretty much not matter?

That's it from me for now. If you guys have anything to add, suggest, or remind me of something I missed / forgot to consider please let me know! I'll be sure to post about exploits once I am back.
    1. Exchange at the money changers near the border. They have decent rates. Or, for even better rates, use a debit card that reimburses fees (Schwab, Fidelity), in the Mexican ATMs. But keep one eye looking over your left shoulder, and the other looking over your right shoulder, because ATMs attract rateros.

    2. Leave your drugs at home. (or at my place).

    3. Trolley lots have a 24-hour limit. I have no idea if they enforce it. Palomar and Palm are both reasonably close to the border, and reasonably safe.

    4. The trolley takes you to ped east. Arrange it so you're crossing northbound really late at night, and the line will be short. Use Bordify on your cell phone to get misinformation about how long you'll have to wait in line. If Bordify says pedWest is much quicker, go for it. The walk from PedWest back to the trolley is about half a mile.

    5. I drive my own car, so I rarely use taxis, and I don't even have Uber. But people I respect say Uber is cheaper, and much less likely to rip you off.

    8. Your info sounds about right. Be sure to negotiate all the details before you agree to the deal, or you'll find that everything is an "extra" and you have to pay "extra". And I would be "extra" careful about defining "overnight".

Really, what's that got to do with it? It is a classic place, and I've gone there off and on since the late 60's (with others). It was a destination. Point 1) the food world has moved on. Caesar's hasn't. Point b) it's kind of boring and dark (inside). Okay if you're talking with someone, but kind of boring and alienating to me to sit there by myself and watch some idiot make a big deal out of the salad. Maybe if I drank more I would feel differently.

I felt obligated to go to Cesar's just for the famous salad. It was good, but not better than I make for myself at home. Dark, old fashioned dining area. Excellent lemonade.

I can't guarantee anything, but regarding safety walking around town, I can report that I spent two days exploring on foot during the late morning and early afternoons and had no trouble. I'm not physically intimidating, and getting a bit old, too. Just minded my own business and walked like I Knew where I was going. Not a whole lot to see, really. Sure looks like the tacky souvenir shops are hurting from the lack of American tourists.

I did enjoy taking uber to the Tijuana beach and walking up and down the boardwalk. Some pretty girls, for certain, but they seemed to favor their street clothes on the beach rather than bikinis.

At night I kept walking to a minimum, though. Just went around the main bar district. Nobody approached me, but I recommend not engaging with any guys trying to sell you anything. The policia are watching.

    Caesars

Wait a minute, I hit up Caesars every time for a late afternoon meal, and I travel alone. I get the Caesar salad and French onion soup, and a beer. I find the food great and nothing has kicked back on me so far. If you sit outside it is fun to people watch. If you are alone it is important to walk and move with confidence. Enter every bar and restaurant like its an old friend.

Yea, that sounds depressing haha. My buddys coming down with me this time, so that's why I'm hoping to try it this time.

Got to try that place once at least tho. Telefonica gastro park is also on my bucket list in the future.

    1. Exchange at places around the border, I always bring 1 card for emergencies.

    2. Wear boxer briefs and leave oil pen in balls pocket when traveling around, I got caught with one once an had to pay 40 $ bribe.

    3. Yes, 24 HR parking. I like the station off beyer blvd, close to the border and seems safe.

    5. I've always used Uber, cheaper and no BS taxi problems.

    6. I'd say anything above the double deluxe is only worth it on Mon. / Tues. Unless you have money burning a hole in your pocket.

    7. Yes, VIP card is worth it if you can use it at lease once on a Mon. / Tues. You can also pick up the VIP card at CS desk in HK and go straight to Cascadas to use your discount. (Pick up the VIP card before going to check in).

    8. Expect to pay the same in pesos or USD with bar girls, but yeah 60-100 usd is the rate.

    9. I save my money for las chicas. Jk haha, azul and hk taco spot. Going to try Caesars restaurant next Monday / Tuesday when I'm out there.

    10. Checkout is 1 pm. Not sure if they allow late checkout, doubt it.

    Have fun!

I brought my pen this time no problem, Cascadas check out time is 1 I believe and I don't think they allow late check outs and they accept credit cards now. You have a lot of questions can't answer them all LOL. It's safe to walk around in the day there is one of the best taco stands I have eaten at on the corner. The vip card is worth it even if you use it on a Saturday it's good to save some money even though not as much as Monday and Tuesday. And to me it's not the quality goes down it's just the amount of options. Saturday's is hella girls in HK and hella SGs. Some SGs can go to HK but most are attached to a motel that they go to. Most agencies will not send a girl to the zona but never hurts to contact the agency and ask.

Lurker making the trip to Tijuana

    Hi guys,

    6. I'll be booking my room in Cascadas tonight or tomorrow, do you guys have a room recommendation. Debating between the regular single room or treating myself to the master suite. All the extra amenities of the master suite sound nice, and I like that I'd have a safe to store extra cash, my passport etc. Probably leaning towards the master but if it's not worth it let me know. Also, from what I've read I can bring HK girls and some street girls up to my room, but not escorts. Just want to make sure my info is correct. Also, can I pay in cash for it?

    7. Is the VIP worth it? My plan is go Saturday since people say that's when the most / hottest girls are there, but the idea of getting the VIP and going Monday / Tuesday at 80% off for the room is very tempting. Is the quality of girls that much worse during Monday / Tuesday? And if I go that route, would I be able to get a VIP card upon arrival, then use it on the room I've already booked? Or is it a I can only use it on my next visit type of deal?

    8. Just want to make sure my info is right here.

    9. What do you guys do for food? I'll probably limit myself to Azul and anything else in the immediate area, again not trying to venture too far.

    10. What's the checkout time for Cascadas, the one source I found said 1 pm. Do they allow late check out? Was planning on trying to get 1 or 2 more rounds in the morning before I leave.

That's it from me for now. If you guys have anything to add, suggest, or remind me of something I missed / forgot to consider please let me know! I'll be sure to post about exploits once I am back.

Missed the point, again, sir. The original post was about keeping evidence out of one's passport.

    Seriously, dude. Get a life!

Just checked my passport it's entering Mexico that you will be stamped, USA you will not my bad. Nonetheless it's not so much misinformation since you will most likely get stamped with a booklet which was my point.

Most of the hotter SG'S & SW's work in the at night & evenings these days. Things have gotten safer in the Zona within the past year or so. There is lot more police, military and private security guards in the Zona. It is still a good idea to always keep your guard up in the Zona. Always look to see who is behind you in the Zona.
