Not True. I've been asked. And if you get in an accident, and you don't have insurance, you can have big problems.

I'm headed back down to Tijuana on Sept 14-17 if anyone is interested in meeting up. Flights right now are crazy cheap. Nonstop round trip from Kansas City for under $200.

Are there any suggested hotels near casino which are clean and have decent internet. I feel more safer walking in this area. I know I can take taxi, but prefer to walk if there are any alternative.
Near casino? Which casino? Where are you walking? Any hotel closer to the Zona will bea place you don't want to walk. I've never worried about walking around the Ticuan. It's the other hotels closer to the Zona that are scarier to walk around at night.

Any recommendations on hotels nearest to Zona Norte. Thinking of staying at Hotel Pueblo Amigo, which has a casino and good looking clean rooms, but its a distance from HK and Adelitas.
I like Pueblo Amigo. It's a bit more expensive than some other popular hotels, but it is classy and has a casino. It is farther from the Zona but a cab is about the same as from closer places and a walk during the day isn't bad. I also like that they don't make you check the girls in at the front desk -- because it's a casino they don't know if you are taking the girl to play cards or up to your room. A bit cheaper is Hotel Villa de Zaragoza, which is like an older motel, with rooms that face the outside so girls can come right to your room. Ticuan is also popular. It's a nice hotel in a great location just off Revo close to lots of shops and restaurants, but they do make you check your guests in and they don't like letting you have two guests at a time -- just feels too nosy for me.

Foxy's
It looks like the Foxy's website is down. Does anyone know how to contact the girls from there? I'm looking specifically for Nohemy.

I actually thought about spending a night looking into street parking from E Street on South to Beyer near trolley stops. It would be interesting to see what is available.
How do you judge the parking avilability? Do you ask locals if it ok to park?
You would still have a 3 day limit before you needed to move it right ?
There are a lot of streets in Chula Vista without any restrictions on parking and no street cleaning. But how long can you park without a problem then I do not know maybe 48 or 72 hours max. ?

Whenever I walk in, I leave my car at a trolley station, either Palm or Palomar, and then take the trolley to PedEast. Parking is free, and the trolley costs $2. 50 each way. ($1. 25 for seniors).
But I've only done this for day trips, and the trolley website says there's a 24-hour limit. I have no idea how well they enforce this.
I also park at the trolley parking lot in Chula Vista, mainly from around 7 PM and come back around midnight. The last trolley is 1258 AM and the next after 430 AM. This is a good deal trolley ticket price $ 2. 50 one way (over 60 yo or 62 yo Only $ 1. 25). I guess someone is watching the parking because the cameras are hanged on street lamps. I have never parked more than 24 hours.

Parking in Tijuana
There are plenty of parking lots in the Zona. They are inexpensive, and the attendants make these lots safer than your average San Ysidro un-attended lot.
But it's a bad idea to drive into Mexico without Mexican auto insurance, which can run about $20/ day. Your American policy is not valid in Mexico, and driving without insurance is a criminal matter under Mexican law.

Another cheapcharlie trick is finding a decent neighborhood nearby and Uber to the crossing. I usual look for apartments where there is more traffic or an upscale community. If you have full coverage on your car then it's easier to be dismissive of the dangers. I've parked a car at a trolley station for 2-3 days, came back and everything is all good. Might be different if you have a vehicle that stands out, but then why would be trying to save a few bucks here.

If trying to keep a trip to tijuana secret, then it's best to have a card (sentri card, passport card) that you can use as opposed to a booklet passport since it's going to get stamped when entering the USA.

It doesn't matter what USA State your plates are from. Tijuana parking lots are pretty safe. They're all staffed. Matter of fact, I would feel safer leaving my car in a Tijuana lot than in the huge lot behind Jack in the Box. When you reenter the USA, CBP keeps record of you crossing whether on foot or in a vehicle. There's really no practical way you can keep your visit a total secret.

Otay Mesa Parking
Try otaymesaparking.com, it says it's 10-12 dollars a day, you can reserve a spot and there is a shuttle to the Otay border.
