    Rental car to the border.

    To Jim129.

How much do they charge for drop off fee in San Diego?

This is a damn good idea. Most car rental companies have special weekend deals for like $20 a day, unlimited mileage. The local Enterprise office let me leave my car in their lot while I drive off all weekend. It would be much cheaper to drive a rental car to San Diego for $20 a day on weekend than driving your own cars.

If you rent cars from companies with office and parking lots in San Ysidro, you should be able to leave the car in their parking lot Friday night as it's their property. Sunday night, just pick up the car and drive back to LA and avoid drop off charges.

Would that work, knowing the expensive parking costs in S Y?

Same here and when they ask me if I am bringing anything back I respond that I hope not.

    Semi pro scene?

So what's up with the semi pro scene in Tijuana? Haven't heard much of anything about it on here.

Anyway, coming down from Los Angeles I was struggling to find the cheapest means of arriving in hopes to maximize my budget orientation to chicas. I eventually settled on greyhound bus service where a trip to the border for 17-23 bucks. Worried about how long a trip would take and wanting to be on time for me to get there I scheduled a bus at 8 am. Naturally said bus didn't arrive until 10:30. Not sure if that was a particularly bad incident, but judging by the uncaring callous of the employees I think not. So crammed like sardines into the not as well kept as I hoped bus I went annoyed at my late departure time. This bus service did not directly take me to the border as there is a larger LA station downtown that I was dropped off at to await the second bus that would take me there (not to worry a single ticket vouches for you until your destination). After arriving at the station tired from lack of sleep to get up so early in the first place and with hunger setting in I searched for a meal. To my dismay there was only a convenience store esque venue. Not trusting my written schedule I dared not leave in search of food in fear of missing my bus. Thanks to the great stroke of luck of following directions poorly a bus arrives around 11:20 taking another earlier group to the border. I approached the bus driver checking all the tickets and was informed it was indeed not the bus for my ticket, but the old man takes pity on me and allows me to board regardless (so thank god for that! The rest of my trip was rather uneventful other than seeing the two super carriers docked in San Diego (never been there either until now). Upon arrival I pass an entire street lined with cash exchanges eventually passing a McDonald's and arriving at the entrance to Mexico.

Standing in the non-citizen line for entering Mexico I prepared my passport card and awaited to be processed. They asked why I was going to Mexico to which I answered touring, but was responded by another more aggressive line of questioning to my surprise as they demanded to know what hotel I was planning to stay at. I told them I hadn't determined that yet despite their persistence. I don't much hear complains about this so I have to ask the veterans here is "I am here to bang girls" a viable response to get these monkies off your back?
If you're coming from LA its a lot better if you rent a car and drive to San Diego, when I'm coming from LAX I always pick Alamo because their office in San Diego is right in front of a Trolley station. I return the car, get on the Trolley and I'm at the border in no time at all.

Over the few years I was crossing back into the US and the customs agent asked what I was doing in Mexico. I simply answered tourism. But for some strange reason they did not like the answer. They then said multiple trips to Tijuana is not tourism and let me go.

During the last two times I went, I just tell them I'm visiting the bars and clubs. They let me pass with no other questions asked. They never asked about hotel, but had they asked I would have just said Hotel Cascadas or some other hotel in the Zona Norte. They see it all the time with single or groups of guys crossing the border; they know what our intentions are, so I feel no reason to hide that fact.

First off getting to Tijuana. I took the 992 bus to American plaza (Braodway and Kettner stop) and then the blue trolley to the border.

2.25 for the bus, 2.50 for the train. 10 mins from the plane to the bus stop, 20 mins wait (bus was late), 10 mins to American plaza, few minutes to get the trolley ticket, 45 mins on the trolley.

About 90 mins overall to get to the border.

The actual border is to the left of the train (facing forward), I just followed the crowd.

There is a separate queue for Mexicans, I got in the foreigener queue. The lady on one of the desks let some gringos go without a stamp, they said they would come back later today or early tomorrow (short trip).

The got a burly old man, he did not say anything at all, made me fill a form and stamped my passport. Gave me a form to keep and return on my way back.
Good information about Cascades for the bros. I believe that 100%. On several occasions I have had bartenders, meseros, cashiers, etc conveniently forget to give correct change when paying in pesos and sometimes in dollars but 99% of the time I spend pesos. Not long ago a hotel clerk tried to short change me at Hotel Ibiza. I caught it and called him out. He then gave me the correct change and acted like it wasn't a big deal. Even the chica I took arriba was surprised about his actions. Bros make sure you are not distracted when it's time to receive your change. I count my change as I do anywhere in the States.

$50 USD is not the average market price at HK. I'm sure if you are a repeat customer, big tipper, multiple ficha buyer it will help in negotiations and report but the expectation of getting a $50 chica at HK are slim for most. Not saying that it has never been done before or that it won't again. Get the right chica at the right time can work in your favor.

    Trip report part 0.

Called a uber (thanks to the advise on this forum), waited 5 mins for it. There was police for road crossing, lot of people, I did not feel unsafe at all.

Uber cost 14.75 pesos, dropped me at Hotel Cascadas. I went to the club first, got VIP card and then used that to get room (20% off).

The clerk at the desk duped me out of 200 pesos, I gave him correct amount but he said I gave him 200 short.

He showed me the stack of money again, but I think he dropped a note between the time I gave him the money and he showed it back to me.

He also changed the 30 USD deposit to 500 pesos ducking me 50 pesos, I asked him to write 30 USD on the receipt which he did.

So be careful when checking in hotel cascadas, the clerks are looking to make money.

I need to learn more Spanish! LOL Or maybe I'll read the Art of the Deal. $50 seems low, in my experience. But granted, I did get to $60 once. It was on my last visit. And I truly think it was because I already invested 2 fichas, which helped meet her quota.

$50 sounds like a bargaining chip, but I would not advise someone to expect $50.
