The Zona is relatively safe. But there is still bandito' that prowl the zona looking for people to rob. This is is one reason why it is always a good idea to look and see who is behind you. I only carry the cash I need in Tijuana. But if I am forced to use a ATM I stick with the global banks. HSBC has a ATM by 2nd and Revolucion and it dispenses US dollars as well as Peso's. Their transaction fee is very reasonable. I would avoid any ATM's in the clubs or in the Zona.

Terminal fee. Your banks will then usually charge you whatever extras they want for foreign transactions.

I know I've had this happen with call centers where I dial through a 1800 number to travelopod and can easily tell it's a call center but then they somehow call me back from a California us number and the connection issues and quality concerns disappear.

This trip is actually a few weeks old but figured I should share what I learned and how the trip went with others.

First huge props to everybody on the forum for making all the info so easy to find on how to do a Tijuana trip special thanks to Pdsuave Baxter and Clamslammer for meeting up and showing me around. I'd been hesitant and worried about the risk of Mexico for a while but eventually pulled the trigger and said fuck it when I realized how straightforward it was. Now that I've been I'll definitely plan more trips. Likely will plan a trip in middle of January again for right after a work trip to Vegas.

Logistics wise I spent three days total in Tijuana (Saturday through Monday) and had six sessions (3 first day, 2 second day, 1 the last day as a morning send off).

Definitely learned a lot and got a handle on things. In future trips I'll definitely be haggling more and also likely be more picky with my time. I realized three days was too much, a day and a half or two days max would've been enough.

I flew down from sfo to San Diego (what a cheap flight, maybe 120 $ RT, this plus how cheap Casc can be makes me highly interested in the Monday or Tuesday short one day trip option for future).

Got off the flight and just had a small roller bag for my clothes. No backpack, probably the lightest I've ever traveled. Took an uber ride airport to the border which was about 30 $ and was regaled with a tale by the driver of a regular he had who lived half his week in Tijuana and constantly spent time in casc and HK fucking. I assumed it was someone on these forums or someone local.

Get to the border and am a little freaked out at actually leaving the country and clutch my passport close to me. Get through visa section though the guy doesn't speak a lick of English and I use 4th grade Spanish to make sense of what he's asking.

Pretty surprised by the blatant lack of security, as only my bag is scanned never me as I walk officially across the border. I can see why some people are tempted to bring weed across though I'd never risk it.

Get down the street, try uber and realize I have no signal due to phone not realizing I'm in Mexico yet. Forced to take a white libre cab I do so while committing the driver to 5 $ for ride to HK. I think he was going to bring me somewhere for cerveza likely for a kickback but I am firm on HK.

I'd booked a reservation at casc and had been planning on meeting up with some folks from the forums who said they were willing to show me around the Zona. They were an hour behind me as my flight landed very early. I got to casc and got my VIP card though realized too late I needed print outs of the coupons to redeem them. Luckily the guy seemed to be nice and give me two of the coupons for buying VIP (buy one drink get second free and half off a lap dance).

I try to check in to casc but it's a 3 o clock checkin which is annoying but whatever. I leave my bag with them and head back to HK to check it out. Walk in and am pleasantly surprised at how attractive the girls are despite what I'd heard. Definitely my type and the stripping helps.

Normally my debit card reimburses me but it wouldn't work likely due to fraud and I had no idea how to call the 1800 number from Mexico. Had to take cash advances on my credit card which sucked as it was an extra 7% on top of the 10 $ fees.

I'd brought 300 $ in 1, 5, and 10 $ notes but I still needed money for Arriba and so I started using pesos.

Today I had more luck with two sessions where the first girl I sessioned I got her for 1100 pesos with a promise of a tip. Good session overall though not truly memorable.

The second girl was my favorite of the day. She was definitely all time favorite. I believe her name was Marianna. Amazingly playful, fun and cute, and great in bed. With her it was amazing service, almost like sex with a GF and she definitely got into the passion of the session.
