No idea what you mean by shared apartment, the action in tijuana is (a) club girls (b) escorts (c) streetwalkers.

Did you read the posts of guys talking about the shared apartments or casas that are in Tijuana? Just because you haven't seen something doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Also besides casas you can go to the massage places that have girls, beside the one across from HK the one next to Pueblo Amigo is still around and I'm sure some of the other ones still exist.

Tijuana has many different options for girls it's just most guys don't get out to explore them.

My understanding is per Mexican federal law you're supposed to carry your passport and FMM card on you at all times in Mexico (maybe I'm wrong about this). In theory, policia can detain you if you don't have them on you if they really wanted to is my understanding. Though in all my years going to Tijuana I've never had policia stop me or ask me for those documents, to the point where I'm very comfortable not carrying them around when I'm out and about in Tijuana as it can be a bit of a pain in the ass to have that stuff on you at all times.

Tijuana has always been a bit of an exception. DL has always been fine even though the law says you need your PP on your person. But I always carry my passport card, too, just in case. They're cheap and handy and you can travel all over Mexico with them.

Tijuana has always been pretty lax about FMM, too. You're supposed to surrender them when you leave the country, but they don't enforce that and you can re-use them. However, they appear to be doing away with them. Used to be when you flew into Mexico, or crossed at CBX, you had to get one. I flew into Mexico City a few months ago and nothing. If you had an RFID passport you could even go through the electronic kiosks. In both cases there were no FMMs issued.

Since the beginning of the new year, I have crossed by foot via the San Ysidro entry 5 times. Each time, I did not see anyone fill-out a FMM form to enter Mexico. They either dropped the requirement or I may cross too early. I cannot speak for later in the evenings. Has anyone else noticed this change?

This afternoon forget about filling out anything or even talking to anyone because the foreigners line was flat out closed. Everyone just walked through.

They have been waving me in 90% of the time and stamping me 10% of the time but every time just about I see others filling form out. Whe. I go I tell him good afternoon just going to Tijuana for 1 night. In Spanish is I tell him. Most of the people filling it out are couples likely going on vacation. At this point I have run out of room for stamps maybe I have 2 spots left.

Get a passport card Dodgers69. Also easier to carry around than a full passport.

Hey all, first post here. Been reading lots here in anticipation of my first mongering trip to Tijuana. I plan on going for a weekend this spring. Would you recommend my staying at Cascadas and focusing on HK to get my feet (et-al) wet? I'm sure I'll venture out a little from there and at least pursue the street action. I feel pretty street smart, but don't want to find any trouble. Should I keep my passport on me or keep it in my room?

Also, what's the "shared apartment" scene I've seen mentioned here. Sounds interesting but I don't get it.

If you are going for the spectacle of HK then staying at Cascadas is fine. However, escorts are much better value than HK girls (HK: 100/30 CFS vs. Escorts 120/60 GFE) and escorts do not go into Zona Norte. I would stay somewhere on Revolucion, which is walking distance to HK during the day but take a cab after maybe 10 p. Most commonly recommended is hotel ticuan.

Same, I only cross during the day and have never signed up for nor been asked to present FMM.

Before maybe 10-15 years ago, Tijuana police regularly checked documents, pockets and wallets in the sentri area just before pedestrian entering the US. It was popular to carry cash in your socks rather than in your wallet to avoid having your money confiscated. They don't check like that now. I have a small passport card and money in my wallet in a closed zipper pocket.

Yeah I've never been asked for anything but an ID and I always just give them my drivers license. I also don't due the FFM since I drive across and it has never been an issue.

Tijuana and HK are pretty simple to figure out, if your only visiting for a couple of days you will have plenty to keep you busy.

Read the recent post by Urfikhan and if you have a more specific question I'd post it in that section. If it's your first visit to Tijuana you might be better off just getting your feet wet in the Zona and look into escorts or casas on your next visit if the Zona wasn't your thing.

I noticed recently that the white van with the blue and ligh stripe t bluefaster going ride back to the border. This takea a more direct route. The only down side it drops you off on Av de la Amistad. This is just east of the side of old shopping center just east of the pedestrian bridge. So you save about 10 minutes going back to the border. I am not certain what times this van stops running. I believe around 8. But need to ask.

Is there much else to do around La Cueva club?

Depends what you are looking to do? Are you talking about girls or actual things to do like shopping, restaurants, movies?

I think the more information on what you like to do would help those of us that are familiar with Tijuana to assist you in finding what your looking for.

If you Google you'll find several escort-related sites in Tijuana. The least-expensive options are girls who do what is called "in-call" in the USA. In these cases the girl rents an apartment and sees clients. Sometimes the apartment is shared with other girls. Occasionally the girl actually lives there.

The process is you contact her, you set up an appointment, you go there, you have fun, you pay and you leave. But this is NOT the scene for newbies and you must be at least conversant in Spanish. I've had mostly good luck, but a couple of duds and flakes.
