Does anyone know of a quick affordable way where I could make mobile to mobile calls while in Tijuana for a day or two in case of swapping numbers with some chicas without changing my existing plan with my carrier? I'm on Crickets simple smart phone plan for US only calls but would charge me another $15 for international calling which I think may only cover land lines also.

Do they still working on the border crossing by the the duty free shop at the very last parking lot on the right side or you still have to cross to Tijuana from the trolley station entrance?

I never pay more than $60 for regular session. From HK or AB. There are even a few girls who stand on the street that are worth doing to and they are $20 a pop. If you can find one that you click with even better.

True except the street chicas are only $14 US dollars if. You pay in pesos 200 that is. Most all of the ones worth your time will accept 10 p to 1 dollar and the rate is over 14 to 1 when you exchange for pesos.

Some HK or AB chicas will accept 500 to 700 pesos, granted you will have to interview a few and best during the week than 'weak end'.

Are Hong Kong girls still younger than AB, Is the going arriba still at $80 for HK and $60 for AB, the rooms were $11 and beers in AB were $3 and her drinks were $7 ea. What's the difference now? Also do they still working on the border crossing where the walk in entrance is from the 5 south by the duty free shop?

I spent some lovely evenings in Adelitas and the Chicago about fifteen years ago. I've not had an opportunity to get back, but might do so this May. Could anyone tell me how the action is relative to then? More women / less? More dangerous / about the same? Any new advice for an old monger?

Adelitas likely hasn't changed all that much. It is a little more laid back than Hong Kong, not always dancers on stage. You can go and sit at the bar and relax and not get bothered. Hong Kong definitely has changed, much more upscale now, more stages, louder music, perhaps prettier girls than Adelitas. I have had an awesome time at both places. It's all about finding the right girl. I do think overall I like Adelitas more, the rooms aren't as nice, no shower generally, but lately the girls have been more relaxed. I go to Hong Kong more to watch the show and find perhaps a prettier girl, but the performance at Adelitas has been superior, for the most part.

In terms of how dangerous it is, I find that in San Diego people are mortified if you talk about going to Tijuana. I have never had a hint of a problem there, but I always go in the afternoon and am sure to be out of there before dark.

Adelita probably has roughly the same number. It's been remodeled significantly. Hong Kong has taken the lion's share of the business, so, on average, AB will tend to be slower than it once was. Generally, there seems to be less silicone than years ago.

Chicago is a shadow of its former self. Very quiet most nights, some would say dead. It picks up somewhat after, say, 11:00 pm. But nothing like it was in the "good old days" when it was SRO.

Wow, great to receive a response from you after reading some of your post and seeing that you have quite experience in Tijuana. Some of the terms I've come across that I'm trying to come up to date with are the following:

La Zona (Norte).

Ficha.

MBGF.

LC.

GFE.

Ratera.

Meteor.

TLN.

What exactly is Revulicion.

I currently reside in Phx and walked across the border and caught a cab for $18 usd from Otay to Tijuana with just my DL and had no problem crossing back but was asked if I could please bring my passport which I have the next time I visit. Only visited HK since time was limited and had to be back in SD for a job.

Are you planning any recent visits to Tijuana soon? Would really like to get together with an experienced monger to show me ropes.

La Zona, more correctly La Zona Norte, is literally the "North Zone. " Tijuana is split into various zones, like North, Centro (downtown), Rio, etc. La Zona Norte is the area designated by the Tijuana government as the "Zone of tolerance. " Prostitution is legal in Mexico, but standing on the street corners accosting passers-by, etc. , is not. Tijuana has tried to keep most of the "blatant" action confined to this area of town. So, most of the hooker bars are concentrated here.

Ficha - Spanish for "card" (in this case). It's a ticket that a girl gets when you buy her a "ficha drink. " This is proof that she has earned that drink and you'll see the mesero write her name on it. At the end of the night she turns them in and receives her commission, about 30 pesos per.

MBGF - Make-believe Girl Friend. More or less what you get when you develop a relationship with a bar girl.

LC - Las Chavelas Bar. AKA Las Chubbies. The bar east of Hong Kong known for more local-type girls who often tend to be on the plumper side.

GFE - Girl Friend Experience. Can mean many things but often taken to mean kissing, BBBJ, etc.

Ratera / Ratero - A catch-all that means a dishonest person, often out to cheat you, steal money, etc. Ratero is for males, Ratera is for females.

Meteor - No idea. Check spelling?

TLN - Toda La Noche, I. E. An all-nighter.

Revolucion or La Revu - The main street that runs north / south through downtown. For all intents and purposes it delineates the easternmost boundary of the Zona Norte, and is well known for many tourist trinket shops, clip joint bars (all located south of 1st street), the famous striped donkeys, etc. , etc. In the past, when gringos ruled Tijuana, most of Revu was party central for a bazillion young partiers, as the drinking age in Mexico is 18.

I was just there on Friday last (been too lazy to file a TR, but will get around to it). Not sure about this weekend.

Would love to to return but am currently doing my homework on ISG and ask if someone could point out some of the lingo I'm coming across mean. Looked at Terms and Abbreviations and didn't see much what I was coming across. Also, if experienced monger is heading to Tijuana soon and don't mind showing me around would be great. 34 Hispanic male with limited Spanish but did ok and made the best of my money by paying attention to anyone trying to take advantage.
