Mesero.

This is the waiter. He can be your best friend, or your worst enemy. He is mostly just an annoying pest. His job is to get you to buy, buy, buy. His goal is to get you to tip, tip, tip. So he's not going to leave you alone. He is going to attach to you as you walk through the curtains, try to guide you to a seat, take your drink order, and expect at least a one dollar tip for each drink he brings you. If you are sitting alone, he soon will bring you a girl, who will act all friendly toward you with the hopes that you will invite her to sit down, buy her a ficha drink, which the waiter will happily go get, as he also gets a commission for selling an eight dollar beer, plus the expected tip. If you do invite her to sit, he will be back very shortly, trying to speed up her drinking, so you can buy her another eight dollar beer. In some bars the waiters wear badges with a number, to help you identify them, and to give illusions of them being honest. Many of the waiters are honest and friendly. However many of them are in collusion with some of the girls, especially when they see a customer who doesn't appear to know how to handle the situation, or is drunk and easily taken advantage of. They will try to work several different scams on you. They might conveniently forget to bring you back your change. Or overcharge, or bring drinks not asked for, or bring expensive drinks for the girls and extort you for the payment. Be careful. There are strategies on how to deal with the waiters, but a lot of it comes with experience. And some of that experience gets learned the hard way. After years of experience, what works for me is this. I walk in, like I own the place. I ignore the waiters, and walk straight to the bar, and get my first drink there. The bartender doesn't really expect a tip. The waiters will respect a guy who looks like he knows what he's doing. Usually I order a can of mineral water (more about that later). If a waiter then tries to guide me to a seat, I usually just point towards the other end of the bar, and start walking over there, and find my own seat. So the waiters don't try to attach to me, I move around quite a bit from one side to the other, and it also gives me an opportunity to check out the goods. If the waiter tries to bring me over a girl, I will politely say Hello, to her, and the waiter will try to have me invite her to sit down, but I will just keep motioning her to stand up. I want to find my own girl. But if she's attractive, when I dismiss her and the waiter, she will usually ask for a dollar tip in the Hong Kong anyway, for which I will gladly give, in exchange for a good grope of her titties and / or ass. I like to keep separate my drinking, which I can do anywhere, from my mongering, which I can only do in the Zona. That's why the can of mineral water. It keeps me more alert of my surroundings both tasty and troublesome, if I get hassled by the police outside, I am totally sober. And the biggest advantage it is in the club, when I am finished with the water, the damn waiters can't tell that I'm done and rush to get me to buy another. I'll usually go into the bathroom and refill it, of course I won't drink that one, but if a pesky waiter picks up the can to see if it's got anything in it, he'll see that it's still quite full, and leave me alone. Now the waiters can be your friend too, especially in some of the bars away from HK. You can tell them exactly the kind of girl you're looking for. And they seem to have a way to find her, even if she is in the dressing room, bathroom or just hiding out. And that's worth a dollar tip, for sure, if she in fact is exactly the type that you are looking for. It's even possible to develop a positive relationship with a waiter, who will look out for you. In summary, however, just remember, you are the boss. You buy the drink when you want to. If they're pestering you just ignore them or dismiss them with a flick of your hand. Or get up and go to a different area of the bar. I repeat, you are the boss.

This is the puta who goes around the bar, in just about every bar, trying to get you to buy her a drink. Every girl in every bar is happy for you to buy her a drink so she can pick up her ficha. Your beer might cost two to four dollars, but hers will cost you seven or eight dollars. The bartender gives her a ficha or a chip which she cashes in at the end of the night for 30 pesos each. Be careful that she doesn't order some super fancy expensive drink, which has been known to happen, which you will have to pay for. Their drinks are kind of small, and you get an opportunity to get a feel for whether the girl might be fun to take upstairs for a session. And when I say a feel, that's what I mean. The eight dollar drink ought to buy you the opportunity to probe her orifices, and see how willing, friendly, horny she can be. Try to take her to an out-of-the-way table where you can get her to sit on your hand and probe away. However, you just might find out that she is a shark, drinking fast and taking off just as fast for the next sucker. If you like the girl you might use the situation to negotiate what you and she will do and for how much upstairs. Unless you're rich, it's not a good idea to spend a lot on ficha girls. You will be spending money that could better be used in other ways.

Well Mondays in the Zona seem to be pretty dead. I ended up using the LC coupon for half price Hotel in Cascadas if you buy a bucket. If you use this coupon be sure to count the beers in your bucket they gave me 8 and I remembered last time a bucket was 10 ,so I called them on it and they brought me 2 more beers. No ISG amigos met up with me to help me drink so I met up with my MBGF and her amiga. The football game was on in every bar and I had a little money on Ohio St. So it was fun. LC was an absolute ghost town even with a band playing.

Ended up checking out the other bars, HK was the only place that was somewhat busy. Nobody in La Malqurida, Valentina's or La Gloria ended up hanging out in Tropical enough people to make it fun. The amiga kept getting hit on even though she was off duty. Can someone explain why some mongers are more attracted to a girl dressed in regular clothes than chicks walking around half naked. Anyways she transformed into BG real quick and started selling a bunch of fichas at the end of the night she cashed out and everybody was fall down drunk. We went over to the old Sherry's tacos and when it was time to split up for the night the amiga was so drunk she realized she didn't have her money anymore. She looked everywhere for a half hour, even was taking her tits out and checking for the money, nothing. Now that I think about it I'm the one who probably got scammed since I ended up giving her $10 for the cab. Ohh well I also lost my ticket from Caliente. It was fun but I better learn to be more careful when drinking to much.

Through years of research I have developed a list of 50 different types of characters you will encounter in the Zona. I will share my thoughts about each of them throughout 2015. You're opinions may differ. Here are the first two descriptions.

Hong Kong puta.

They will be standing along the sides, or sitting with a friend or two, hoping to catch your eye. Some of them do the soapy lesbian show. Sometimes they dance on stage, using the pole or the suspended ring. Some are superbly athletic when they do their thing on the ring. Many of them are very good looking, young, wild, with firm bodies. They will try to charge you $80-100 for a 30 minute session, but $60 is the going rate but you usually have to bargain for that. Weekdays in the afternoons is the best time for the best rates, but the selection is a little more limited. As always, discuss your desires before you go upstairs. GFE is the norm, if you ask for it. The hotel room for these girls run about $18, which adds to the expense of sessioning with them. In the club they will try to get you to buy them a drink, or offer a $1 titty or ass grope. If you see one you like, you can tell her how beautiful she is and ask her for a grope. Some are quite aggressive, and some are pretty shy. The aggressive ones will come up to you and start DFK-ing you or sit on your lap and rub your dick, or offer their titties right in your face. All in the hope of a drink, or a dollar tip, or the possibility of an upstairs session. Some work in pairs, which is kind of fun, presenting unique challenges and pleasures, but then a double grope will cost two dollars.

Pardita.

These are the girls that line the side streets and alleys. They are mostly reminiscent of cows. Not known for good service, they will probably be playing a video game or on Facebook while you're fucking them from behind. If you don't negotiate everything you want upfront, you'll probably have a girl who just pulls her pants down past her butt. They are not very good at math. They will charge you $20 American or 200 pesos for basic service. A $5 savings for using pesos. Most are pretty ugly, and most of the good looking ones have very poor service and try to upsell you for everything. The uglier or more aggressive ones will make a schhhh sound as you walk by to get your attention, or even tug at your arm or pants. There is a lot of coming and going. Someone you see today may never be there again, or may go away for three weeks before returning. There are some that are fresh off the bus from the interior of the country, and then there are some that have been in the same spot for a decade or longer. The experienced ones don't want to work in the club, because they don't like being groped for a dollar, or always hustling for fichas. The majority are ugly, jaded, or bitter, or all three. However there are some diamonds in the rough, that are good looking, friendly, and provide GFE during their 20 minute sessions. One of the most fun things in the Zona is to search for these special paraditas.

Just to clarify, were the 5 beers were ficha beers? Playboy has a similar deal with a "VIP" room (one-way glass), and they tend to do the same. Promise extra time, but deliver 45 minutes. You must pay the girl extra, the money you pay the bar covers the ficha drinks. Basically, not worth the money. Go to a hotel.
