The zona is relatively safe. But I always look to see who is behind me in the zona. I usually stay in the zona unless there is SW I am looking for.

Once you leave HK, the risk for a mugging goes up with each step away from HK. I've done the walks but shouldn't have. The only attractive woman, IMO, is walking south from HK, on the side with playboy club, so go out HK front door, make right, walk past Adelitas, make first right, and walk a few blocks, that's it. The other side of that street is where I got assaulted when I wasn't drinking or going to hk just walking to a hotel. That back streets going east west definitely don't do those alone and any girl found on those streets you don't want. You really have to do this walk between 11 am to 4 pm to find that attractive 28 year old, that's new. Its also safer. Once you leave HK, the risk for a mugging goes up with each step away from HK. I've done the walks but shouldn't have. Felt the need for some action so decided to head to Tijuana and see my new favorite Elizabeth. Normally don't visit Tijuana on Mondays since things are usually slow in the Zona.
