Yesterdays trip to Tijuana was one of the easiest and trouble free trips I have made to Tijuana in quite awhile. It's very disheartening to cross over the bridge and see the pedestrian line backed all the way back to the end of the street.

When I go to Tijuana I walk around those streets more than 2-3 times over the course of a few hours. Somtimes I will walk from Hong Kong (alley side) to the arch to the school girls and back to Hong Kong 3 round trips without a break and then do it again in 2 or 3 hours. I go up one side of the street and down the other, it is exercise between rounds. I seldom walk Ninos Heros. Then I will do it again and again over the next few days. I have never been confronted, except by the normal street girls, beggers, doormen, gum sellers, and very few obvious con artists. I've never lost a single peso to a pickpocket or become afraid of a single encounter. I'm an obvious gringo and have worn clothes ranging from nice office casual stuff to old and stained construction clothes. The only difference I notice from the first pass to the last pass is that the street girls pay less attention to me after they know that I'm not interested.

I'm wondering if your appearance and actions are related to the confrontation. And, have you been confronted more than one time?

Not sure what you are referring to. But I have noticed if you do become a regular in the Zona, and lets say you do have a regular girl you see there. And lets say you might want to make a trip to the Zona and skip meeting up with the regular it might be hard to do. I have noticed a whole communicatios network that goes on down there. Whether it is a waiter who used to work in the club you frequented and now is a barker out on the street, or the flower girl or the people selling snaks that travel from bar to bar, yes YOU ARE BEING WATCHED, and your actions might be reported. But not sure what you mean by confronted.

Gringos are paying, in general, a MINIMUM of $20US. Most as stated here in trip reports seem to paying more for sin ropa (no clothes) , blow jobs, etc.

If he is paying 200 pesos and getting a BJ, then that is still less than a gringo. The $20US would be for her just laying there, probably with her top on and one pants leg still on, and a door knock telling you to hurry up at 10-15 minutes into the session.

And, another point we are making here is that chicas seem to want, and be getting, $20US from gringos (for basic sex as I just stated) which is more than 200 pesos (15US dollars). So please keep that in mind. Your friend is telling the truth, he IS paying less and getting more. So there is no contradiction.

What we are saying here is that LOTS of gringos are falling for the "but 200 pesos is only $15 US dollars, see look at the exchange rate gringo, you need to give me more," scam.

You should always tell the girl you are giving her 200 (or 150) pesos (say it in Spanish) and make sure she knows sin ropa (no clothes) , and suckie (they understand this term). If she says no, or starts talking about exchange rates just walk off.

And, another reason Mexicans, and long-term gringos, such as myself, get better service is the girls know they will see you again. No girl wants a reputation among the local men that she is a bad lay. Nor do they want to scare off the "golden" gringo. But newbies and easily henpecked gringos are IN TROUBLE.

Today was a good day for me with SGs. None during the day time really grabbed my attention, but in the evening I saw a young, thin looking thing that got me ready to go. So I made a friend yesterday who is a local Tijuana resident, and we hung out alot today. He showed me a lot of Tijuana and explained to me a lot about the life and culture here. One thing he did mention that seems contradictory to what alot of people are saying here is the gringo upcharge for SGs. Is there really a 100 peso upcharge or are people here just guessing. He basically tells me that the normal price for anyone is 200 pesos. You can get your dick sucked and have sex in one position for 20 minutes. The guy seems really knowledgeable since he works as a security guard in one of the hotels here in the Zona Norte, so can somebody confirm? Maybe this extra 100 peso difference isn't an upcharge and instead a negotiable discount which is a lot different and maybe something we can all benefit from. Not that I really care about an extra 100 pesos, but somebody here might.

A local cholo told me the best price he has gotten is 150mx. Sometimes free if you go into the right bars and the right girls are there and want to get loaded on your dime. 99% of gringos will not find this.

I have often heard a bag of dope will do the trick better than pesos or green backs.
