- "Donde estar el quatro de bao?" which sounds a lot like "where's the bathroom", but actually means "Where to be the four of bath".

- "Quantos dolores cuesta est sombrero?" which sounds a lot like "How many dollars does that hat cost", but actually says "How many pains cost is hat?

If you say something like that, the locals perceive that you're doing your best, even if your Spanish totally sucks.

One more thing: if you speak some Spanish, tell folks "Si hablas despacio, voy a entender ms. Necesito un momentito para pensar en cada palabra. " It's amazing how much better you can understand Spanish if people speak it slowly.

In less than a minute, anyone can correctly determine that I am not fluent in Spanish. I probably know only a couple hundred Spanish words.

I know that when I attempt to speak Spanish, I sound like a two year-old. It quickly fishes out if the chica knows any English.

I'll share with you my short, direct Spanglish approach to street girls, that has never been misunderstood (as far as I can tell).

Without Spanish it will be rough getting good deals from the paraditas lining the streets in the Zona. If you can, download a translator app on your phone and program in some standard phrases that you can pull up quickly. Make sure you negotiate EVERYTHING with them, down to the last detail. The basic price they quote you if you just ask "How much?" will be $20 for 15 minutes of pants down sex in their hotel (plus $5-6 for the room). No BJ, only one position, and they won't get naked. If you want any of that, or more time, or kissing, or anything else, make that part of the deal. If you can pay in pesos it will likely be cheaper. If you just ask "how much for this, how much for that?" it will likely be $10 more for each thing, until you are paying Hong Kong prices.

As far as bringing one of the street girls up to your room, it's not the hotel that is restricting you. If you have a room as Cascadas (HK) or Coahuila (AB), you can bring up any girl. I hear that the Paola that used to stand outside of HK is now in HK underneath the center staircase. Unfortunately she is less friendly and has developed a bit of a bitchy attitude. Blazing hot days like today is awful time to visit Tijuana. I avoid Tijuana when it is this hot. When it is hot I only visit Tijuana before 11 am or after 3 or 4 pm at the earliest. There is almost no breeze in the Zona when it is sweltering hot.
