I managed to get hold of my girl. She said she did not have a phone so go meet her at her hotel. Went to her hotel But the manager said he did not know her. I should asked what room she was staying in. Kept trying to reach her. But never did. I was quite irritated so decided to try this girl named Alice across from Cascada hotel. Yeah, I guess I can't think of a scenario where I'd ever be waiting outside for a chica in a sketchy area like that, especially around 7 when it's getting dark out. 100% of the times I've ever waited for a chica in Tijuana I'm either in my room waiting for her to come up (or for her to text me to come down to where she is outside) or waiting for her inside the club. Standing around for a prolonged period in an area like that when it's getting dark is just asking for trouble, with our without a phone. Also, based on your description of a previous mugging attempt, it seems you possibly fit a profile that Zona Norte thugs would most likely target (older white gringo)? If so, all the more reason to take as many precautions as you can to stay safe.

It depends where you are. One time some guy tried to mug me and I yelled for help. Fortunately someone came over & helped out. It is important to always look and see who is behind you. Also try be aware and careful when you are alone.

One thing I do remember about the days when the chokeout muggings were more common. The one thing the victims seemed to have in common was they reported there were many people around but nobody did anything to help.

Some of dental work came loose on Sunday so made a special trip to have it fixed yesterday evening. Decided to see my girl since I was already down there. I was waiting for at this hotel on Primera by Nino's Hero's As I was waiting this kid BMX bike rode by and snatched my phone. I tried running after him. But he got away. I was irritated since I had just bought the phone about 4 months ago. This incident really caught me by surprise.
