Hah. Rented house, about 60-90 minutes north of Tijuana. You can thank unexpected chronic health conditions in the family and the costly US health insurance racket for the inability to save for a deposit.

I guess if you were single, or at least without school age kids, and don't mind an hour or two at the border every morning, or can time your crossing to minimise wait times, then it could work. I'm self employed, work from home with a PC, so wouldn't need to go much. But circumstances won't permit.

Must admit I was surprised at how many Mexicans come over to the US every weekend with their B1/2 visas. Apparently many work in the US daily, though I've only met the weekenders.

I would agree, for better or worse, they are more humble and straight forward. I have not heard the term advanced mongering. I hesitate to say it is more complex but you are definitely on your own. My Spanish is very limited. I will say that on my first visit, the SG experience was a bit overwhelming. The selection, the negotiation can be overwhelming at first. So I haven't seen that term but I can relate for a novice monger.

I think you made another great point. Generally speaking, GFE is probably more important to a less experienced monger. So the business aspect could also be off-putting to a newbie.

I'm starting to notice this too. As of late, street girls have been really nice to me. No attitude whatsoever and really humble.

HK girls OTOH have been giving me bad vibes and attitude. I'm being more friendly but not acting like an easy to please newbie. One girl made up some excuse about why she had to leave shortly after I bought her a ficha even though I was being very friendly and would have taken her arriba if she just stuck around for the drink and was nice. She was willing to give up an easy sale based on some idea she had about me even though we hasn't discussed business.
