How does someone get a single room? If I show up here with no reservations there's none left. If I make a reservation the day before and show up by two pm they say no rooms left. Do they not like what I look like? Or do they not really have 45 dollar rooms and only try upsell hundred dollar rooms? Is Cascades same problems? Cascades is not the same problem. You can make a reservation online at Cascades, and if you keep your confirmation # they typically can bring up your reservation. Sometimes a reservation is lost, but the problem I see occurring most is them not having a reserved Master Suite, so you are stuck taking a regular single.

Now I have not tried to get a room at Hotel Coahuila (above Adelitas Bar) since year 2005 or 2006. Back then they didn't take reservations (I guess if you were extra generous or connected there might have been a way to make a reservation). So back in 2005 the only way to insure you got an overnight room in Hotel Coahuila was to show up, in person, at their front desk at some time like noon to 1:30 PM when the last overnight guests were checking out and making numerous rooms available. Back then, and I think pretty much still to this day, you need to physically be there with dollars or pesos in hand when it is convenient for them. Overnight rooms would often sell-out (especially on Friday and Saturday nights) so it was always a good idea to check in and buy your overnight room as early as possible.
