Adlitas hotel cahoula now has a policy of only adelitas girls in your room, for Monday through Wednesday, the other days go back to normal rules. Of course Monday through Wednesday is 20 dollar a night days. With bar girls asking for 100 I wouldn't be surprised if HK hotel did something similar at some point. I can understand the reasoning but I dislike the option of being limited.

I don't understand this weird extreme tipping thing that occurs at Hong Kong when it doesn't occur like that in the US. Sure, I will tip the bartender when I order a drink because that what I will do at dive bars in the US, tipping meseros for bringing me a drink, maybe. Tipping girls for just sitting with me? That doesn't happen at strip clubs in the US, so why would I do that in Mexico when its also not the norm in other strip clubs in mexico? I find it comedic to an extent, because the tipping situation at HK feels a joke of American tipping culture. I feel like.

It is a joke. I have long said that too many Americans are like Rodney Dangerfield in Caddyshack. Running around stuffing money in everybody's pocket. The entire tipping thing in the Zona Norte has gotten completely out of control.

The amount you tip is like an obvious tell in poker. My Mexican buddies constantly scolded me for overtipping until I adapted to their norms. They told me 10% and 15% max and that's only if service is stellar. When you tip appropriately, it signals that you know the score. For example, pre-COVID at Tropical I'd get two Indio beers at a time for a total of 72 pesos. I'd tip the bartender or mesero 8 pesos to make it an even 80 total. They tap the 8 pesos on the counter or table to signal appreciation and I'd get good service all night. They know that I know Mexico tipping norms so there are probably better targets out there than me to run their games with the girls to milk as much money as possible from unsuspecting guys.

I tip the meseros 1 dollar per trip. I will not tip a girl $5 when she starts to drink. In fact, I generally do not tip them anything just to drink with me. They get their ficha and I feel they should be satisfied with that. Now, if I click with a girl, I will tip her after a drink or two. It's not necessarily based on her hand in my pants or anything like that. If we seem to like each other's company, then I will tip her. And in my experience, those girls do not let the meseros run the show. First, she's enjoying herself. Second, my tip is better than her ficha. Lastly, she knows arriba could be in the future. More than a few chicas have told a mesero to get lost when they shake that little bottle. The key though, in my opinion, is finding the girl that wants to be there. If they are in it solely for the money, tipping her is not wise.

But her a drink and if she's still "cold & distant" send her on her way. No tip. If she uses the time well, with touching, flirting, and attention, then she deserves more drinks.

Yes it is safe if you are careful, like in any big city. Don't walk alone down dark alleys, don't get too drunk or high, don't wave around money or flashy jewelry in public. If you don't know exactly where you are going, take a cab or an uber.

Yes, you can go alone. You may get lonely or bored by yourself, but that's when you introduce yourself to a nice Mexican girl and take her to a room to talk.

Proper etiquette for the bars is to walk in and find a girl you like. Offer to buy her a drink. You can drink water or coke. Her drink will be $9 plus a tip. Pay in dollars. For that price she will sit with you for a short time and try to get you to take her to a room. If you don't like her, send her away and pick someone else.

I went to the Hong Kong Club for my first journey, and if it were 13 months ago, I would fully recommend same for you. The numbers of women there at HK are. (plenty enough).
