The pedestrian crossing into Mexico is different than the pedestrian crossing into the USA. You do not have to show your passport or I'd to get into Mexico, you simply walk across. In all my years going back & forth, I have never been asked to produce I'd to get into Mexico. Only once have I been asked to show what was in my bag, it was a big bag for a week stay. They just asked me what I was bringing in, I unzipped it and said "my clothes", they didn't even look through or touch anything, just said to proceed. That's rare, as I've never had my backpack searched for weekend stays.

You'll be fine getting in to Mexico if you're traveling light.

Even when I cross over to do a over nighter and I have a backpack. At OM crossing, they will ask you to press that stupid button to randomly check those crossing in. Almost each time they checked the contents of my bag. Even more so for my monger buddy who happens to be Mex. He gets searched more than me but at SY crossing I have never been asked to press the button when I cross over with my backpack.

I would not recommend the Tijuana Marriott. They are not really escort friendly. I stayed there once and others have reported the same experience. They will card the girls, make a copy of there I'd and charge you a surcharge on your room.

I have been to Tijuana about 10 times over the past 2-3 years and stay a week per visit. I have found the Ticuan to be an excellent hotel in a good area within walking distance to the zone. Highly recommended for the price and value.

I strongly suggest you forget about scoring "Mary Jane" there. If you get caught you may never see the US again for a long time. The last thing you need in Tijuana are legal problems, mixing it up with policia, or seeing the inside of the La Mesa prison. Mexico is not Colorado.

It's very easy to get into Mexico. Getting out is another matter. Don't sweat it.

In fact it will get you across faster than a passport since it is a WHTI document. You see, when you come back, there are 3 lines: Regular, WHTI, and SENTRI. They tend to be slowest to fastest in that order. You should go in the WHTI line.

We don't have enhanced Driver Licenses in California, so most people don't around here don't know what that is or how it is different.
