I think it began strongly enforce about 2016. During that time the current female mayor with backing from the capital; aggressively Increased persecution of the SW. Many locals wanted things to stay the same. That decision cost her The next election. That election took place just prior to the Covid pandemic.

However, once in office nothing changed. The closing of Classico, City lights, Bourbon Street, and Rumbas were all politically targeted for closing. So not only was the chicas being targeted; businesses that catered to that type of crowd in that area were shut down. Rumbas has adapted however they cannot control the harassment of the police.

Guys like myself and many others who have made it a custom to going to the Sue have learned to adapt. New guys have dealt with was given to them not knowing what they missed. As Gogo stated The police targeted the Chicas and left the tourist alone. Believe it or not this cycle has been working and the Sue has still been a hotspot for P4 P. But the air is slowly deflating..

Willie the Mayor also owns Classico's last time I checked. There have been rumors for two weeks of Classico's opening but it hasn't happened yet.

This weekend is Halloween and many events are planned in Sosua so it will be a test. If Classico's doesn't open it probably won't for awhile. Also visited a couple of nice after hour spots in Sosua. Sharks is nice and the Casino was packed.

Ramona's was packed also Saturday night to celebrate her birthday. My favorite spot is the Treehouse 2, close to kings. Old school r&b DJ, nice looking girls and good food. We are at the point now where something is going to have to give. Obvious someone higher than the Mayor is calling the shots. The cycle of adjusting to the current situation comes with the territory of visiting or living there. The Dominicans who called the shots have they eyes on something bigger and I respect them.

The Sue is off my list for a while but I have my fingers crossed. Meanwhile Medellin, Cartagena, Bogota and other places are on a rise.

I would think that the fact that prostitution is legal in DR, is a major factor in the availability of all those girls you see, that are getting off the Thursday and Friday buses, many of them young newbies. I have been doing Sosua for 10 years and there have always been many girls from Santo domingo and a many from Santiago especially on the weekends. THE girls are attracted by quick money or the hope of quick money. The girls have no idea how much competition there is on the streets. Many are neighborhood hotties who think the will have guys falling all over them. I have encountered very few pimps during my sojourns. No one needs any help help findng women in Sosua. Food on the street costs very little. They get lucky if they are with me or someone like me who treats them with a nice dinner. Many a times I have dropped them there while I go for a massage and pick them up later. They do not go to the places we go and even if they do they negotiate and pay half the price. One girl took me to a low end massage place but I would not partake because it was dirty and stinky. If I find a nice friendly girl I tend to keep them for a few days and I always rent a car.

In general their outlay in minimal. They are very careful investing lot of money hoping to catch a money dodo who will pay asking price and more. Many of them do not get any customers. Especially with tourism way down they will not make a trip..

Another thing is Dominican women regularly eat the " meal of the day" for 150 pesos consisting of beans, rice, chicken, salad and water. Feed them a fancy steak or seafood and they will pick at it. Most don't even know how to cut a steak.

Some people would say that the street walkers in Sosua ask for too much. But the reality is that these girls have to spend money to get there and be ready for the guys.

Example:

-If the girl is from Santo Domingo and goes for 3 days /2 nights she will spend $20 transport, $30 Hotel, $10 food, $50 heair and nails, $15 Clothes for a total: $125 dollars.

-If that girl has 4ST and 1 LT that would be about $250 dollars.

-So. That girl will get only about $125 dollars from getting laid with 5 different guys.

That's' why the prices are about US $45ST and US $100 LT.

Yes, asking price has gone up like inflation everywhere. Few years ago massage for one hour was $6 dollars and with tip used to come to $10. Now it is with tip $25 in a nice clean place.
