Just got back from Passions, definitely wouldn't call it dead. Very hot, temperature and girls. There were a few girls dancing, but kind of hard to see past the 5 reaching across the bar, wanting to go upstairs. Must have been an off night when you were there. The bars & discos further downtown, it is impossible to sit alone for more than 10 minutes before being approached by a girl. Usually more than one. This is anytime of the day, after dark it gets insane. Classicos & Winners, Rumba, that little bar on the corner of dr rosen, girls everywhere! Got to love it.

There is suppose to be a party today at Passions as they open a new bar in the club.

Yeah most likely. It just sucks being in the dead club.

I only went once and ended spending most of my time at Classicos and Winner Bar.

Next time I'll definitely give it another shot!

I went late September as well and the one night I visited (10pm) Passions was dead as a door nail.

A lot of girls just standing around and they seemed a bit cold to me.

I expected a lot of pole dancing, booty shaking etc but the girl were barely swaying

At least there were a lot of pretty girls.

Maybe it was so slow as in number of customers, the girls just got a bit down, as in any type of business when it's slow.

Yeah I know what you mean. But I was thinking about somebody like coolie's High- Junior, sombody recommended by other person from the forum.

I hear you, but let them drive their own vehicles (I think Junior has a truck). Chicas will be impressed with the thought of riding as opposed to walking for a change. It won't matter the make, model, or year of the vehicle.

You should probably look into hiring a driver from the actual rental agency. Not sure if you want to hire one of the locals to unnecessarily F up your rental."Trustable Guy" is a misnomer in the DR, LOL. You'd be better trusting "Murphy's Law" in this regard.

He could have done better staying at Blackbeard's and got quality chicas for 1800 pesos. For some reason BB's seems to always get their formula correct when it comes to chica talent. No offense to the OP of the FOD photos, but they (FOD) should take a few field trips over to Blackbeards and take some notes or hire a better talent recruiter.

I am going to have a rental car but I would like to have a TRUSTABLE guy who could drive it for me when I need it.

If you are putting a price on quality, passion, and performance in Sosua, then you need to take your time on your next trip and leave the 9s and 10s alone, this is of course you are only after the trophy fucks. But then again, you can have them for less than 2000 as well.

Kind of disrespectful. There are no worse DR women, only good, better and the best. The best were screwing other visitors inside and the better were mingling with other guys off the camera view. So what you see is good only.

On a nice day it's not hard driving and can be very beautiful and pleasant. But the OP should be aware that there can be crazy overloaded motoconchos, huge unexpected holes in the road, stray horses and dogs. And a legal system that may throw you into very scary jails if you have an accident even if you are clearly not a fault. Just saying read some of the old reports about driving adventures in the DR.

I would also say to the OP to keep in mind that several million people in the DR either drive or take transportation every day and they are not involved in accidents on a daily or annual basis any more than anyplace else. I've read the horror stories here on this site and others but I have been renting a car for every trip (about 30+ trips in all) driving here for the last 8 years every time and have never had an accident or even came close. Driving here is no different than driving any other place, foreign or domestic. The key is to drive sensibly and defensibly not like a maniac gringo on vacation.

The majority of the DR is rural, the kids play on the side of the road, farmers move their cows from one pasture to another and there are potholes. Drive accordingly. The motoconcho drivers have been riding those motor bikes since they could walk and they know how to drive them and the Dominican people know how to coexist on the roads with them IMO its the expats and gringos that make stupid driving mistakes that typically result in some mishap.

My post was an answer about how to drive between Sosua and PC, not about the potential dangers of that drive.

I've driven PC to Sosua and back a few times and its fairly easy but long. Before the new highway between LRM and PC the ride used to take about 3 hours between PC and SDQ and then another 3 hours from SDQ to Sosua, if you take the other new toll highway from SDQ to the north coast and then highway 5 thru Nagua, Rio San Juan, etc into Sosua. If you take SDQ thru Santiago way it may be longer.

I've read that the new highway between PC and LRM chops about 30. 45 minutes off of the time so your PC to SDQ part may only be 2 hours 15 minutes in stead of 3 hours now.

The drive is not difficult or dangerous or anything its just long, so technically it may be a 6 or 7 hour drive it may take you longer if you count in bathroom breaks, photo ops, potential puta opportunities and other tourist distractions. The trickiest part is navigating thru Nagua, the road is marked but not always clearly so pay attention.

I usually break the drive up into 2 parts, stopping halfway in BC and continuing on the next day arriving at my destination the next day refreshed and ready to hit the ground running.
