1. Look I'm not a total dick. LOL. I do tip waiters, maids / housekeepers, drivers (unless we agreed on a firm price beforehand), and other service stuff. I believe in subsidizing low-wage employees who go out of their way to serve me. WG's are a different matter, but I'm not going into that again.

2. I certainly didn't pay 1,000 DOP in 2019. I think it was 2014-2016 or something. From 2018 onward it was 1,500-2,500, IIRC.

Tipping and gifting policy has been hotly debated here for years, and some posts are just thinly veiled knocks at other posters who have an opposite view on the issue.

One person does not make a market. We have agreement on that. My numbers were from a trip to Sosua around 2015/2016. I am not accusing you of lying on your dick. But your clarification of the time frames helps. You have proven my point. According to you I paid 1500 DOP for a ST in 2015/2016. And then you still paid 1000 DOP in 2019. My over payment for pussy did not affect your market one bit now did it?

4. Are you seriously telling me that 5,000 DOP for ST is the new normal? Well, I haven't been to the DR in a couple of years, but since you live there you tell me. If not, then what are we arguing about?

I do not know what the market in Sosua for prostitutes is at the moment. I have only made one trip there. I live in the Dominican Republic, yes. But I live on the South Coast. East Side. And the last time I paid for a prostitute in early 2020 it was 1200 DOP for a short time. And even now I can pay 1500 DOP for a short time. So no, I am not telling you that 5,000 DOP for ST is the new normal on the South Coast on East Side!

I am not trying to nullify anything that you said Brother. We are both putting the facts related to our experiences out there. White Paper or no, you are still able to fuck who you like, where you like, how you like and pay what you like! As can I. I do not have the exact number of the number of prostitutes in Sosua or the number of Sexual Tourists making deals with them. There is not centralized market. So we are left with the reports that Brothers file up in here. And I thank all that file trip reports! And if I see something I have a question about it then I am going to ask. As for tipping, Sosua runs on propinas and they are expected from tourists. It's a fact of life.

I tip the housekeeper, get extra towels and stuff, and the chico who hauls the 5 gallon agua up to my room from across the street. He seems to always know when I'm about to run out.

The bar / restaurant owners here pay servers as little as 200 pesos a shift. They have to make it up by being nice to you.

And it's not wise to disappoint a server who brings you your food, prepared in a back room. LOL.

Perhaps somebody could explain how taking out a girl and buying her or her family something nice or bringing gifts from the States, or splurging on a 3 day vacation, somehow equates with a "no tipping" policy.

The complaints are universally about the quality or prices of the pussy they seek. Seems strange to me in a country where prostitution is legal and sexual exchange between men and girls is baked into the culture.

Everyone that I know seems to get all the pussy they want in the Dominican Republic. Those are reports I get from people with "boots on the ground". I do not make a distinction between "prostitutes" and "all other girls". If individuals negotiate prices up front, gives afterwards, or wines and dines before there most certainly an exchange of some kind going on there.

When you live here, you operate differently.

And that my man is something we can agree on. Been doing it differently for years and writing about it all over this forum. Even in Sosua during my one trip I had a great time. In Sosua I don't need to make myself feel better by saying something like "I haven't picked up a hooker". I don't live in Sosua so I have not problem with "prostitutes". One that I met she was new and I actually met her on the street, got her number and she came by the next afternoon. She was a lot of fun and a sweetheart. I had one other that we made a deal in a bar. The rest there was no money discussed. I just gave afterwards and the girls were appreciative. Please don't take it the wrong way (it's your money and who has the right to tell you what to do with it, right?) But please understand that many folks here go to their favorite destinations several times a year. So when you arrive for a short visit and pay gringo prices, next time they'll ask for more. Even worse, they'll brag about the overpaying gringo to their girlfriends (perhaps exaggerating a bit too), and now their girlfriends start asking more. It's a vicious cycle. It may not bother you on your 3-day visit, but other mongers who frequent the place. It will throw them off their budget. Just a few years ago, Sosua working girls were charging 800 pesos, then 1,000 pesos, then it was 1,500, then 2,000 and 2,500 and the more they can get away with, the colder and more hardened the service becomes. Asking 5,000 for ST (that's closer to $90 than $80, by the way), man, that chick has some balls on her.

When I appreciate the service, I may take the girl out and buy her or her kid something nice. I may give her a little gift I bring from the States. But I always negotiate, and I do not tip. Just understand, they ain't going to respect you more for overpaying. If anything, they'll think less of you, not more.

I think if the pricing has been going the way you say it has the economy for women was fucked long before I arrived, but I apologies on that one. Hopefully I can get accurate pricing info before I leave for my next destination.
