me and 7 friends arrived at hotel plaza europa. we were greeted (damn near attacked) by a chick named daisy who was hanging out in front. there were several more women in the bullpen but the only one who sticks out is the one who may have been a candidate if she had not shaved off her eyebrows only to draw a thick set of fake ones in their place. we put our things into our rooms and gathered to go on a hunt for food. on the way, i asked the little youngster haitian touts to take me to the verizon store. when that mission was complete i gave 30 pesos to whoever grabbed first. inside the verizon store the lady tested my quad band to see if it would pick up service. it did. however she said that i would have to go to the phone center at the grocery store in order to buy a chip and have it activated.
a gentleman who worked in the verizon store was kind enough to lead us to the grocery store. he packed what appeared to be a pistol with a homemade handle in his right pocket. inside the store there were two cell phone booths. the one i needed was claro. i was the third person in line but ended up waiting about 45 minutes due to the difficulties of the first lady in line and there only being one representative. i ended up buying a sim chip for 290 pesos and a card for an additional 200 pesos. i tried to add minutes via the spanish line many times and each time it would tell me that the secret number was invalid. i tried the english line a few times and it told me the same thing. i was very frustrated but decided to go back to the spanish line. then it worked. it was time to call up my non-pros and fit them into my tight schedule.
my friend insisted on stopping into a restaurant on the beach that a tout had directed us to despite my warning that it would be a rip-off as it always is. we sat down and a gentleman brought menus to us. 390 pesos for a cheeseburger? fuck y'all we are out of here. when we exited the beach onto the asphalt and walked up the hill some babes in a blue sport truck passed us in the other direction. the driver was smoking so i flagged them down. not wanting to block traffic she drove down the hill and made a u-turn. i leaned into the driver's window and admired her implants. the said they didn't have any plans so they invited us to come with them. me, my cousin, and another friend squeezed ourselves into the vehicle with the four ladies while 3 of my other friends kept walking. the driver was from santo domingo and had no idea where to go for food. i said fuck it, let's go to puerto plata. from the back seat i continuously rubbed the driver's left arm and shoulder while i kissed on the chick who was next to me in the back seat. we finally arrived at a restaurant on the waterfront in puerto plata.
when the driver got out of the vehicle we were in awe. she was fucking fine, with washboard abs. it felt like a plastic board was implanted in her abdomen. she refused to order food saying that she didn't want to get fat. the rest of us ate, drank and were merry to a tune of 800 pesos that was split 3 ways among the guys. while we ate i tried to pick the driver. i asked the usual: who do you live with, what do you do. she finally told me that her brother is very popular in puerto plata and she comes from santo domingo twice a month to make money fucking. she says she lives with her mom and her son and that the car is a rental. i asked her several times why she is a "puta" but each time she denies being a puta. i never asked what term she prefered. i asked her what her rates were. she said 100 us. for the rest of the trip that seemed to be the first rate that would come out of any girl's mouth. from that time on i was quiet with her. i was not about to give her 100 us and i didn't even feel like negotiating although i am a master at it.
when we left the restaurant the truck was riding on fumes. she asked where we wanted to go and we told her back to the hotel in sosua. my friends planned on getting busy with the girls they had. we stopped into a gas station and she asked for money for gas. we scraped up 300 pesos for 2 gallons of gas. we we left the gas station she pulled over and wanted us to get out because she didn't want to drive all the way back to sosua. her friends argued with her because they thought they were going to go back and get paid from us. she finally gave in and drove the 35 minutes back to sosua. when we arrived my friend decided not to take his girl for whatever reason and my cousin's girl gave a warning that she was bleeding so he some way blew her off and snuck off to his room with the girl my friend had had. the damage was 1200 pesos according to him. the bleeding one continued to ask where he was but we actually had no idea until he told us later. she sat outside his door for about two hours waiting for him. the one who was next to me in the back seat disappeared as soon as everyone got out of the truck. it was a shame because i actually wanted to hit it as an appetizer. the driver rolled up the windows in the car and did a wonder woman. she changed her clothes and when she got out she was even more banging than before. she talked on her cell a few minutes then jumped in the ride and left. one of my non-pros called saying she was on the way.

Posts: 219Has the violence from Cabarete spill over to Sosua? There seems to be a lot of reports on DR1 about robberies in Cabarete? I think these are house robberies. I'm not sure if they are robberies against tourists walking down the street?

I was staying in Sosua the first two weeks of June again and i really had fun there again. I meet some nice new gals and also some who walking there for a long time. When i wanted to pick up a girl i was not willing to pay more then 1500 peso for the hole night. Some of them came up for over 2000 peso. so my first question was then, if this price was for a week or what? I meet a nice girl from Puerto Plata. I stayed with her several times from evening till next day around lunchtime. We agreed for 1500 and it was no problem. She was a sexmaniac and it was really nice. Something like she is hard to find there. As i can speak some Spanish we talked about everything open. She sayed that im for her more than just a client, okay i didn't count on that.
During lunchtime we went down to the beach and she said that there is a client looking for her. I sayd, that i didn't have any problem, when she likes to go for work, as i also wanted some freedom to look for other girls. I had her cell number so she had mine, so to get her back was no problem. I went with her also to Puerto Plata to go up to the mountain and so. was nice to relax a bit from hard work, guess u know what i mean. The weather during daytime was really hot, but at least not so much rain.
One of my friend was the first time there and he couldn't speak any Spanish, so he had a lot of problem with the gals and sometimes i had to translate for him.
Sometimes during daytime i young Dominican Girl came to visit me in my hotel and she was really nice. Mostly i paid her more or less then 500 Peso and she never counted it. i know her from my last visits and never had any problem. One time she came tree time on a day, oh it was hard work, smile.
Now since the casino in playa dorado has also a disco who is open much longer, many of the girls who haven't find a man till the bars close, go there to find her luck. Before it was a little better, as when the bars have to close you could get a girl for a good price, as they didn't had any other possibility to find a man.
The Disco in the Casino is not to bad, but as a tourist you pay 200 Peso for entrance and of course the moto concho for both way. I was there only once on my last evening with a girl, just to see how it looks like. Okay first we play a bit with the slot machine and got 50 peso out.
When you speak spanish and beeing there often, you know whats going on and which girl are nice or not. And you have a easier live there with less problem.
Two time i was staying in the afternoon by a friend in cheramico. He leaves on the mainstreet there and from he's balcony you could see many of the girls, which later on staying in the disco. He said, it was easy during daytime to get this girls for less then 500 Peso, by just calling them from the street. Well as he stays now with a girlfriend, we couldn't try and test that.
But as in my experience you can find mostly nice girls on the beach and arrange with them something for the evening or afternoon, for mostly a better price and then they are not tired or in a hurry. Best is also when u get a local orange prepaid card, so you can call them.
I stayed in the hotel Orchidee, which is a cheap hotel with less luxury but its really close, walking distance to the night life there, and of course no problem bringing girls in day and night.
If you wanna now anything about that hotel just ask me.
In the evening i was sitting mostly in the bar central, which is next to the merengue bar. The Service and the prices are much better and you didn't get disturbed so much. And if a thief or a bad girl is entering the bar you get sometimes informed by the owner or other ppl from the bar. From the bar you can look to the street and see what's walking up and down from merengue to sosua live.
So hope this report was a bit intresting and sorry about my bad english, as my mother tongue language is (swiss)german.

Bottom line maybe, is that a tigress in gazelle's (Helpmann again!) clothing looks and acts like a gazelle. This is where the monger's 6th sense has to working, as it does at all times in the DR. You need to proceed slowly, get a good sense, then proceed further, and keep going until the point where you put your money into her hands. If there comes a point where you hear something or see something that seems "wrong", you stop the process and move on. What's "wrong" is usually determined in 20/20 hindsight, as you may have read in some reports here. These mistakes, hopefully do not involve bodily harm or encounters with the legal system. They are just part of the learning curve and may cost you a few thousand pesos. The cost of the lesson. And from what I have gathered here, you are a very good student! LOL. In fact, the best course on Sosua is taught on calle Pedro Cliente (spelling?) by the girls.
I envy you your upcoming feast of Haitiana sweetness (the non-tigresses!). Please don't flake without a report back, to all those here who have been so available to answer your questions! Pictures would be even better! We, who are land-locked in America the Beautiful are counting on you C.L.

Posts: 410However, I recommend Sosua, but staying in the town(see Cabarete)
A great assortment of young hot chicas at reasonable prices. Plus all the amenities, many have mentioned. For example--the best body ever, 3 exceptionally hot looking young chicas, others.

1. Tigresses are aggressive and invariably the ones who will be hustling and hassling you.
2. Tigresses are usually older.
3. Tigresses hang out at professional bars.
4. Haitian girls? might tend to be more hard-cored (but this is disputed)
What are other tell-tale signs that there is a tigress in gazelle's clothing?
I think that any contribution would be most welcome by members
Thank you in advance
I am certainly, anyway, looking forward to meeting dark Haitian girls.

Posts: 481Non Tourist Dominican attitudes
I don't have wide experience elsewhere in LA so I can't compare directly but I have the impression that Dominican culture is also very friendly to players even without the added effect of tourism. It seems like every little village has a disco tipico and bars that have camereras that can be taken out after paying salida. Cabanas are all over. Most of these businesses rarely see an extranjero. I have the impression that Dominican men with as much disposable cash as a tourist have always taken advantage of the opportunities and the culture assumes this is natural. On the numbers I have to assume that out of a population of 9 million there are several hundred thousand dominican men with enough means to pick up chicas regularly. At any given time there can't be more than a few thousand to a few tens of thousands of extranjero mongers (tourist and expat). This suggests that nine tenths of the field could be domestic.
The only difference is that the local culture expects a lot of discretion. A man with money is expected to have a girlfriend or two in addition to the wife and to still pick up an incidental chica now and then. He's expected to be very private about it however and to keep these things out of public view. Don't ask, don't tell.
I might be wrong but I have the impression that a 40 or 50 y.o. Dominican man, well dressed, would be well recieved flirting with a 20 y.o. cashier just about anywhere in the country. Hey, being a motoconcho is upscale enough for a lot of chicas.
A local guy might be faking it but any tourist is by definition well off. He's got a passport, residency in a fabulous foreign place, and enough money to pay to travel. A car is another hard to fake indicator. In the DR all cars come standard with a pussymagnet.

Posts: 1023I think you're all missing the point. Sure, be pleasant, make eye contact and blah blah blah. All good advice.
However, the reason that non-pros make themselves available to tourists in the DR is more the product of the morays of Dominican society and the culture down there more than anything that you do.
Don't forget that the Dominican Republic has a much more "trampled through" feel than any other country you will ever travel to in Latin America. The explosion of tourism in Costa Rica, Panama and now Colombia is still a rather recent development where in the DR it has existed for decades.
Sex tourism has become an almost accepted part of the society in the DR and many young women are brought up with the knowledge that if there approached by a neatly dressed, reasonably attractive foreigner - well it might be worth hearing what he has to say! Spending an afternoon with him, afterall may be a viable way to supplement your income or come upon a gift of clothes, jewelry a watch etc.
Because of the history of that nation, Dominican women tend to be much more receptive to tourists then what my experience has been in other countries.
In Sosua, por ejemplo, I've chatted with the check-out girl in the Playero Supermercado while I'm buying my groceries, and then afterwards (when I notice that there is nobody behind me in line) I'll ask her what kind of music she likes, where she goes out on Saturday Nights, if she has any friends "as beautiful as she is" (wink) etc etc.
She'll turn to me and smile and answer my questions playfully and in a friendly way.
I can recall in Venezuela and Nicaragua for example - talking to girls in the supermarket checkout lines and having them look at me with an expression that clearly suggested "what the heck is this 40 yo American guy talking to me for??"
Different atmosphere, different (very pro-tourist) attitude in the DR - tips the odds in your favor. This, more than anything else is to your advantage with regular chicas.
cheers.............

Are you being serious here? If you are, you are definitely working overtime. While my Spanish is not as eloquent as yours, I never found the need for these kind of "clever" pick up lines. The "culture", as you put, it just not that demanding! On the other hand, I would imagine if you actually took this approach and used these "lines" as stated here, the chicas would think you were being funny.
How about this simple approach: Make eye contact. Smile. Say hello. Ask their name. Let them know yours. Make some small talk about the weather and how much you like the Domincan Republic. Invite them for a drink--a juice, a beer, whatever. Sit in a cafe or restaurant for a while and continue to smile and ask her questions. After the drink and after you've determined you'd like to spend more time with the young lady in question, ask them if they would like to come to your room ("Tu quieres venir a mi habitacion?") If there is hesitation, you might say, "Tengo un regalo para ti." If they ask about the gift, say "un mil". Let's not forget the financial component here.
It's not much more complicated than that. While the young "non-pro" will often be available if you're "age appropriate", they may take a bit more time.
For instance, the drink may turn into a "dinner date" later that day. On the other hand, if the girl, younger or older, is ready to come to your room just moments after meeting her, she's more "pro" than "non-pro". And Sosua is crawling with "pros".
IMHO, the game is more about meeting and efficiently courting (i.e. one beer to evaluate her!) the non-tigres, the sweeter pros who will give you the hot, fully invested GFE....rather than knocking yourself out by coming on to the cute girls behind the counter at the pharmacy, who more than likely will not be interested in having sex for money. On the other hand, if you, unlike me, are 30 years old and buff, go ahead and knock yourself out with the tienda girls.
More than worrying about some kind of clever "pick up" lines, you'd be best advised to learn the signs of how to avoid being taken for a ride by a 25 year old hottie, who is out to scam you. There are no shortage of those in Sosua, those who are called "tigres" or "mafiosa". And they can fool you into wasting your money and time. No doubt you will learn the hard way....at least once!
Again, good luck. Based on the amount of research you are doing, I would bet you'll have a wonderful time....especially with the Haitianas.
