    Sosua vs Santiago for NYE

I've been in Sosua for a few days now and have been having a blast, but I'm wondering what would be the best thing to do for new year's eve. Would there be any chance of me hooking up with local non-pros in Santiago, at say, one of their trendy nightclubs (like with university students). To give some perspective, I am in my twenties, and have had incredible success with local girls in the Philippines (where I use pros as a last resort). If I had a good time and didn't get laid, I wouldn't regret it that much, as long as I had a good time. If I was back at home I would have spent hundreds at some nightclub only to go home and jack off (or even worse, fuck my girlfriend) , so even if I had a somewhat decent shot at getting laid, I'd be down for it.

    Sosua Trip (18 Dec-26 Dec.)

I just got back a few days ago from Sosua Trip. It was my fourth and turned out to be a good one as always, however, it did not start that way. I flew in to STI the for my first time (Usually fly into POP) because the price difference was like 500 dollars less. Get to STI (840PM flight) I did not see my bag on the carousel (What a terrible feeling). I then went to the baggage claims dept. And the guy told me my bag was in Miami. Long story short I did not get my bags until two days later. My New Garden Driver was waiting when came out (30 minutes later) glad the guy did not leave. We went the mountain route to sosua, should of ask the guy to take the Puerta Plata route which is a safer and smoother route at night at (So I'm told).

So I'm heading to Sosua without my checked bag. Next time I will not check a bag (You really don't need much in Sosua other than Cash). So back to my story, I'm thinking to myself during the drive. Am I going to let this baggage thing get the best of me and mess up my trip or will I just forget about my bag until it gets here and make the best of the situation. I chose the latter. I get to the New garden take shower and headed to the action. Went straight to D'Latino's to see what the fuss was about (I'm a big Classico guy). As been stated before, D' Latino's is a monster! Very large and spacious. I've passed this place many times on previous trip never looked inside. Even though I was disappointed that classico's did not reopen during my trip, D' Latino's more than suffice. That place was packed every night even on the 23rd when many chica from out of town went home, there were enough Sosua and Puerta Plata chicas to keep the place full with a pretty good selection.

The Chicas I kicked it with was great for the most part as always. If you are respectful and direct with the chicas you should be okay with them. Guys please do not get into the game playing with them by saying things you don't mean and waisting their time. If chica approaches you that you are not interested in (which happens a lot) please be polite and try your best to keep your conversation short. Just a word of advice from a 4th time visitor with very minamal issues with chicas. Another Sosua visit and another great trip. Love Sosua! Peace out!

    Try this one

There is a place across the from Rockies next door to the salon. There is a cute 23 year old who is down for everything. I had to make her stop cause I needed my leche for another girl. She is cute and very friendly. The price started at 500 pesos. The massage was nice and the suck was excellent. Hell you are in Sosua you can not go wrong.

Never meant to mislead. If this is true I was simply mistaken.

Correcto amigo. I think he was confused because they do have Metro buses that only go as far as Puerto Plata. When leaving SD on metro they have a 7am. 11am, and 4; 30pm that go all the was to Sosua. The 1pm bus from SD stops at Puerto Plata not Sosua. I fucked up on this a few trips back. Carrib tours has hourly buses to Charmicos from SD. The cabbie charged 200p to take me from Charmicos to New Garden. I had two peices of luggage so I didn't try to talk him down.

You need to meet up with some experienced ex-pats who can show you around. Suggest you try Rocky's Bar for late breakfast (around 11.30am) and ask Rick the manager to introduce you to reliable guys. Also wander along the beach path from about 3. 00pm. Usually a few friendly guys at Ruby's Vulkan bar.

I would ask them first what rate of change they are going to give you for the amount you want to change. Obviously if you ask to change a small amount of money, you will probably get a lesser rate of exchange. However getting 39 instead of 40 on an exchange of $50 would only cost you 50 pesos, a trivial sum in the overall scheme of things, for a slight convenience (available on the street near the bars out of office hours.)

By comparison you might buy a bottle of cold Dasani water in Sosua for 15 pesos, but pay the equivalent of 50 pesos for it in the US at a Circle K, an additional cost of 35 pesos for the convenience of not having to travel to Sosua!

There are only a few buses each day to Sosua, while there are (I believe) one every hour or two to puerto plata. I ended up staying in the bus station for over four hours. If you can coordinate everything properly, you can easily save a few hundred and only be burdened with an extra three hours of taxi / bus ride, although the ride through the countryside is pretty bland and shouldn't count for much.

Caribe Tours goes to Sosua every hour from Santiago. Stops in Charamaicos and it is a 5 minute cab ride to your hotel for $ 5
