I have no disagreement. I'm just talking about the market prices in general. Every transaction in this market is unique in some way. It was my intention to make the same point, that if you want low end prices you have to work with the seller.A chica who likes you will go for a lower price. If the chica did not like you and you still pressed for a deal it would have mostly likely ended up closer to 2500 before she would agree. Those deals are part of the price data too. It's like the "Blue Book" price for a used car, it's a fair approximation of the market price but with a little effort you can probably get it for less.

The other factor I was trying to point out is that tourists pay at a higher tier than guys who live there because there is usually no potential future business to consider (unless the chica hopes for a Western Union Novio). Local expats can easily get the same kind of chicas for 500 pesos because they have ongoing dealings with them (and they get comfortable, get to know and like them etc. which is a lot harder if you're only in town for a few days).

Expats also have better access to the much larger number of chicas who don't want the stigma/humiliation of being flat out putas in a Sosua club but would be happy to do the deal with a decent discrete guy. There are 10 chicas like this for every one who is willing to hang out on Pedro Clisante, and since they have much less access to potential clients they are happy with much less.

3000 pesos is two weeks wages on any straight job most of these chicas could get and they'd still have to blow the boss for it.

Just don't fall for that 2500 peso game they run for a TLN, i'm not saying that you are wrong either. Everyones luck is different to, what may work for some may not work for others, but the info is good to keep in mind so you don't get played!

Go to cabarete which is a famous wind surf destination and usually attracts a younger crowd.
Cabarete and Puerto Plata can be easily reached by taxis or carros publicos. The price for carros publicos from Sosua to Puerto Plata is round about 35 pesos each way, it might be more expensive right now due to high gas prices. Carros publicos leave Sosua at la bomba (gas station)
You can take a moto to los charamicos, Sosua Abajo, La Union...
Los charamicos, Sosua Abajo,... can be dangerous at night, use common sense; leave your belongings at the hotel ( no watch, jewelery...)
In case you take a carro publico do not bring a wallet, put your money in your shoes as in such taxis you might easily be the victim of pickpockets (4 persons on the backseats and 2 in the front seat)
When you take a carro publico you can get off wherever you feel like you just tell the driver to pull over.

Anybody know how the new construction is coming along at the NG ?

In march it was pretty noisy as they worked on the cement walls for extending the place. Looks like they will add quite a few more rooms to the venue.

Anybody there now and can provide pics?

I made a different experience a couple of week ago when i was in cabarete at a club and a girl approached me and said hola to me and i was also like hola. We talked for a bit and then she asked me de donde eres and i responded soy de la capital and she said entiendo. Then she was like mira voy a hablar con mis amgias regreso ahora but she never came back to me.
2 minutes later she was talking to some other gringos.
The point which i am trying to make is why should this girls in sosua, cabarete, puerto plata fuck with expats for 500 pesos when there are alot of gringos who pay 2500 to 3000 maybe 4000 pesos per night.

I had this chica the first night I was in Sosua at the Don Andres bar where I was staying. Tonight I ran into her again in the same bar and she was VERY determined to do a 'sucky sucky' with me tonight for 1500. When I said no, she proceeded to tell me my entire sexual history since being in Sosua. Who I was with, what we did, when we did it, how much I paid each of them and how long they stayed and it was all 100% accurate!!! Of course that didn't change my mind at all.

She said that one night, she was in the Don Andres bar and, of course, saw me going to my room with another chica. Unbenounced to me, she then called the chica after our session to get the details.

That just creeped me out a little.

Now I should preface this by saying that being a newbie to both Sosua and mongering, I was taken on one ocassion on a sucky sucky that started at 1000, but when we got into it, the rules changed suddenly and because I sucked on her tits and felt her up a bit, at the end of the session, it was suddenly 1500. I argued a bit but the language barrier and the prospect of having the Policia pay a visit made it easier to just give her the extra 500 and get her out. Won't make that mistake again.

But the bottom line is the fact that this first chica knew about this, and ALL the other sessions I had. It blew me away!

Based on the dollar/peso rate, without accounting for real inflation in both currencies since 2001, the rate would be 1000/2000. Given inflation 1500/3000 is not unrealistic. You are not getting ripped off at those rates with a pretty chica. That's at the market tourista rates. Expats because they offer the prospect of repeat business pay half of that, Dominicans even less. There's a lot of pressure on prices, wages in general have NOT kept pace with inflation because of chronic unemployment.

I personally think you are better off not even discussing it without spending some time talking and "courting". The hard core chicas will get impatient - and I don't want them so they get self-filtered. The newbie chicas will get comfortable and start to enjoy themselves. Then when money is discussed I would phrase it in terms of what I can afford, assuring her that she is really worth more but sadly I'm not a rich man.

The rare chica who doesn't graciously accept what I can afford after I have been very nice to her doesn't have the attitude I want in a chica and we can both agree to part company without losing face.

That appears to be the case here now. 1500 to 2000 DOP seems to be the standard for ST. Anywhere from 2500 to 4000 seems to be the going rate for an overnighter.

In my opinion 1000 is too low, and 500 certainly is too low, unless the girl really has the hots for you, or sees you as a future meal ticket. Look at the prices of things in Sosua and see what you can get for 500 pesos in the supermarket. It is only the cost of 3 beers and a tip in a bar.

Of course if the girl was a 3, then she would be lucky to get it for free.

Massage parlours still seem to be the best bet for those looking for some quick relief. 500 DOP will get you a BBBJCIM without the massage. There are 2 close to the ice cream shop that will compete loudly for your business, and if you get to close to them you will be dragged in by your package.

I'm a newbie and it's my first time in Sosua. Here are my thoughts so far.

The weather has kind of sucked, but the chicas are looking great.... here are the problems.... so far on my hunt, I've run into 2 chicas that are asking upwards of 2,000 for ST. Now I am very respectful when I negotiate with them, but when I drop to 1000, they still stick to their 2000 and I end up politely walking away. Even for a massage with BBBJ and no CIM I was told 2000. I'm certainly not cheap but I do believe in paying fair market value and not screwing it up for the next guy. From what I understand it should be 500 to 1,000 for ST. If I were to pay what they were asking for I would be busted before my week stay is up. One was maybe a 3 and the other was a 5 maybe a 6.

It is true that this is my first time mongering as well. I am a little shy and I am solo with VERY little spanish skills (probably should have set up a wingman in hindsight), but either the prices have drastically changed in Sosua since reading the posts from last year, I have 'sucker' on my forhead or I'm the fugliest guy here... and from what I have seen, I don't think the latter is the case.

Am I on the right track wen it comes to negotiating or was I just lucky enough to get the only 2 non-negotiable ones who thought they were worth more than all ther other chicas?

In Sosua, unless the girl is desperate, a ST is about 1000 plus or minus, depending on various factors (how attractive she is, how desperate you/she is/are, how many other guys are available, etc). It also depends on time of day. If its early in the day, they can afford to haggle more. It might also help if you approached them individually, they might agree to a price in private that they refuse in front of their girlfriend.
