She eventually let me go; I'm thinking realizing her mistake of thinking I was the stupid.

I have been reading on DR1 com about tourists denied entry into RD at Punta Cana airport immigration because they overstayed their 30 days visa on a previous visit to RD, also persons in the application process for a resident visa being denied because of overstaying on a tourist 30 visa on a previous visit, the French Embassy in paris has posted a warning to french nationals of this rejection on their website, apparently it is a change in RD immigration policy as of Jan. 2018. The tax or fine for example of 2500 pesos For a 31 to 90 overstay collected at airport by immigration apparently has no legal standing according to an immigration lawyer writing on DR1. Any first hand info on this?

It's funny that you mentioned. When I was leaving to DR, the custom lady asked me (after looking at my passport) have I paid my taxes. I'm wondering why is she looking at my passport? And wondering what the hell was she talking about because I only had been here for 12 days. We stood there for about 40 seconds going back-and-forth. She kept looking over the stamps on my passport. There have been three reports that I am aware of so far but it's early. My guess is and it is only a guess is that they are testing the waters if you will. If they were turning back ALL overstayers DR1 Would be lighting up with first hand accounts and it is not so I think that they cherry picked a couple of unfortunate folks. That said, we need to watch this very closely and it will play out very quickly over the next few days if they start to do it to people in any kind of numbers. I have overstayed a bunch of times in the last 4 years and left the DR a few weeks ago and will be returning in two weeks, we'll see what happens. This could be the start of the DR authorities truly cracking down as they have recently doubled or tripled the military presence on the Haitian border also. Looks like it may be time for me to get legal residency in the DR, I know I should have done it a long time ago but it is a kind of a pain in the ass and expensive.

I rarely drink alcohol. It dies not agree with me. I am on the last leg of a course of dental treatment. On the way back home I stop at Hans on the Malecon for a cup of drinking chocolate with a double rum in to dull the pain once the anesthetic wears off. It is possible I made my shameful post after one such session. I remember rushing my post so I could slump into bed.

Last summer my Haitian "wife" and I split up after eight years. She went to live with a Dominican. He seems a decent guy and is half my age, but no richer.

A few days ago I hooked up with another haitiana at Hans' bar. Early days yet but she could be my next wife. It was getting embarrassing going around with a 29-year-old. The new one is 25 but looks about 18. That's better.

When I read that I had to check my pulse to see if I was still alive. No-one says anything nice about anyone on this board unless they are dead. A bit over the top, Oakie, but thanks anyway.

Sorry to hear about your 8 year split up, but that's a decent ride with any female, and a new adventure opens up!

Mine too. After 8 years mi Princessa went to join her son in NJ, as I was moving here. She was happy for a while in her upscale surroundings and sent pics of her in beautiful ropa, and shoveling snow and stuff, but now she desperately wants back here with me and I unfortunately had to block her moleste calls. She has friends all over town who tell her what I'm up to. (No secrets in Sosua) for a local, but it is her friends and my dinero she misses mostly.

My new chica is much more down to earth, she has worker's hands with no long or even painted nails. Natural hair (sorry GM). She's street smart, knows how to get value for money, does everything for me without asking, never once has asked me for money, and is happy to take whatever I can give her at the moment. She is bi, and the sex is not the greatest, but I'm not the horndog I once was I was, but almost every weekend we party with some of her fabulously beatiful chica friends from PP and Cabarete.

Like her they are willing to take what I give them, dinner, drinks and a few dinero to make it worth coming out for, but no meter running, and If I'm temporarily short of cash, no problemo. So it's not really mongering I'm doing. But there's always a new one comes out with them like last Saturday, and the previous Saturday in Cabarete, where I spent an Arabian night in the barrio.

When I was looking for a place, I went to PP and Cabarete. But there, I felt like a stranger with everybody new I met trying to size me up and test me all over again. Came back to Sosua where I know everybody in my circle and felt completely at home. So Sosua it was! My daily walk has many different routes and welcoming rest stops for a coffee or a beer, or even a little company! All smiling faces, all happy to see me (and mi dinero).

Chica works 3 days in Cabarete, has a small apartment there, but her family home is in PP where her bambina goes to school. She claims she can find me any number of much better and cheaper places than where I am, so on Wednesday she shows me around PP. We'll see!

So apologies to mongers looking for sport fucking info, but it's just one man's journey from visiting monger to settling down here!

I think they still allow guys to take the girl out initially for a ST $100. And if you decide you want the girl to stay beyond the ST and leave in the morning, you can pay the $50 difference directly to the girl. In most cases, Pica Flor will arrange to drop the girl off to your place if its close by, and pick her up when it's time.

I agree one should be careful with taking chicas for LT. However, I would amend that to, one should be careful with DR chicas no matter what the arrangement is. Enough chicas have an arsenal of ways to test a customer or potential customer. And a monger better be prepared to discern whether he should deal with the situation based on him being right ( sticking to the principle of the issue) , or to accept an unwanted outcome in order to avoid a far worse scenario.

You are right, Pica flor price is $100 US for ST and $150 US for TLN. I was there in mid-late Jan this year. They will send a driver to pick the girl up for you when done. The girl will call them for pick up. A few very good former FOD chicas work there & I have no problem picking them up for TLN.

I've reached out to others via PM but it appears I am not in the gang of 6 so my Sosua questions have been ignored.

Let's see if I get attacked as a newbie. I know my way around Santo Domingo (it's easy to get laid here, not hard) and Boca Chica. But it's been a while sense I've been to Sosua.

I'm not sure if you are serious, but most of your questions have been answered many times before here.

The conventional wisdom is:

1. 1000 - 2000, and 2500 - 4000.

Now there's so much circumstantial "depends" in that conventional wisdom, and it is so YMMV dependent, that it is not really a useful guide. Time of day / week / year / Holy Week / Superbowl. Choice of chica, puta / semi / non.

2. El Flow, as it is still called here, Central, Bourbon Street and Sosua Lights.

Other bars I don't frequent have been recommended here for Haitiana aficionados, but you can find them almost anywhere in Sosua. Like BC you only have a small range to cover.

3. 100-150.

Bars charge 100 to 150 for pequina, but you can post up outside the local colmado and meet interesting people or drink in a smaller bar where you buy the grande and they'll serve it in a glass, keep the bottle cold, and refill as you drink it. Much cheaper that way and the choice of locals.

I'm sure others may have differing views and advice!

A can of beer in the main supermarket by players wad around 50 pesos. A lot of clubs charge 75 you 250 pesos. I think Classico was around 150 to 175 pesos. Beers at dime central Pica la Flor were cheap around $3. Haitians or on Pedro Clisante and the beach. Depending on your looks and negotiation girls can range from 1500 to 2500 for freelancers with the greedy girls wanting 3 k. Pica la Flor Hottie are $150 for 4 hrs. Girls in Classico were quoting $100 all night. I would be careful with LT because girls can be runners. DR chicas will test you once back in the room and sometimes start unnecessary arguments.

Glad to hear Sosua beach is still okay. Always a great beach. I have been to many but Sosua is one of my favorites. As you all know when Help Disco closed a lot of us cut Brazil loose. Thank goodness for Sosua. We have a nice spot on the beach with the local brothers catering to us. Great gals and an affordable place to be when it all comes down to it. The newbies need their shot too although we would like to keep our little secret. Help out when you feel the need to. Most of us have been around the block more than once, so let's support each with positive input. Like they say "it don't cost nothing to be nice". We need to keep this game going and that means treating everyone the way you want to be treated and keeping a positive slant on everything. If it don't fit or you don't agree there is a way work with it. I must admit that an apology is one the greatest things you can do. It shows that you have a conscious and are willing to correct your mistakes of which we all are guilty of. Making mistakes that is. So carry on and keep our dream alive. Do right in the DR just as you would anyplace else. Have fun!
