Dominican today had a long article about effoerts to thwart prostitution and restore family atmosphere to Sosua. The efforts are on going.

That has been a focus of the country for a long time. It has changed from the days of the "wild, wild west" to a certain degree. If they put some effort into it they could control it a positive way by registering chicas and providing health and safety measures and keep the adult entainment for later hours. However, the ladies of the Dominican Republic are free spirited and don't take regulations very well. I really don't blame them either. Curfew has ended as of today and most things are open. The beach activities look like they are on track for the 1st of July. I'll be hitting the island on the 9th of July and can't wait to support the local economy as much as I can. So tired of the rhetoric of our home country. At least outside the USA Corruption can be seen for what it is and the people still have some balls left to counter these false man-made situations. Sosua has longevity and I have seen it's resilience over the years and in my opinion it will survive and continue to be what it is and has always been. Maybe on a lower tip, but it will survive. It was a bad move to close Passions and CMP because that was exactly the places that were off of the street, low key, safe and clean for both chica and monger. The plus was there were out of sight of the general public and tourists. Anyway that may be an option in the future if they settle down and make some positive moves for the community and tourists who venture to Sosua for companionship.

A friend of kubbe told me how much he enjoys Sosua and how chilled it is. Says he loves how the girls treat him so good.

I'm thinking of coming in with him in August if things open back up by then.

Just not sure we'll be able to travel together and I may want to stay a bit longer than him. Also he's been there mainly in the past with some more seasoned guys.

So I'm here looking for any tips. From getting to Sousa from STI at night. Also how are they with bringing in food. Most likely will be prepared foods. I have s special diet I'm. On.

Also where to stay. Infinit Blue I looked at, looks nice.

Where are some places to finding good quality chicas for a reasonable prices (read I'm cheap but don't want a SW type). And does not speaking Spanish put me at a major disadvantage?

Let me answer you point by point.

Each individual has different experience. Do not go by what others did.

Things may not get back to normal by August. I would wait at least till November. From STI Santiago airport you have many choices. You can negotiate a taxi fare. Depending on your arrival time you can take the taxi to bus station and catch a bus. Lots of flights lands late at night. At that time it is better to stay one night in Santiago and maybe explore night life there. You may get lucky. And catch bus to Sosua.

There are plenty of options about food. You need not order from the menu. You can ask them to prepare your own food the way you like it.

Stay wise there are plenty of hotels if they are still open after this pandemic. Even if you book online better call and make sure they are open.

As for girls venue to pick up has been changing recently like the wind. Sosua is a small town and once you get there can find out happening places. Price wise strictly on negotiation. Lack of Spanish fluency is not a hindrance. Better to learn some basic Spanish words. In our mongering world lack of local language has never affected us for having a good time anywhere in the world.

You are very brave to do an adventure like that, right now the least I think about is taking a plane. Good luck!

Get a paid subscription to the board and you can discuss things via PM with people who are on the ground there; Also, all the info you are asking for here already here man. A lot of course will be out of date since none of us know yet with this whole Corona thing, but it's your best start. AKA. RTFF.

For an ex pat or regular visitor, it helps to concentrate to your budget among your social circle, and your frequently patronized business. It pays dividends at times like this. What and where you spend can be a life changer for locals. You get no added benefits, and reduced requests for money if you are not spending your money all over the place.

As you said in your other post, it pays to keep them always happy to see you, but not dependent on you!

The time has been hard on the women I know in the DR. I have tried to do what little I could but there are many and resources are limited. For as long as it has been, the desperation has grown and sometime it has frayed the nerves. As I tried to balance those that do not ask, those that are more demanding, I had to cut the cord with some of them.

The women feel helpless as they ask, unable to reciprocate in kind as the menfolk are far away. Today, one such woman, sent me a video on Whatsapp, unsolicited. It might be an attempt to make sure that the honeypot does not disappear, from my cynical view point but it also dawned on me that she also had a sense of honor, paying back with the only currency she has.

The women existed before me and will do so after, as the refrain goes, so no one depends on me, Phew! Having said that, the focus of the anecdote was not me but the women and their code of honor.

Fortunately also, I do not have to pull myself up by the bootstraps. And speaking of misery, there, but for the grace of God, go I!

Some of my whatsapp chicas seem to be hurting. But others seem to be maintaining, and even still partying with their friends from what I see online.

I guess some have western union coming in. All interesting. It will be interesting to see how things are when I finally get back. Ill be sticking with my whatsapp crew to avoid drama. I anticipate the begging will be considerably worse. We shall see! Peace.
