I am thinking of coming to Sosua in late January. I have been on month-long vacations to Thailand (twice) and the Philippines (once) in the last three years, but now I am looking for something a little closer. I am interested in hanging with a girl for a couple of days: GFE-like. I am curious about what I should expect by way of pricing. How about the best way to approach. I have leads on LatinAmericanCupid. Thoughts on pricing and approach?

Travel from La Isabela International Airport Santo Domingo to Sosua

Looking for suggestions. I will be flying from Haiti to la Isabela early February. Right now there does not seem to be rental cars at the airport. I will have to take a cab to a car rental place then rent one way to drop off at POP. If anyone has suggestions please let me know. Their are 2 of us traveling together.

    Guilty as charged.

(With the excuse that the locals spell as badly as I do).

Always by publico (I get to sit beside the driver) Mi chica can find a publico anywhere she goes, or will send a motoconcho to get one. The fare is just a few pesos, and great value compared to a dedicated taxi. It does take the scenic route sometimes through La Union and even into the airport gate.

Jimanez is good for shoes and La Serena is good for "the gift",

    Flight:

Flight was out of SAN to POP on AA for $750 and change. Flights were pretty much on time and with no issues. I really hate the red eye flight, especially topped with the 6 hour layover in Miami. This time I got into Miami early and stayed at the airport hotel for the night; the hotel sucked! I'm back to rethinking my layover options.

    Hotel:

For the sixth time, I stayed at Casa Cayena. Wilfried met me at the airport; as usual. He had hip surgery on one hip in October and will have surgery on the other in January. He seems to be feeling well. Wilfried is still offering breakfast and dinner included in the room rate. I only ate breakfast there twice, but I did have dinner on four nights. Room security was never an issue. I left out my laptop and surface pad daily without any issues. The entire staff is professional and overall outstanding. I will continue to stay there.

    Money:

I got lazy and just exchanged money at the hotel, the rate was 43 to 1 change. The rest of the time I abused the ATM machines and vice-versa.

    Cell Phone:

I went back to Orange and my SIM card was not valid from last May. I changed up to Claro, put 300 pesos of minutes on the card, which was plenty enough.

    Food:

Besides eating at Casa Cayena, I ate at other spots. I had the ribs at the Scandinavian place on the beach. They were the best ribs I've ever had in Sosua! Also the steak tenderloin with peppercorn sauce was outstanding! I had that 3 times during my stay. BTW, Tom the owner has lung cancer and I hope the best for him! I also ate at several food tray places, like at Rumba's and a couple down the road; all were very good.

    The Beach:

Because Herman's was closed, I started hanging out at the Scandinavian place and Carolinas. I saw very few cops and a good amount of working girls walking up and down the beach.

    The Clubs:

Rumba still had the best game in town; but the girls came out later than usual. The club was full just about every night. Classicos was open, but did not go in the place this trip. The new after spot is Club X, across the street from Classicos, stopped in there a couple of times; nice place.

    Women:

It really helped to have established contacts. As soon as I returned to my hotel from Claro, one of my FB girls was standing outside the hotel. I spent some time with a few new girls, but also some time with my previous girls. Sosua IS NOT dried up, as some would have you believe. There are still plenty of girls available. Some were asking for 2000/2500 for short time, but many were still going with 1500. It is still a buyer's market.

    Final thoughts:

This was my 17th trip in 6 years and I watched this place with its ups and downs. Some places are closed while enough places are still open to provide a good assortment of chicas. Friday and Saturday nights were off the hook concerning the number of women that were available. This place still is one of the best values in the world, and also, if you make connections, it is a great place to come back to on a regular basis. I love the women and they seem to love my pesos, so I will return!
    Great report. Love the tetas!

I forgot to mention a problem I had with my bank card.

I've always advocated Canadians using an ATM card for fast and economical pesos. But the last couple of times I have come back and looked at my statements I seem to be taking out more that I thought I was. This time I kept track of my withdrawals through online banking with my laptop.

Sure enough, my closest location, the Scotiabank ATM in the pharmacy near the Texaco was always broken and never did dispense money even though I tried a few times. It is always empty or broken, but works often enough to save a little time going up to Populaire and the others.

Bottom line. It screwed me out of a few hundred dollars in the first couple of days. I called my bank and they said I would have to go intio a dispute process when I got back, and I haven't had time to do that yet.

    Be warned!

I did take some photos of the machine and the location to help my claim and told the chica at the pharmacia the machine was hacked, but she shrugged her shoulders.

Yep, this is the first time they took us through the little town. We picked up an airport check in guy in uniform there and took him as far as the barrier gate at the airport.

It's a sensible way to get around and only now are they trying that sort of thing here in Toronto ((Uber), but the usual vested interests are trying to keep them out. A big fight.

The Post Office in Sosua is located in a corner of the small shopping mall on the carretera on the same side as Texaco, but 100 meters towards Cabarete. You have to pick your mail up there, but sometimes if you have a packet, they will send a moto to let you know. There are no drive-by mailing facilities. The Post Office in Puerto Plata is on a corner of Separacion and 12th July near el Parque and has recently had a facelift.

Jimanez is good for shoes and La Serena is good for "the gift", which is part of the bartering process I do with mi chica. The last couple of times it was a Bar be Que and then a Sony Audio unit. We never discuss money for sex, but it all averages out ok.

Now delivery and address location being what it is, how does she get these big heavy boxes back to her apartment, some 8-10 hours away? Absolutely no problema, she gets the store to pack them, put them into a cab and takes them to Caribe Express, where she buys them a ticket. They are on their way and by the time she gets home her family likely will have picked them up, unpacked and set them up for her. She never has to touch them.

    So easy!

Let's start with the exploitation angle.

If I go out and somehow coerce, with alcohol, drugs, money or false promises, a woman into my bed, the exploitation is obvious. However, if the girl spends 30 minutes trying to talk her way into my bed for an agreed upon reward, at worst the exploitation is mutual. Is she better off, trying to feed her family if nobody "exploits" her?

As for the appeal, let me flip it around. What's the appeal of ever having sex with a different person, once you've found someone who satisfies you? Why go through all the blah sex looking for better fireworks?

For some people, that's fine. They're happy to spend 30 years having mechanical sex with 1 partner. But for many of us, there are so many different experiences calling to us. So we respond, each in our own way.

    Here are a few reasons:

Control. For some, having that control over the woman is appealing.

Dirty. There are plenty who get off because paying for sex makes it filthy.

Fetishes. If you're into dressing up in panyhose and licking mayonnaise off a woman's dirty feet, eventually word will get out. But for a few dollars, your secret is safe.

Class. Maybe he's always wanted a supermodel or a socialite, or maybe he wants a gutter tramp. For the right price, anything is possible.

Of course those are the easy reasons. For some it's more complex. I've had some great relationships, I've also been able to fulfill most of my sexual fantasies, and didn't have to pay for it. After my last relationship ended, I decided, I don't want another one. I don't want to date, because I don't want to mislead anyone. While I could look for a FWB, it's not that appealing. But I still crave the human connection. I'm able to satisfy some of the need platonically. Waitresses love me, because I listen and treat them right, without flirting.

When the urge for something more gets too strong, I find someone who is happy to help. Many times the results are less than perfect, but sometimes the results are worth the price.

    Lonely,

You make some excellent points and I don't disagree with a lot of what you say. I think I had had sex with about 35 women over 30 years before I tried paid sex. Some of the sex was good and some was not. The surprising thing to me was that the paid sex was often very good. Possibly this was because the girls wanted to persuade me that they were girlfriend material.

The attractive thing about paid sex was that it was a kind of fantasy fulfillment thing. You could see a woman who you found attractive and have sex with her almost immediately without a prolonged courtship, and you could also have sex with people you found physically attractive, but would not want to have a relationship with, and you could also have sex with women who were more attractive and / or younger than the ones you could have sex with for free. So the sex was very pure and animal. Many of the girls will orgasm with men who pay them for sex, especially if they are not having sex with lots of men, but if they are selling sex by half hour, then they will not be multiorgasmic, and mostly not orgasmic at all. If you have sex with women who are available for free, but are not very attractive to you, then the sex is not all that great either, and often the relationship will end in disappointment for the woman who will feel rejected.

However after a while I did become rather bored with the whole thing, and it became a bit like getting a haircut or a massage, a pleasant experience that one could pay for every now and again, but only in the DR, not in the US. But, yes, in the long run relationship sex is often better than paid sex.

Everything has to be valued relative to something else. Paid sex may not be very noble, but it is better than being a [CodeWord126] or some kind of sex offender, and at least it brings people into contact with fellow human beings, rather than hanging out alone in darkened rooms watching pornography.
