LOL. Beats me. I guess some guys are still stuck in the mid 20th century.

Yes, we pull $$ from ATMs and also bring USDs (clean, virgin $100's only). Please note the ATM fees will be extreme, so plan accordingly. There are several banking institutions that offer reimbursement for ATM fees. If you travel abroad on a regular basis, I strongly advise you to pursue such. I use Chas. Schwab and have it down to a science. I have traveled extensively and never, ever depart for a foreign destination without 3 methods to obtain local currency: 1) Order in advance and bring with, 2) Bring USDs and convert and 3) Use my Chas. Schwab to pull from any available Bank.

I will be in the POP area from 6-13 Oct, let me know if you want to meet up.

    1st trip next week

I land in Santo Domingo next Friday at 430 pm. I hope I can get to a bus that leaves Santo Domingo that evening and heads up to Puerto Plata or Sosua. It seems there is a 7 pm bus. I don't know how long the airport takes there.

Anyway, since I don't know if I can make it to the bus on time, I am hesitant to reserve a hotel in Sosua for Friday night. Can I just show up in Sosua at 11-12 pm and fid a hotel pretty easily and safely?

Is it best to stay in Santo Domingo and take the bus in the morning?

If so, where in Santo Domingo would be good to stay?

Any hotel recs. In Zona Colonial?

It would be nice if the bus just left from the airport or if a tax wasn't 150 bucks!

    I'd pay up to 100.

Suggestions for places to stay in Sosua that allow girls but check / verify ID and have security. Not too expensive or fancy-but, clean and nice.

Maybe 2 nights at blackbeards before Sosua to get my the. Are. Gills wet?

Open to your thoughts about my 1st real week in the the. Are.

Now that classico is gone. What about the club below. Is that gone as well? Does playa chiquita have that special vibe and quantity classico had.

    3. My main concern right now is cab/Uber fare. Would that hour and a half Uber/taxi to and from STI be worth the $300 cheaper flight? It's kinda hard to find what rates are like.

    4. I know weed's illegal there, but is it noticeable or does anybody care? I can live without it, but ....

    5. Only other thing is it a good time to go in late February? I know it'll be tropical and in the dry season, but is it a good time for there to be lots of girls and good choices?
    1. Price depends upon the girl's overall package (looks, personality, etc) combined with what you are willing to accept (pretty, ugly, thin, fat, repulsive, unpleasant, etc.). Reading the forum, you can read where some members say they are special enough to get women for free while others say they end up paying over $100 for an overnight guest, so expect this. My instinct reasons most mongers must pay more for a higher-quality female; after all, the females travel to Sosua to earn money, not have free sex with any man. A pretty prostitute can get laid for free at home.

    2. It's not overly difficult to find prostitutes willing to perform as a couple for you. Both will expect to be paid full amounts. Many of the prostitutes love this scenario because it's half the work at most. At Blackbeard's they call it "Happy Hour. " Happy hour is for the girls to be happy.

    3. I have flown into POP and STI numerous times and strongly prefer STI. The petulant theatrics aboard inbound / outbound aircraft full of mongers to / from POP inspired me to exclusively use STI. It's embarrassing to be on flights into POP where the language and behaviors of American "adults" visiting Sosua cause the airline to ban the passengers from return trips.

There are several folks who will drive you from STI at an early hour. Many of the seniors have contacts for rides. That said, at that hour, even a civilian will charge you nearly as much as a taxi. Expect at least $100 for transportation. The Dominical Republic is expensive for taxis.

    4. Avoid the marijuana. It's not worth the cost in bribes and jail time.

    5. February is a good time. Expect many tourist in the Northern Coast. Most won't visit in Sosua.

So $120 each way plus at least an hour and a half each way, he is better off getting the ticket to Puerto Plata.

Quality and quantity are both fine

In the past there were just more and better. Never the less the scene is fine. Not as many 9 and 10 as in the past but plenty of attractive women The only thing you need in Sosua is cash money. My problem in Sosua is that there more women there then I can bang. I always leave wishing I could have hit a few more. 1000's of guys go to Sosua every year and return because they had a great time. No need for any back up plan. Many of the old timers remember how awesome things were in the past. Willing young pussy for us older guys is still a dream come true.

Personally Tinder and SA was pretty dead to me in Sosúa. You get some non pros from puerto plata but women are flakey and it's a drive. Also selection of active users is quite limited. More efficient option to go out at night collect a bunch of numbers and make an educated choice on the spot.

Tinder is good you can find some good chicks on there who don't want to sit in Rumba or Bailess all day waiting for a guy. With that said Sosua is trash and there are a number of better places one could go if there main goal is to have sex.

Question for Sosua vets and experts

With the quality and presence of women a lot less in Sosua. Do you use tinder as preferences or just for back up to make up for lack of quality? How reliable is tinder?

Some of my favorite restaurants in Sosua. Pirates Bay, Margots, Germany Restaurant, and Stevens for pastries.

I also recommend the restaurant inside the Hotel El Rancho about 200 feet from the New Garden.

    Buses run everyday

Not sure how much Uber cost close to 100 I would think. There are buses that cost 5 dollars that run all day. If saving money is important catch the bus I do. The only issue is the arrival times are terrible often very late night. Depending on what time flight arrives will determine your best options for travel.

Few questions if you guys can help.

I read a few times about going into STI airport instead of POP. It makes the cost of the flight about half for me. 300 instead of 600.

Are Ubers easy to get from STI into Sousa? I just put the addresses in now, shows less than 3600. Like if I actually request one will it locate a driver to do it!?

Showed it to be a 2 hour or less drive?

And that's safe? No issues being in a car that long going throug roads and getting jacked?

For money, are their ATMs regularly available and fair? Used to going to ATMs and taking local currency as needed. Not carrying large amounts or keeping it in the room.

Lastly, any good food spots that are a must try!?

    You will be ok!!

Flying into STI is good. But I doubt 3600 is the Uber rate, not to mention Ubers might not be allowed in the airport itself. Taxis at airports are regulated and those may be the only ones available. It might cost $120. That's what I paid from POP to STI last month. Very safe. No one is going to jack you. Also, flights ouit of POP arent as reliable anymore. STI is a much better airport with many more options. People are getting stuck in POP big time. Only one major strip in town. Can't miss it. ATMs only give about 6000 pesos a day I believe--screw ATMs anyway. If you must, use the Banco Popular ATMs or even better use the tellers inside. Bank is across the street from Baileys Diner and change what you need. Bring your Passport to the bank too. Great rate. Beach is another 10 minute walk from the bank. Many new restaurants now and they are DELISH! This only means they are serious about cleaning up the spot for more family vacationers. I saw plenty kids and families and young couples a month ago. Eat at Margots across the street from Que Lo Que cafe by the baseball field. Get the ceviche or the shrimp linguine alfredo. OMGG! A little pricey but you're there for 3 days meng!. Live a little. Just don't bring street meat there. If your the occasional cheapo like me, theres a Pica Pollo (fried food and Chinese very cheap) on the main big road across the street from the big Playero Supermarket there. Or just simply ask the girls, they know who delivers fast spanish food. Sosua is so small. You'll be able to do all this in an hour!! Happy slinging!!
